Leehom has a nine-year old drummer idol?

LeeHom reminisced about his past and shared his feelings of how he felt when he was discovered while participating some competitions, in "LeeHom Searching for Malaysia's Leehom" music competition. He was also touched by the creativity of the preformance put up by the contestants.

The competition was held in the grounds of ICOM music college. Besides Leehom being one of the judges and guest preformer, there were other people judging the event: Sonymusic's chinese section manager Lee Shu Mei, Wanita's managing director Wu Jin Hua, Idol magazine head editor Ah Meng and musician Yu Yong Jing. The results are based on 50% performance and 50% creativity.

Although his promotion schedule is fully packed for his few days in Malaysia, the wearisome Leehom seemed very zestful, often encouraging the contestants and even clapping and shouting aloud in praise. However, the contestant that won the most praise from leehom is a nine-year little drummer, Arthur. Leehom was like a fan, shouting Arthur's name after he has completed his performance, causing some confusion for little Arthur who looked up from his drums, wondering who was that shouting his name aloud.

Sharing his personal competition experience.

Leehom shared his past exprience of joining singing competitions. Being a student in Boston's Berklee College of Music, LeeHom encouraged friends who are deciding to further their studies and of course not forgetting to advertise his college.
After enjoying the skit "Chicken", presented by ICOM music school's students, LeeHom went up the stage and present the song "When I Fall In Love".

In the "LeeHom Searching for Malaysia's Leehom" competition, the winner was ICOM music school's Genevie and his group of friends who presented a medley of "Mary Says", "Julia" and "Impossible to Miss You". They walked away with a Sony LaserDisc player, a Sonymusic hamper worth about Rm500, a Wanita hamper worth Rm 300, a month's subscription of Idol magazine and a large LeeHom poster .

Among the 5 partners, the most outstanding was the only female partner, who played the piano and violin. Also, the little nine-year old drummer was her brother! Leehom complimented little Arthur as "Very good", when he was giving away the prizes. The little kid in turn responded with a "You are not bad yourself", causing a roar of laughter from the audience.

The first runner-up, Ye Jun Guan performed "Crying Palms" and the second runner-up was the 10 man-strong band consisting of Jason and his friends, performing "The Wound is Love's Diary" and "One of These Days". The third runner-up, Liang Han Yao and Huang Yao Hui, performed "Revolution" and "Loving You = Loving Myself". The physically handsome duo even had supporters there! The fourth runner-up was Huang Yu Xiang, playing the piano and singing to "White Paper" and "Descendants of the Dragon"
