Drow speech to Adventurers:

We know who you are. We know what you have done. You have managed to halt the giant's operations in this area of the land. The suddenness and ferociousness of your attacks have even earned a little admiration from one or two of us. But your being powerful users of magic and weapons is not a justification for this setback. In truth, what good do your powers do you now? (pause) By all rights, your invasion of our territory and damage to the giants operations is enough cause to have you sent to the slave mines, or better yet, executed in the arena. The world would probably be a great deal safer if this was done.

However, the giants are not under my jurisdiction. They have received all of their orders from Eclavdra. Eclavdra has been the guiding force behind the giant's uprisings.

There are not many of us who agree with her methods, although she is serving a purpose in distracting attention from the true work that is being done. But now it appears that a considerable amount of our time and money has been wasted, and it is Eclavdra's fault. She has been a thorn in our side for quite some time now, doing things her way, needless of any advice from us. This setback for her is in truth pleasing to us, although she still has resources available to allow her to regain her former power in a relatively short time.

But Eclavadra is a fool. She wastes our energy with these idiotic giants. And if she is allowed, she will continue to do so. Of course, our grand plan will continue whether Ecalvdra exists or not. But her existence in itself presents a bad example. Her operation must be stopped, destroyed, and Eclavdra herself must be disgraced in everyone's eyes so that she can never regain the power she lost by your actions.

So, dwellers of the upper world, we are offering you a deal. You may go to Eclavdra's base of operations, and attempt to destroy it, or at least cripple it so badly that it will be useless. And then you shall be free to do as you wish. Or you may stay here and die.

If you choose to assist us, we shall return all of your possessions to you, and all of the wealth you accumulated in your wondrous magical hole. You shall be deposited at a spot not far from the entrance to her outpost, on the surface of your world, in the free air. She has managed to engage the services of the leader of a group of fire giants, one King Snurre Iron Belly, strong of body but foolish of brain. Once you defeat him, or do as much damage as you believe you can, you shall be free to attempt to return to your own lands. Of course, you will not know where you are, but once you defeat the giants, you shall find out, for they do have maps of the lands.

So that is our offer. Regain all of your possessions, and be set free, with the opportunity to slay fire giants and gain their treasure, which I understand to be quite substantial, and to be free to plot your own destiny and live your own lives. If you reject this, you shall remain here and will surely die.

Decide. Now.

You have made a wise decision. By this act you have earned our respect and our gratitude. In the future, when you have returned from the barren lands, feel free to call for our services at any time. Once again, I thank you. Are you prepared to leave?
