Today we talked about kitchen safety. Topper Toast Puppet talked about things we use in the kitchen like a stove, measuring cups, bowls, and spoons. We sang a song called, “If You’re in the Kitchen” (to the tune of “If Your Happy and You Know It“). We talked about never touching a stove and always asking a grownup for help when cooking. We used small pans and pretended the pans were hot. We used a hot mitt. We matched some printed pictures of hot mitts to their pair. We colored a picture of a hot mitt. We explored a measuring cup and put water in it. We tried to guess how much water a bowl would hold and then measured water into it. The kids loved pouring the water. We used mittens and pretended they were hot mitts and held a bag with a warm washrag in it. We read a book called, “Safety First”. We did Calendar Time and Weather Bear.
