Leading up Megavolt and Ja Tarra had seeing each other for the past months and Negaduck was getting sick of it. They were always smiling and being cute about it and there was nothing he could do about it. “Tangle with her once, shame on her; tangle with her twice, shame on me. There ain’t no way I’m risking my life again,” He touched his chest where she had swiped at him and felt the deep scar, high on his left side. He remembered back: the swipe had been so fast and sharp that only after he hit the table and opened it up more then did it start to profusely bleed. Just like a nice sharp blade to candlesticks. He had almost bled to death. Negaduck let the wind plow past his cape and through his feathers, ruffling them up. It was very cold and very dark out that night. Winter was such a bitch. Especially this one; they had not gotten this much snow in over two decades. Michelle loved it, as did Lucifer. He chuckled to himself. “Those two are so cold, they love the winter. How could anyone despise the summer as much as those two?” “Talking to yourself, Negaduck?! How uncharacteristic!” Negaduck made no move to get up. “Darkwing, go away.” Darkwing walked over to the kneeling villain. “Why don’t you get up and face me?” Hesitantly, Negaduck slowly got to his feet and eerily turned to look at him. Darkwing was shocked to see his counterpart’s beak a shade of blue. “Negaduck, you’re freezing!” Darkwing barely said, in shock. “You came for a fight? You want a fight?! Never mind my condition, just fight.” “You can’t fight like this!” “And why not?!!” “Can you move your fingers?” Negaduck tried, but really couldn’t. He sleepily glared at his twin, but then began to falter as his eyelids shut. Just in time, Darkwing caught Negaduck and realized that he was unconscious. Hefting Negaduck onto his shoulder, Darkwing proceeded to carry him down to the street and to The Ratcatcher to bring him to a hospital. During the ride Negaduck woke up warmer, now that Darkwing wrapped him up in his own cape. While playing opossum, Negaduck saw that they were nearing the hospital, but he knew he shouldn’t go there. So Negaduck abruptly jumped out of the vehicle as the hero slowed to stop at a red light. Darkwing turned sharply and parked The Ratcatcher quickly and set off after Public Enemy Number Two. After a few minutes of looking for the dark duck Darkwing turned back when he couldn’t find him. ************************************************************* “What do I do??!” “Give her toys! Girls like toys!” “I say flowers; preferably potted,” “Buy her stocks!! Women like money!” “Yeah, but she’s not like that!! She’s different!! That’s why I like her. She’s different; she likes me! And I like her!” The other three guys in the room roll their eyes and look at each other incredulously. “What?!” Megavolt asks, innocently and confused. “Megs, you’re on your own!” The other three leave and Megavolt haunches over in dismay. “Just be yourself,” “Huh?!” The rat got disturbed. “I thought no one else was here!” “Just got here,” Negaduck came out of the shadows by the window and sat on the heater. Megavolt went over to shut the window the dark duck came through. “Brrr. Sure is cold out there.” “Tell me something I don’t know, you knob.” Megavolt noticed Negaduck’s beak a shade of blue. “How long were you out there??!” “A long time. Go get me some coffee er something.” The electrical rat complied and Negaduck snatched it up quick and held it shakily. “You’re really cold, aren’tcha?” Negaduck glared at him. “ ‘Cold’ is an understatement!!” “Why torture yourself?” “Why not?!! Not shut up!! Stop asking stupid questions!!” “Hmph!” Megavolt folded his arms and glared at the thawing duck. After a while Negaduck got off the heater, removed his hat, and chucked the empty waxed paper cup. “I got work to do, why don’t you be useful and go away!!?” Megavolt complied; skulking away with his fists in his pockets. Getting his coat on, he exited the hideout. After freezing in his battery car, Megavolt gave up trying to make it start. “Everything must be frozen solid! I even had trouble getting the door open!” He got out and made sure he had his keys, locked up the car and started walking. Now he knew what Negaduck went through!! The freezing, snow filled air was practically trying to kill you!! No one had bothered to clear the sidewalks or the road because there was too much snow coming down, and besides, they stop after a certain hour! So with the wind in his face, making it hard to breath, and the snow up to his knees, travel was practically impossible!! Seemingly, hours passed and the electrical rat was faltering in his footing; mainly because he had no feeling in his legs! Miraculously, he looked up and Ja Tarra’s building in the distance; her light was on, so he started trudging towards it. *Knock, knock* “Now who could that be at this hour and weather outside?” the cat inside wondered to herself. She unlocked the door from its many locking devices and opened it up a little, saw who it was then opened the door all the way. The visitor dropped into her arms, weary. “Megavolt!! Are you ok??!” No answer. “Oh god, are you alright?!!” She dragged him over to the couch and set him down then ran to the phone and dialed a few numbers, and listened. “DAMN! Phone lines are out!” She ran back to the frozen rat, removedhis coat and boots and gloves and got up on the couch with him. “Ooh! You’re absolutely frozen!!” Taking the blanket from the back of the couch, she wrapped him up in it and laid him down to rest of her to siphon body heat. After a while he came too. “Ja Tarra?!” “Hey, how’re you doing?” “Oh, I’m a lot warmer now; thanks.” Just then he noticed that he was on top of her. “Ja Tarra, why am I on top of you?!!” “I put you there so you could get some of my heat to warm you up.” “Oh! Well, thanks. It’s murder out there!!” “I know. I think everyone’s staying in for a while now.” “Yeah,” A pause. “Can I get up now?” “Sure, but do it slowly.” He gave her a puzzled look, but obeyed. “Say, are you hungry?” “Yeah; all that drudging through the snow makes you hungry like anything! Like an electric car that eats up batteries!” “Uh, yeah. I was about to make dinner, I’ll share with you, if you like?” “Sure!” Ja Tarra walked over to the kitchen and started working. “What are we having?” “Beef stew and bowtie pasta with peas and carrots.” “Umm, Ja Tarra?” “Yeah?” “You make whole, complete meals??!” “Yeah, why not?” “I’ve never met a villain that cooks!! We usually just eat whatever to hold over our hunger till we get hungry again!” “Well, this’ll be a nice treat for you!” “I guess so!” A thought came to his mind, “Are you a good cook?” “Well, everybody says so, but then again, everyone has their own opinion.” “Oh, true. Well, I hope I like it; I’ve never had ‘beef stew’, and whatever else you said, before.” “Oh you poor deprived soul! Here, just right, not too hot, not too cold. When I lived at home, my mother would make it really hot just to please my dad, and I would always burn my mouth on it! Heh.” She handed the bowl to him and sat down. “Thanks,” he said, taking it. He tried it and like it. “Hmm! This is good!! Ja Tarra! You can cook!!” “Yeah, well, my mom taught me.” “She must have been good too!” “Well, she never admitted it. I always said to her I liked her cooking and she would make fun that she burnt everything. My Dad makes the best spaghetti sauce!” “Really?” “Yeah.” After they finished dinner the cat washed everything and put it away. “So, what do you want to do now? I’m not throwing you back out in the cold!” “Oh! Well, we could…” Suddenly all the lights went out and did not come back on. “Oh crud.” “Ja Tarra, what just happened? I didn’t do anything!” “I know you didn’t do anything!” She looked at him with her glowing eyes. “We’ve got a blackout. Power lines must have failed with all the weight of the snow on them.” “Oh well. Well, at least we’re indoors! We’ll stay nice and warm!” “Huh, yeah right!” she said sarcastically as she wrapped herself in another blanket. “Why’s that?” “How do you think my apartment’s heated?” “Umm… Are you saying we’re gonna freeze anyway??!” “Yep! This has happened to me before! When I was in high school. We had an April Fools ice storm and didn’t have power for days. School was canceled Thursday and Friday. And all our fish died!” “Ooh! That’s terrible!” “Well, yeah, for the fish. I wasn’t attached to them. I was more concerned for my bird and the guinea pig. So my brother and I stayed in my room when we played to generate body heat for the animals.” “But don’t they have their own fur or whatever?” “Yeah, but we wanted to be sure.” “Oh, ok” Megavolt looked at his watch and activated the indigo. “It’s getting late. Why were you eating so late anyway?” “I attempted to go out there and commit crime, being that no one was going to bother me. Let’s just say I didn’t get too far.” “Yeah, I think the boss was like that too. He came back blue.” “Ooh!! How awful!” Ja Tarra thought a moment. “Did he look like a blue footed Booby?” First there was snickering, then hysterical laughter. What made them laugh even harder was when Megavolt answered, “Yeah!! He did!!” After they calmed down and all the snickering and wiping of eyes was finished with Ja Tarra suggested. “We outta go to bed. Not only is it late, but we need to wait this off.” “Alright. Do I get the guest room again?” “Sure,” Taking their blankets with them, they headed to their rooms and bid each other good night. Hours passed and Ja Tarra was cold and not getting a wink of sleep. “Maybe I can siphon some body heat off of Megavolt?” she said to herself. Getting up, putting on her slippers, and bringing the blanket with her, Ja Tarra made her way over to the guest room and went in, seeing the door open. Walking in, she shut it all the way and went over to the bed and whispered, “Megavolt?” “Yeah?” “I’m cold, can I sleep here?” “Huh? I, in here? With me?!” the rat was in shock that she wanted to sleep with him. “Yeah; I’m cold. I figured we could keep each other warm tonight.” “Wh, well, Ja Tarra…geez! Umm..” “Please? I won’t do anything! I’ll just stay on my side.” “Just so you’re not cold,” “Thanks!” She sat on the bed, removed her slippers, then got under the covers with the blanket still around her. “Good night Megavolt,” “Uh, good night Ja Tarra,” Later that night Ja Tarra woke up and looked to find herself snuggled up to Megavolt and he looking right back at her. “Hi,” she said quietly. “Hi,” he said back. “Heh, why are we like this?” “I got no clue.” “Oh,” “Ja Tarra?” “Yeah?” “Can you get your hand off my leg?” “Sorry; but maybe you could get your leg off mine?” “Er, sorry,” “Fair play.” “Huh??” “Never mind. Good night.” “Good night.” The next morning the two villains found themselves cuddling again. They looked at each other and smiled sheepishly. “Well, wanna see if power is back on so we can have breakfast?” Ja Tarra suggested. “Alright, but do you always eat three meals a day?” “Not every day; only when I’m hungry.” When they attempted to get up that cold air chilled them and they hid under the covers again. “Um, this isn’t going to be very productive, is it?” Megavolt summed “No, I guess not. Say, how about you take that blanket and I’ll take the other one?” “What about the cold floor?” “Well, I have my slippers…How about I let you borrow something of mine?” “Uh…” “Oh don’t worry! No one’s going to see what’s on your feet. And besides, my slippers aren’t exactly feminine either!” “Well, alright.” “Wait here and I’ll get my other pair, k?” “Sure,” As soon as Ja Tarra got out of bed Megavolt wrapped himself in the blankets and hid. Calling after her, he asked, “You aren’t going to tell anyone, are you?” “’Course not!” she called back. “Here we are…Uh…Megs?” Ja Tarra chuckled as she saw, or didn’t see, Megavolt. “You in there? How can you breath??! You silly guy!” “Huh?” he came out of hiding. “Oh there you are! I thought the blanket ate you!” He gave her a cockeyed look, but both had a good laugh about it. Both got up and went out, in the cold apartment, to see if it wasn’t crushed by the snow. “Well, my apartment’s still in one piece!” “Wow!! The cars are absolutely covered in snow!!” Megavolt said from the window. “Wow. Really?” “Yeah! ‘ be surprising if they weren’t all crushed!!” Ja Tarra looked at the clock for the appliances and they weren’t working. “Guess power’s still not back on.” “Oh well. What now?” The yellow cat went into a cabinet and dug out a box. “Pop-tarts anybody?” “We gonna eat them raw?” “Not unless you want to use your battery pack to supply the toaster oven with electricity?” “Not really,” “Then raw it is! I usually eat them raw anyway.” She handed one to Megavolt. He grimaced at it, then hesitantly look a bite. Ja Tarra was already through with her breakfast and Megavolt wasn’t even half way done when he asked, “Ja Tarra?” “Yeah?” “Why are you so nice to me? I mean, you’re attractive, I’m not, there’s nothing in common between us; what conversation could we converse in without loosing the other?” “Well, that’s all a rather complicated question. I don’t even know how we’re able to come up with things to talk about! Umm, well, I’m nice to you, cause…..” she’d rather not say. “What? C’mon, I want to know. I won’t get mad er anything. Please?” “Well, I like you….” “Really?” “Yeah. You’re a sweet guy, when you’re not trying to fry someone, or inventing, or with your appliances..” Megavolt interrupted her sentence. “Oh my god!! My appliances!!! I hope they’re ok!!” “I’m sure they’re fine!” “Aw, I outta go check!!” “You don’t….” He rushed off to get ready to go, then left without another word. “Have to,” Ja Tarra finished. She waved at the door once. “Be seeing ya!” she said to herself but directed to the departed rat. Continuing, she grumbled, “Fine, don’t say goodbye. Not like I’m important.” “Oh my poor babies! Are you all alright??!! Daddy’s here, have no fear!” The appliances remain silent. The phone rings. “Huh! Who could that be??!” The rat picks up the receiver. “Hello?” On the other line a terrified Ja Tarra yells at him, concerned, “Megs!! Where have you been??!!!” “Ja Tarra! I just got in!!” “You took all day!! I tried to get a hold of you all day and no answer!! I was worried sick!! I though you could have froze to death!!” “Ja Tarra! Calm down!! I’m fine!!” “ ‘Calm down’? ‘CALM DOWN’??!!!! How can I calm down when I’ve been worried sick about you??!!!” “You were worried?? About me??!!!!” “YES!!!!” He pauses a second in thought. “Wow. No one’s ever been worried about me before!” he said in amazement. “Thanks.” “Sure, but you ok??!!!” “Yeah, I’m fine. Are you ok, Ja Tarra??!!” “Yeah, now.” “Good. It sounded as if you were having a cardiac, y’ know?” They had a laugh about that. “Well, if everything’s fine, I guess I better go.” Ja Tarra suggested. “Ok,” “Do me a favor and stay in doors? Please??!!” “Sure, Ja Tarra. I might be insane, but I’m not stupid!!” “Ok!” she laughed. “Goodbye!” “See ya!” Click ************************************************************* “Megs’s sure been acting weird since he and Ja Tarra…” “Yeah.” “Well I think it’s cute!!” Quackerjack and the Liquidator stair at Bushroot. “Well they are!” “You’re weird! Go bark up another tree, er something!!” “You just don’t want to admit that we’re going to loose him to a girl!!” “Shut up, Veggie!” “Why don’t you come over here and make me, Cracker Jack!” “Hey! Alright!!! That’s it!!! You can make fun of me, but when you start with the Cracker Jack cracks, then it’s way out of line!!” The Liquidator watched as the ducks fought then turned his attention to Negaduck as he silently walked into the room on the far side as if he didn’t want to be noticed. As the ducks continued to fight the watery villain snuck behind Negaduck and listened through the hole in the door as he called someone on the phone. “Hi Dolly,……Yeah it’s me. I want to order a dozen roses for pickup………Number’s 737-6071……Thanks, see you soon Dolly. Bye.” Hiding behind the door, as it opened, the Liquidator hid from the masked mallard as he skulked out, undetected by the other two. ************************************************************* “Dearest, are you sure you’re alright??” asked a concerned wife. He said quietly, at first, then yelled, “For the last time, I’M FINE!!!” “Ok! I was just asking!” she said frightened. Negaduck glares at her another minute then realizes his mistake and forces the woman into his arms and holds her comfortingly. He hates it when he scares her like that, because when he holds her, she shivers. “I took the liberty of getting you something,” “You did?” “Yeah.” He reached behind his back and from the depths of his cape, he pulled out the dozen roses he had ordered earlier that day. Wrapping his free hand behind his back, Negaduck bowed and handed her the roses. She took them and he straightened himself. Then he gave her a passionate kiss that they wish lasted forever. After it broke she asked him, “I thought you hated flowers!” “I do, but I know you like them, so I figured I’d get you some to say I’m…apologetic for being moody this past week.” “Oh, how sweet! Thank you!” “Yeah, work’s been tough this week. But Michelle?” She looked up at him, half hidden in the roses as she absorbed their sent. Negaduck knew one of the reasons why he loved her; those dark brown eyes of hers. “What happened to that girl I fell in love with? You seem rather subservient instead of being more aggressive in your attitude, like you used to be.” Michelle simply shrugged. “I don’t want to loose you, not now, not ever again.” “You mind if I play devil’s advocate? Why would you care? Why do you need me? You were perfectly fine before me.” She tossed the flowers to the bed of their room. “Don’t do this to me. Don’t you dare talk like that!” “Why not?! A year ago you would’ve shot and killed me! I don’t know why you didn’t! We would’ve been better off if you did!!” “Stop! Stop!! You’re working yourself up over nothing! Just stop!” He could hear his voice quiver. “Make me! Shut me up for good, this time!” “No! Never!!” Negaduck scooped her up and held her tightly as he felt cooling tears roll down his cheek. As he held her, he could feel that even she was crying. Both were silent as they wept still feeling the pain that they gave the other in their hearts. “You must have had a bad life in your dimension to make you like this,” Negaduck summed up. “You think?!” They held each other a while longer, until they were calmer. Michelle fetched them both tissues. Then they heard the cry of their infant. Michelle started toward the door but as she reached it she turned back to see Negaduck sitting on their bed with the Kleenex in hand and had not yet wiped his eyes staring back at her. She disappeared from the doorway and set down the hall. While feeding her child, Michelle wasn’t expecting her husband to come in the room behind her and place his hands on her shoulders. “Why are you the only woman who can make me cry?” “Must have that touch, I guess,” Negaduck brushed her hair to the side and delicately started kissing he neck. ************************************************************* They sat there on the edge of the building looking over the city and the bay. She looked at him with longing eyes. He didn’t notice until she started talking. “Megs, I don’t want to ruin what we have…” Ja Tarra placed her hand on his. “But I can’t help myself…” She scooted closer to him. He moved his hand away from hers and moved away from her, uncomfortable with the contact. Ja Tarra stayed where she was and diverted her eyes down, leaving Megavolt looking at her. He was not too sure what to think. At a loss for words, he tried, desperately, to think of something to say. Finding nothing to say, they both kept quiet. It was an awkward silence as he sound of waves on the beach, the gulls, and the traffic behind them were the only things from a dead silence. They watched the sun set behind the horizon, then something came to Megavolt’s mind. “Well, I’m going to go commit crime. Wanna come?” “Na, you do it differently than I. You’re loud and brash. I’m a cat burglar. I like to not be noticed and secretive about it.” “Well suit yourself! See ya!” “Bye.” She hoped that nothing between them was ruined. ************************************************************* “Now my date with Morgana is ruined due to this blasted snow!!” Darkwing Duck complained. “Aw Dad, you’ll have other days you can go!” “Gos is right, DW. John Lockjaw said that it’s not good to go out there; ‘s too cold!” “But I don’t care what John Lockjaw says!! Not only is my date ruined, but Darkwing can’t go out to fight the felonious fiends that endanger the welfare of St. Canard!” “Dad! I don’t think they’re that stupid that they’ll go out in a perpetual snowstorm with temperatures reaching as low as –30!!” “Young lady where did you learn to talk like that?!!” “Science class,” Drake gave an incredulous look to no one. “We don’t say ‘stupid’ in this house, little missy!” “Oh, that,” she grumbled. “Well, the crime-o-meter hasn’t even sounded since the snow began!!” “We-ell…that could mean that the power’s down! It doesn’t necessarily mean that there is no crime out there that needs prevention!” Drake made up an excuse. “DW! It’s freezing out there! I don’t think villains are crazy enough to go out there in that weather!!” Launchpad tried to convince Drake. “Regardless! I’m the guardian of this city, and it is my duty to make sure all the citicezens are safe!” And with that, Drake Mallard sat on a chair in the TV room, punched down Baisle’s head and went spinning towards the towers of the Audubon Bay Bridge. ************************************************************* “I miss him.” Ja Tarra said to herself as she snuggled in her blanket, all alone, in the dark. She looked outside the window as the scraping noise of a plow made sparks on the street to clear the snow. She’d try to call him…if her phone lines weren’t down again. She sighed, thinking back to when they were in bed last night. She rather enjoyed his company. Ja Tarra shook her head violently. “No! No, I can’t let myself get sucked in again. ‘better for me if I died single...remember that.” she said to herself, sternly. Again letting out a sigh. “But I am lonely for attention…” She buried herself in her blanket and shivered. Thinking to herself she said, he’s nice to me, and all too! And…rather…appealing. Well, then again, I am lonely. I really can’t help myself! Oh man, I sometimes really hate decisions in life like this! Do I accept him, do I reject him?! I don’t want to hurt him or me!! “Arg! Darn it! Make up my mind!!” *Knock, knock* “Huh!? Who could that be?!” She got up to answer the door to her apartment. “Quackerjack! What are you doing here?!” “Sorry I didn’t call. I’m real sorry. But I tried and your phone lines aren’t working. I…kinda wanted to make sure you’re alright.” She gave him a cockeyed look. “Actually! I came over to apologize about being so mean to you when you helped Megs and I escape prison. That and…what do you think would be a good present for a girl? Like, a girl you really don’t know, but want to do something nice for?” “Aw! Quacky! You found a girl?” “No!! No way!!” “ ‘No’? Then…” “ ‘s for Megs!” “Really?! Uh…well,” She felt kinda bad about saying anything that could risk her happiness but didn’t want to ruin his. After all, she didn’t want to interferer with someone else’s relationship. “Uh, I suppose he could just be himself and get her or make something for her that’s pure his idea. If she’s really the right one for him she’ll love it no matter what it is!” “Oh really?! So that’s how it works??!!” “Yeah, didn’t you get the memo?” They both laugh. “Care to come in and warm yourself by the fire?” “Ja Tarra, you don’t have a fire going!” “I know that! ‘ just being courteous! You’re not going back out there are you?” “It’s not as bad as it was, but it’s still murder.” “So why not spend the night if it’s that bad out?” “Well, the boss’ll have my head nailed to his door…y’ know.” “Ah. Well, if you must…” “I must.” “Safe journeys then?” “Thanks! TTFN! Ta ta for now!” “Bye,” He left and she closed and locked her door. “Odd. He came asking about Megavolt’s affairs!” She shook her head and headed to bed. ************************************************************* “She said that?!” “Yeah! Heard it with my own ears! Can you believe that?!” “No! Outta my way, you Sunday driver!!” “Gee Megs, you outta switch to deaf.” “Huh! As easily as you!” “Oh.” Quackerjack thought a moment. “So, what are you going to do?” “Umm…now that… Hey! Traffic violator here! Go learn to drive! Er…I had an idea.” “Yeah?! Tell me?” “No! It’s a secrete!! I don’t want you to tell her!! ‘sides, I can’t believe you went to her to ask! I bet she knows for sure now!” “Actually, she seemed to answer the question as if didn’t apply to her. I bet she feels bad because of it. You can cheer her up with your surprise! It’ll be even easier now!” “Oh! That’s just like you to make someone feel bad!!” Quackerjack pouted to himself, “Well, you the one who fries them!” Back at Megavolt’s lighthouse, he thought about what to do for Ja Tarra. “Well, what would she like?” In the back of his mind he heard, She’ll love whatever you decide to give her! “Well, I could give her a bouquet! But that’s not really like me…” All at once, he just started pulling some spare pieces together to see what his subconsciousness would do. “Oh! Hi Megavolt! What a nice surprise, but you know you really outta call.” “Er, your phone lines were down!” “Dag-nab-it! Quackerjack said the same thing!! I wonder if I have a squirrel in my walls er something! Cause my phone’s working phone fine fer me, now!” “Well, maybe. Umm…I came over to…give you this,” She gasped with delight. “Aw! Megs! It’s so wonderful!” It was a heart shaped piece of electronics with a design of circuitry that looked like Megavolt in the middle. “It works too!” He flipped a delicate switch and lights turned on and red ones flashed around the outline of the heart and yellow around the picture.” “Aw, isn’t that sweet?!” She leapt into his arms and hugged him, out of habit from her home. Megavolt smiled widely, knowing he was successful. She released her hold on him. “So, you like it?” “Oh, I love it!” She turned it off and propped it up on a shelf for her to observe. She stood back and stared at it. Megavolt came over to her and cautiously rested an arm around her shoulders. She looked at him, then gave him a hug. The electrical rat hugged her back, then looked into her eyes. He could feel his heartbeat and hers, close to him. He nuzzled her delicate little whiskers with his snout, then closed his eyes, enjoying the contact she allowed. She got closer to him to kiss him. He let her and she liked it. The contact would have lasted longer if not for the phone to ring. Ja Tarra gave a disgusted throaty noise at the interruption. She answered the phone, “Yeah?” “Uh, hi, this is your Ringer ‘Round the World provider calling. Er…we got your phones working, Miss,” “Ahem, little obvious isn’t it?” “Huh? Oh.” *Click* “Moron.” She puts the earpiece back in its cradle. “Of course the phone’s working if you call and get an answer,” “Oh, sorry” “Aw, it’s not your fault, Megs! People just don’t think these days, do they?” “No, not really,” “I’m sorry for the interruption. Now…where were we?” she winked. Megavolt did a double take and then a smile grew on his face. He chuckled with delight and embrrasment. “Ya wanna head to the couch?” “Er, well…I do have things I gota do before I meet with the gang tonight…” “Oh, well; if you must,” “Yeah, I must. Sorry.” Hea headed for the door. She walk over to him and he opened the door. “Hey, shit happens and you can’t do anything about it. It’s ok, really!” “Thanks Ja Tarra,” “No, thank you,” she kissed his snout for the present and after he blushed he was on his way. |
