Lesson 7

Today we focused on vegetables, especially carrots. Topper Toast Puppet talked to us about staying healthy. Some of the things we can do to stay healthy are exercise, get plenty of rest, and eat healthy foods; especially vegetables, like carrots. We sang a song called “Carrots” (to the tune of “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”). We read our Caillou book, “Caillou Waits for Dinner”. We talked about what kind of healthy foods Caillou likes to eat. We need to eat healthy foods like vegetables every day so we can grow big and strong like Caillou. We sorted plastic toy vegetables and plastic toy dessert  foods. We looked at some cookbooks and found some healthy foods. We did a science experiment, we cooked raw carrots. They got soft. Then we ate them. Yum! We looked at a display and said a rhyme called “Eating Vegetables”. We colored a picture of a carrot and glued some green yarn on top.  We did Calendar Time (our calendar pieces this month are a cornucopia and there are vegetables in it). We did Weather Bear.
