| Lesson 2 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
Today we talked about November being Native American Heritage Month. We learned Native Americans are people whose families were the first people to live in America. Long ago Native Americans made pottery, some of them still make it today. Pottery was often used to hold food or water. Our puppet, Topper Toast showed us some pottery. We made some pottery out of clay. We looked at some Indian corn with magnifying glasses. We strung some beads on string and tried them on. They looked like beads Native Americans might have worn. We tried on an Indian headband, although Native Americans today dress like we do and only wear traditional clothing for special gatherings like powwows. We read a book called, “Whoever You Are”. We did Calendar Time and Weather Bear. |
