A NOTE ON LINEAGE SOCIETIES

One of the uses of genealogies like this is to establish a beginning point for readers making application to patriotic and heritage societies like the Sons of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Revolution, Society of Mayflower Descendants and, in this case, even the United Empire Loyalists.

The societies will usually require somewhat more documentation than it is practical to include in a genealogy but, with the help of the references that are included in this family history, it should be possible to assemble the necessary citations or photocopies to support the applicant.

Some of the groups are: Hendrick Hudson Chapter,
Daughters of the American Revolution Columbia Chapter,
Sons of the American Revolution Albany Colony,
Society of Mayflower Descendants Palatines to America,
New York Chapter Huguenot Society of America Dutch Settlers
Others may be found in the Heritage Society Bluebook in most local libraries.
