Today we talked about mosaics. We learned it is a form of Hispanic art. (This is Hispanic Heritage Month). We also learned a mosaic is a picture made by arranging small pieces of colored material that make a design. Sometimes like ceramic tiles or glass. We made a mosaic out of colored tissue paper and sticky paper. Patty the Pumpkin Puppet showed us a display of kids in a pumpkin patch and we said a rhyme “Pick a Pumpkin.” We talked about wither we would choose a big pumpkin or a little one if we were the kids in the picture. For snack we had pumpkin empanadas (em-pah-NAH-dahs). They are dough with pumpkin filling. Most of the kids really liked them. We did and Calendar Time and Weather Bear.
