Today we learned about the Edmontosaurus. This dinosaur was a plant eater. He liked to eat plants, seeds, and pinecones. He had a face like a ducks and short arms and its hand’s looked like mittens. We put on mittens and pretended to be an Edmontosaurus. Patty the Pumpkin came and sang us a song called Edmontosaurus (to the tune of “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”). We found a picture of an Edmontosaurus on our Prehistoric Poster. We found it by looking for a dinosaur with hands like mittens. We reviewed our “Helping Others Display”. We practiced helping each other. We tried to build a block tower with mittens on. It was hard to do, so we helped our friends. We made an Edmontosaurus puppet. We practiced ordering skills with our Firefighter Math Manipulative. We put the firefighter in order the firefighter with the ax first, then the firefighter with the hose, and the firefighter with the mask last. We then did it again by mixing the order; practicing “first, then next, then last”. We did Calendar Time and Weather Bear.
