The entertainment industry is no fantasy palace. If you are very popular, you can command all that you want. However otherwise, you can only wallow your unhappiness in silence. Alternatively, those "waiting to be popular" or "going to be popular" people can offer half a thought or sentence when met with setbacks. Then again, these thoughts or sentences can only go so far, only the artiste know the pain and sacrifices made.
To speak or not to speak..
With regards to the topic of popularity, Lee Hom expressed that he has been through all that and is still surviving it. He does not like to fight with others in status rank. He would perfer to keep silent if met with such circumstances. However, Leehom spilled his heartfelt thoughts on the loss of the opportunity to work with Noriko Fujiwara (female lead of CSF) for the theme song. It has been rumoured that Aaron Kwowk was the force being the "breakup". Rumours will be rumours...no one will know. This is the a perfect example of being popular and otherwise.
Popular or not...
On the day of the interview, the topic was diverted to how Leehom felt when he was picked by the media to be a future "hottie" then.
"Being popular or not is not very important to me. I would not give myself additional pressure just because people think highly of me. I would also not do any additional things to make myself popular. Although i participated in many films this year, music still ranks tops in importance. I rather spend all my time on music."
Fair or otherwise?
On the topic of the enterainment circle, being popular is very important. Leehom replies, "Some people say that the enterainment circle is never fair. The proportion of the effort put in, is never equivalent to the rewards reaped. However, I would not mind it, I believe in hard work and someday somebody will see my efforts."
Well, words are easy to say. Hopefully after the incident of "snatching" song, Leehom will finally realise the difference between being popular and not.
