Kimberly's Day Care
Today we talked about being patient. Topper Toast Puppet told us being patient means not getting upset when you have to wait. We talked about times when it is hard to be patient. The kids thought times it was hard for them to be patient was when they had to wait for their turn to play with a toy or waiting for their birthday to come. We looked at a display and said a rhyme called “Be Patient”. We talked about singing a song or other things we could do while we wait. We did a floor puzzle together and each waited our turn to put our pieces in. We used our patience. We played with the Toast and Butter Game and gave stuffed animals each a piece of toast we sung to them to help them have patience while they waited for their piece of toast and butter. We played a fun game where we through a bean bag on printed numbers of 1, 2, 3, and 4 and what ever number it landed on we jumped up and down that many times. We painted and we had to have patience to wait for our paint to dry to put the pictures in our cubbies. We did Calendar Time and Weather Bear.
~~~Special note: Kimberly got to use her patience today. Shawnee County Health Agency came by today for their annual inspection. These visits are unnanounced. The inspector checks home safety and all paper work. They have over 100 questions they check and usually stay about two hours. (That can try any one's patience.) The inspector came durring nap time, which was nice as it didn't inturupt the kid's schedule to much. We were still able to do pre-school and all our normal activities. I am very pleased to say I was in full compliance/ nothing found unsafe and all paper work in order. I had only one non-compliance. (The non-compliance is so minor it's almost silly, I think they have to find something or they feel they are not doing their job.) The non compliance was "Own child did not have 4th DPT". Isabelle has not had her 4th DPT vaccine yet. (Her appointment is November 15th and she is scheduled for it then.) So you can rest assured your children are in a safe enviornment.
