| Negalove Kilthalia It was Valentines Day in St. Canard and, as always, Darkwing Duck had planned to take Morgana McCobber out to the carnival, to make up for last year’s disaster. “Maybe this time Negaduck won’t show up.” He grumbled. “Come on Dad! Negaduck always manages to ruin your good days! It’s like tradition already!” “Well, he’s not going to ruin this Valentine’s Day!” “Why? What’d you do with him?” “I sent that slime back where he came from.” he said coolly. Launchpad entered the room eating the contents of a potato chip bag. With a mouth full he says, “Hey DW, isn’t it time you get going to see Morgana?” “LP, don’t talk while you chew.” Launchpad swallows. “Sorry DW,” “That’s ok LP. Just don’t do it next time.” Darkwing gets on his motorcycle. “Well, I’m off. Don’t wait up for me, gang.” “Bye,” Launchpad says with another stuffed mouth of chips. “Have a good time Dad!” Gosalyn as the Ratcatcher drove off. As Darkwing drove to McCobber Manor, he thought nothing could go wrong this time. Then, as he pulled closer to the Manor he spied an all too familiar vehicle. No…no!! NO!! The doorbell rang and Morgana got up to answer it. She cried happily, “Dark!” He stomped in. “Where is he?!” he growled. “Darling?” He ignored her and went in search of his felonious twin. When he couldn’t find him Darkwing retired to Morgana. “Where is he, Morg?!” he accused. “Who, Dark, darling?” “Negaduck!!” She gave him a shocked and confused look. “That is his motorcycle outside your house, is it not?!” he interrogated. “Sure as hell it is, Dorkwing,” said a deep gruff voice behind him. Darkwing whipped around and spied his evil twin, who was smiling maliciously, leaning on the doorframe. “Negaduck!” Darkwing screamed in rage. Negaduck straightened his posture and slowly nodded once. “Oh, poor baby upset at my return?” As Negaduck laughed, Darkwing turned beet red, in anger. Morgana broke it up. “Now boys, can’t we get along here?! If you at least make the effort!” “But I sent him back to…” Darkwing whined. “Yeah! And now I’m back!!” Negaduck confirmed. “Enough bickering you two let’s just go to the carnival,” Morgana said, first angry, then mildly vexed. The three walked outside and own the beaten path to the vehicles. Negaduck went to his and Darkwing to his own. “Negaduck, you’re not coming with us?” Morgana asked. “Hell no! I wouldn’t be caught dead on that thing with…that sitting next to you!!” “Hey! Watch it, Banana bill!! I can still take you to jail!” “Boys! Enough!!” “’Sides, “ Negaduck started his vehicle. “I got someone to pick up!” The Trouble Maker roared away leaving Morgana and Darkwing in a thick cloud of pollution. “*cough* I *cough, cough* hate him *cough*!!” “C’mon *cough* Dark, darling, let’s *cough* go to the carnival. Maybe he’ll catch up with us.” “That’s what I’m afraid of!” Darkwing started The Ratcatcher and took off in the opposite direction. As they drove the speed limit through the city, Morgana complained, “I don’t understand why you and Negaduck always fight.” “He’s a villain! He will never learn to love or to be able to care about anything but himself!” “That may be, but you’re always at each other’s throat and your behavior tonight was totally inappropriate!!” “Say that when he’s breaking down the doors to innocent families homes and stealing all their possessions.” He murmured. “Dark!!” Oops! She heard him! With guilt riding with him, the rest of the drive remained silent. Darkwing would occasionally glance at Morgana, riding in the sidecar to see if she was mad at him. She was. After what seemed like eternity, for Darkwing, they finally arrived and the St. Canard Valentine’s Day Fair. He parked The Ratcatcher and exchanged his helmet for his hat. “Morg, I’m sorry. I don’t know what came over me. Please forgive me?” “Oh Dark, Darling, of course!” She removed his hat and kissed him on his head. “Just stop fighting with Negaduck when he come over!” When she turned away from him Darkwing grit his teeth and grumbled. He stopped and took her hand and they walked in. Just as they stopped to look around at the happy crowd a voice called out, “Hey! What took you so long, Dorkwing??!” Darkwing whipped his attention to his identical evil twin. “Negaduck!” DW complained. In turn, Negaduck grinned, evilly. “Negaduck?” Morgana asks. “Who’s that?” A girl, of around the same height as the dark duck is at his side. “My girlfriend,” He turns to her and holds her hand. At the same time, Darkwing’s jaw dropped, Morgana exclaimed, “Negaduck! That’s wonderful!” “Just don’t spread the word!!” “Oh, of course not! Right, my Dark, darling?” He grumbled something. “What’s that Dark, darling?” Negaduck mocks. “I said ‘fine’, Negadrip!!”” “Dork face!!” “Negaslime!!” “STOP!!” Morgana zapped both of them to a nice charcoal black. The twins coughed and started brushing themselves off. Negaduck’s girlfriend helped dust him off. “So, what’s your name?” Morgana said pleasantly, all of a sudden, to Negs's girl. “Michelle. What’s it to you? Why would you care? You’re a good guy!” she said sharply. “Well, it givers me something to call you!” Morgana retorted, just as sharply. Michelle narrowed here yes at the witch, when Morgana turned away. Negaduck snatched Michelle’s face and turned her head toward him. “As I will try not to kill them!” “It’ll be difficult, hon.,” “I know it will. Just try and humor the idiots.” He briefly kissed her, when the good duo weren’t looking. “C’mon,” They usually don’t kiss in public, but Negaduck saw that she needed it just then. The four of them went walking around, only this year, the guys weren’t trying to kill each other. The most serious incident was when the guys started poking at each other, behind Morgana’s back, and the other accused the other, whom denied it. They came upon The Tunnel Of Love, which last year served as a death trap for the hero, and a playground for the villain. For some reason, Morgana thought Negaduck would behave himself, this time. “Negaduck, do you mind if Darkwing and I take this ride?” “Not at all. Have a good time, kids. And remember, no rough stuff!” as he said that, he shoved them into the gaudy swan boat. Negaduck waved bye as they drifted into the tunnel, and out of sight. “Finally!! They’re gone!!” Negaduck rushed over to the back of the bench, where Michelle was sitting. He hopped over and landed closely to her. “I thought they’d never leave!!” he sighed a he rested his bill on his fists, which were resting on his knees. “Aw, my poor sweetie!” she cooed as she rubbed his back. He sighed deeply. As a mother and a carriage walked by, Negaduck snatched the unwrapped candy from the baby, without her seeing. The baby started crying. Negaduck gave the lollipop to Michelle. “A sweet, for my sweet.” “Oh yer such a romantic guy!” She took it, unwrapped it, and then started dissolving the candy in her mouth. After a minute, Negaduck looked up at her with the candy, taking his attention away from the ground, and wondered what flavor it was and if it was good, or maybe she was just doing that to please him; after all, he did get it for her. Only a couple hundred questions went through his mind. Finally, he decided to take action. “Hey, lemme…” Before he could finish saying anything she offered the lollipop to him. He took it and continued where she left off. After a little while, “Ok, give it back,” Michelle said, half playfully, half impatiently. Negaduck wouldn’t relinquish it that easily. Michelle forced to snatch it away from her boyfriend, still holding the stick. The two of them, in competition, tried to get the taste, too stubborn to give it up to the other. Negaduck eventually gave up the fight, when he had enough, sat up straight, letting Michelle have it all. He licked his lips, and remembered the taste and went back to get another taste of the lollipop, as it was still in her mouth. She took out the sweet candy so they could kiss. There they held each other, kissing each other passionately, not caring if anybody saw. To them, the world was not there. All that was there was them. At this time, the ride Darkwing and Morgana went on ended and they got out of the swan and went into the open and spotted the good twin’s evil side. “Dark! Look!” “Oh my…” Darkwing was at a loss of words. “ ‘Never learn to love’, huh? I guess Negaduck just proved you wrong, Dark,” “Yeah,” He stated walking over toward Negaduck and Michelle. “Hey, Negs! I never knew…” He was cut off by the murderous look on both of their faces, as they momentarily paused in their love. Darkwing was forced to retreat back to Morgana, less he be dead by their looks of death. Morgana thought it was best if, for her and Darkwing, that they left them alone. She took her date by the arm and led him away. “Gees, Morg, if looks could kill, I’d be a fathom under!!” “Dark, darling, is she from the Negaverse?” “I don’t know, Morgana.” “Maybe when they’re ready we’ll ask.” “At the rate they’re going, we’ll never have to listen to Negaduck complain again!” “Dark!” He turned around to look at the two on the bench, kissing. “Well…Look at them!!” “Yes. I think it’s wonderful for him!” “C’mon, Morg. Let’s go on a ride or something.” “While we wait?” “Wait for Negaduck??! I never thought I’d hear that said!” he looked at the ground, confused. Back on the bench the two sighed as their kiss broke. “Mmm. Negaduck, that was…wonderful,” “Yeah,” he said dreamily. He reached over and pulled her close to hug her. She sighed. “Maybe we should catch up with them?” “Na! Why don’t we go back and feed The Lads? I know you always like doing that. And besides, all this sappy happiness is making me sick!” “Ditto!” she said as she jumped to her feet. They started walking out of the carnival. “I think your Doberman’s are good dogs,” “Yeah, but they have a tendency to have selective hearing,” Michelle laughed because it was true. The Lads only listened to their orders that went along the lines of destruction, playing, and food. When they got back to his hideout/home they fed The Lads and watched them tear apart the hunk of beef thigh. Watching the stars in the dead of night, listening to Kokomo and drinking tea that Michelle made. She sighed, looking up at the diamonds in the sapphire sky. “I hope life will be just like this after we’re married,” “I’m sure it will,” he said, sounding skeptical. She snapped her head toward him. “Of course! This is so romantic!! Don’t you like it?” “I’d like it better if we were in the 50,000 acre backyard on a tile porch in expensive lawn chairs, rolling in green backs, after we killed Darkwing and destroyed St. Canard,” “Aw,” They were silent for a few minutes. “It’s like, 40 degrees out here. I hope Dipwing’s freezing his tail feathers off.” Michelle commented. Negaduck chuckled. “Yeah. C’mere,” Michelle got up and sat on his lap. “Why? I’m not cold.” “Yeah, but I am,” “Aw, poor baby!” She kisses the corner of his beak and he rubs her upper arm. They looked up at the stars, shining brightly, that night. Negaduck breaks the silence, “I wonder what’s there for us in the future.” “The future’s what you make of it, dear. It’s not yet written.” Negaduck thought about that for a minute. “You wanna go inside and write some of our future?” With this, he stood up, with her in his arms, and carried her indoors, both laughing, playfully.
