Freeze Branding
Is a safe and effective way to permanently identify your property (horse, Llama, cattle, etc.).

It takes a few minutes (properly restrained or trained animals) to do a brand

I charge $15.00 to brand animals.  For groups of 20 animals or more it is $13.00.  In order for me to come out and brand your animal you must have a group of fifteen (15) or more.  This is for a radius of sixty miles, if over that I charge mileage @ .40c/mile.

A freeze brand or tattoo is like your cars license plate or a visual means of identification.  The microchip is like your VIN number a hidden and permanent identification of your car and some of its vital parts.  The chip unlike a brand cannot be changed.  It is not as difficult to alter or change brands/tattoos as people may think.

What you will need in order for me to put a brand your animal.
Proof of ownership from one or more of the following:
a.  Registry paperwork must be the original – copies are not valid.
b.  Coggins -  a mandatory coggins is necessary for any animal off their permanent premise, please provide the original as a copy is not valid.  A coggins will provide both animal identification and proof of ownership.  Be sure your coggins matches the animal you bring.  Some folks have inadvertently produced the wrong ones and were a bit surprised when I would not brand their animal.
c.  Bill of sale the original and copy to be left with me for my paper trail.
d.  For those of you with weanling foals who have not sent in paperwork, get a note from your Veterinarian or bring your mare with the foal.  The foal must still be nursing and the mare attentive to it.
e.  You must provide your copy of the Certificate of Registration of Marks and Brands from your County that shows your county seal.  This piece of paper has your brand number, name of brand, location of brand and what type of animal can have the brand placed on.
Texas has 254 counties and each county is registered separately, the brand you have may also be used in another county.
f.  You Must provide your drivers license or form of permanent identification for our paperwork.

I recommend you spend the money and have a personal brand made.  You can go to just about any welding/fabrication facility and have one made up call around first, they generally run around a hundred dollars.  The iron for freeze branding needs to be made of copper (best and most expensive) or bronze allow or a copper mix alloy.  Steel will not hold the cold and your brand will probably not show up or will blotch.  I will only guarantee brands made from copper or bronze.  The face of the irons should be rounded to uniformly transfer the cold from the iron to the skin

Before you have a brand made go to your local county court house and research your brand and then register it.  The brand size needs to be no more than 3.5 inches by 4 inches (this is for a combination of 2 or more letters or symbols) otherwise the brand may not uniformly transfer the cold from the iron to the skin.

I can freeze brand with either liquid nitrogen (best but more expensive) or dry ice (takes longer to brand and chill the irons).
