Kimberly's Day Care
October 20 ~ Wednesday
Today we talked about Deinonychus. He was a meat eating dinosaur. Patty the Pumpkin showed us a picture of a Deinonychus, he had three fingers on each hand and they had very long claws. We sang a song called, “Deinonycus” (to the tune of “Oh, My Darlin’ Clementine”). We worked with our Firefighter Math Manipulative. We matched 1, 2, and 3 firefighters with printed numerals on cards of
1, 2, and 3. We played a game called, “Don’t Wake Deinonychus”. One child was the dinosaur and pretended to be asleep, the other children snuck up and asked the dinosaur if he was awake. If he said “no” then the children ran away. The kids thought this was so much fun. We made a picture that looked like dinosaur scratching. We used plastic forks and spread paint around. We read a book called “Dinosaur Babies“. We did Calendar Time and Weather Bear.
