Kimberly's Day Care
October 21 ~ Thursday
Today we studied about volcanoes. We made a volcano out of play dough. The kids each took some play dough and mixed color into it and then we put all the play dough together and the kids took turns shaping it into a volcano. We put baking soda inside of the volcano and the kids then took turns pouring in the magic red liquid (vinegar with red food coloring). The volcano foamed! They loved it. We colored pictures of volcanoes, when you lift the flaps on the pictures it looked like the volcanoes were erupting. Patty the Pumpkin sang us a song called, “Volcanoes” (to the tune of “The Battle Hymn of the Republic”). We found a picture of a volcano on our Prehistoric Poster. The kids had great fun learning today. We did Calendar Time and Weather Bear.
