October 27 ~ Wednesday
Today we talked about one of Kimberly’s favorite dinosaurs, the Triceratops. We learned it was a plant eater and it ate plants, sticks, and twigs. We had pretzel sticks for snack and pretended they were sticks. We focused on the number three today. Triceratops had three horns on its head. Patty the Pumpkin came and sang a song called Triceratops (to the tune of “If Your Happy and You Know It”). We found a picture of a Triceratops on our Prehistoric poster. We located it by finding the dinosaur with three horns on it’s head. We played a game with three cone shaped cups. (The cones looked like triangles and like Triceratops horns.) Kimberly put a ball under one of the three cups. She then mixed the cups around. We counted the three cups and tried to guess which cup the ball was under. We colored a picture of a Triceratops and glued three triangles on its head for its horns. We practiced counting out three firefighters on our Math Manipulative. We did Calendar Time and Weather Bear.
