Welcome
October 2003

Hello, Friends. I suppose that I could tell you a bit about me. I'm not quite the flighty teen I was in high school. Now you get me a little more mellow and you take me as I am or not at all. I am still opinionated!  ;-)  I started Weight Watchers in February of the year, 2003 and have easily lost 35 lbs and still working on more. I'm tickled to death. Thought I'd have to "DIET" to lose weight!

I have 3 kids that I wouldn't trade for the world! They are my heart and the sunshine in my life! Two boys , James, 25 and  Justin, 13 and my beautiful daughter Merri, 23. I'm also Grandma twice, Eythan and Braydan. 4 years and 4 mos old respectively.  I have managed marriage and divorce twice. That in itself is a sober thought, but I am happy now and I suppose that is what counts.I'm 44 this year, it doesn't seem possible. Seems like just yesterday....

Ah, well, now some about me. ;-) I enjoy the internet and computing in general,  chatting with family and friends.Time hasn't changed my ability to talk too much! :-) 6 years ago I moved back home. Spent too many years away.

I do so enjoy the outdoors, but prefer the cooler, balmy days of Spring and the crisp ones of Fall to the searing heat of Summer or bitter cold of Winter. Camping is only fun in Spring and Fall of the year. The only time Summer is fun is during the afternoon rainstorms we get here! :-) Winter... now that is something I have never really liked too much of, except when there is a new fallen snow. That is when I prefer the comfort of home. Justin and I put in a small garden and in anticipation of my veggies dying off as they have done the last 3 years, I overloaded on Tomatoes. Whoa, howdy! We had tomatoes out the wazoo, this summer. We wound up with about 2 dozen watermelons and zucchini that really went wild. My peppers, especially the Habaneros, well.... finally just yanked the plants up as I couldn't keep up with them. And all I did was just move the garden area a few feet from the old one, I promise.

Justin is always a big help and actually likes to mow this giant yard we have. Of course it takes him no time with the big walk-behind. LOL, not like when I was a kid mowing it with the little 20 inch one we had.  We've had a couple of bar-b-q's at the neighbors . Seems like this old neighborhood hasn't changed too much. We had hummingbirds and Orioles at the feeders this year. I was quite tickled at that. Altho I tend to take my hummers for granted as they always come, seeing the Orange Orioles was really a neat sight for sore eyes. I also got to see a new (for me) type of wood pecker this year at the feeders and I'm trying to decide if the wonderful bright Blue bird that comes to the finch feeder is an indigo bunting or a mountain blue bird. It is the same size as the gold finches, so I'm leaning toward the Bunting. .

I still  enjoy reading (historical novels, westerns, sci-fi just to name a few types of them). Llistening to music from the 60's, 70's and 80's. I also enjoy jazz, classical and modern Christian. Guess they call it Contemporary Christian. :-) I don't watch much TV, but enjoy shows such as the "Star Treks" ,
Drew Carey, Raymond and I've gotta have my news.  I prefer News and talk  radio. I have become an avid listener of Talk Radio during the day while I work and I'm a proud
Tom Becka listener (our local Talk Guy, very opinionated! )  on KMBZ along with their syndicated shows.  I've discovered that as I've grown older I have amazingly turned into my mother. If you'd have told me that these would be my interests twenty years ago, I'd have thought you nuts! LOL . I've even been bitten by the genealogy bug.  I've become a bit of a fiend about it.  I have met many wonderful people doing this family history stuff and wouldn't trade that for the world! My History teachers, Miss Gargotta and Mr. Perry,  would be amazed at my passion for history now.  I might even be able to get an A. ;-)

Over the years I have lived in Japan, Colorado, Georgia and Florida and ever so glad to be back home in Kansas City . There just doesn't seem to be any place better than home in my mind! :-) I am once again, self employed.  I like the freedom that I have in what I do and the fact that I can be with my youngest when he is at home. Would love to hear from you. You can reach me by letter at :
