Cass and Leehom
Hongkong queen of pop, Cass Pang's first mandarin album with Sony Music is finally coming out. The album is titled, Love Cass (hao hao ai peng ling). This new album is full of happiness and also contains different styles of music which shows the how happy Cass is after she is married. As a result, Sony music decided to rope in Leehom to sing a duet entitled, Let Me Have Warmth (rang wo qu nuan).
Both parties have been admiring each other for a long time. For Cass, it is Leehom's Revolution and Impossible to Miss You albums whereby she would listen to the albums repeatedly. For Leehom, he likes Cass's latest Cantonese release, A Flower (yi zhi hua) for the class and glamour of the album. Also, Leehom also looks upon Cass's singing powers and also her superb choice of songs. As a result, when Sony Music approached them for the duet, both parties agreeded almost instantaneosly. While recording the song, both Cass and Leehom attempted different singing styles so as to compensate for the difference in vocal range. Cass switched to a more gentle style of singing and at the same time lowered the tone of her singing.
On the other hand, Leehom has to raise the tone of his singing. This change eventually resulted in late night recordings and finally ending at 3 in the morning. However, both parties are very pleased with the result. Leehom feels that his vocal range has extended while Cass expressed that the compatibility of the both of them is really great.
After Cass's marriage, her songs' style have taken a change with slow songs, R&B, rock, folk and others. Her image is also given a new look, giving a more matured Cass. All these caused Leehom to exclaim, 'Wah! Beautiful!!' when he saw Cass.
The filming of the MTV of this song is also not easy. The day before the filming, Hongkong experinced a typhoon and the torrential rainfall and fast winds almost forced the crew to abandon their plans. However, the next day was very fine as the typhoon had changed its course. The MTV was shot at a beach in Hongkong. Along the journey, they passed by a villa whereby Leehom exclaimed that it was like he was on a vacation. This remark caused Cass to laughed out loud and thus she has a great impression of Leehom. She also ask for songs from Leehom whereby Leehom readily agrees. The success of this first cooperation make us look forward to future projects together.
