Two Days
Two days before had I dreamed of you
Two days of wondering why
A premonition come true
As you walked back in
And we succumbed to temptation
Dancing like we never had before

To see your eyes stare into mine
And words spoken with a blink
Our two days spent together
An unexpected twist
Emotions starting to rekindle
I did what I thought was right

But with interpretations misconstrued
Did the fire sink to an ember
In the end, all for the better
As there is little left to burn
For two days I had almost seen the light
Then the reality. . .placed the dream. . .out of sight
