The subject is self explanatory. I wasn't too upset about that. How can I expect you guys to come to LI whenever I want? You guys helped me out so much already.... Selfish me.... Cosplay is my thing...if I can clone myself, I'll take my own pics. ^^; But I can't really do that...my clone would be so small....

More phone troubles....

O-kaa-san phone is out of commission. I tried to help out by getting her a used phone...the same one she had (since it's small and she knows how to use it already.) I won't go into detail about buying it and stuff...just that since it's used, I'm having trouble with the activation. >.< I checked to make sure it could activate before...now it can't. The previous owner has to go to sprint and tell them to free the ESN number. *insert curses here* I can't do that...I bought the freakin' phone off eBay and the seller is NOT the previous owner (so they claimed.) Hence...I had to check to make sure the ESN can be activated...it could...but now it can't. *bangs head against wall* I'm an idiot...I'm going to sprint tomorrow and appeal to the people there. If that doesn't work, I'm totally not staying with sprint. History or not...this protocal thing (security, $150 rebate, family plans) is driving me crazy. I can't deal with crap like this on a daily basis. Either they give me a phone with no contracts attached...or think of some way to fix this freakin situation. *fumes* Now you see why I'm angry?

I'm going to eat now. I came home, worked on the phone, contacted customer service twice and found out that the phone is crap. *headdesk*

Photoshoot Saturday!

Wow, it's been a long week. So much happened at work, but nothing much else so no updates. ^^; However...P-chan and I have been trying to plan a cosplay photoshoot for saturday. If you guys(amity and co.) wants to come, you are free to come....

Info.... I'm only going to be taking pics in my new Asuca cosplay outfit and the location is the laboratory complex that my church friend lives at. ^-^; It's totally beautiful and I already took note of the many picture-perfect places. The complex has wide grassy areas, a beach, harbor/water area, trees, staircases.... It's not heavily populated so there wouldn't be many spectators...I hope.... ^^; We'll be taking pics between noon and afternoon.

This will my first Ascua cosplay photoshoot so I'm totally excited. Of course...knowing P-chan's schedule, nothing is 100% definite yet. I guess I'll never really know for sure until we get there. ^^;

I'm not claustrophobic!

You can never be sure of something, unless you experience it. I say I'm not claustrophobic...but now I can say with uber confidence that I'm not! ^^V How come? Well, I was in the elevator heading to an appt. when the elevator was taking it's sweet time going down. I didn't think it was moving at all. I decided to contact the office and have them alert whoever downstairs since I was too lazy to figure out which button was labeled 'emergency.' ^^; While I was calling, the guy from downstairs called the car (I was in) and asked if the elevator was stuck. I said I think so and he responded that it was just moving ultra slowly. <.<; And I needed to get to an appt too.... Anyway, a few minutes later, I was at the lobby. ^^V

New anime wma

As mentioned in my con report, there were anime previews shown during the Rintaro/Maruyama panel. One of them reminded me of Fushigi Yugi, beautiful art taking place in ancient Asia (dunno if it was China or Japan, ^^;) with mixture of fantasy and drama. I totally loved the song and clip. So, today's wma is from this recent anime. ^-^ Enjoy!

Yay! I finally have my con report! I'm still sorting through my convention pics so please wait a bit longer...gomen ne.... ^^; Couple of notes to cover the moments before the con and this week....

I was dead tired on monday. I couldn't really walk straight and my left eye was swollen (due to dust allergies >.<) and I looked like hell. I slept all the way to and from work...including nodding off on the subway. On tuesday, I was almost back to normal, and wednesday, my energy levels were recharged. ^^; Yay for sleep! I even met up with Jenn-chan wednesday night to give her the Naruto plush I bought her. She likes it which makes me happy. ^-^

Now back to last thursday...my co-worker slept over my place on wednesday since I took a cosplay-sewing break to check out an apt. that she may want to rent that was near my house. One of my church friends picked us up from the station and drove us to the apt. The apt. itself was nice...though the bedroom is a little more than a closest. Everything was included in the rent: cable tv, cable modem, washer and dryer on the premises...working fireplace. ^-^ Anyway, since it¡¦s a long way home, she slept over and went to work on thursday. Me? I got my personal day request approved so I could stay home and sew. ^-^

Oh yeah, my convos with my supervisor went something like this.

Tuesday¡K.
Supervisor: How are you?
Me: Not too good...I'm kinda stressed out.... >.<
Sup: Why? What's wrong?
Me: The convention is this friday and I still haven't finished my dress yet.
Sup: O.o
Me: *giving her my personal day request* Ne, can I get a personal day on thursday?
Sup: *looking over the paper*
Me: ...I want to spend the day finish sewing up my dress ^^;
Sup: *laughs*

Anyway, I got the personal day. My supervisor/co-workers are all cool. They know about my eccentric hobby, and still encourage me. They're expecting pics so I will get to them soon enough. ^-^

Too much watermelon makes me sick.... >.<

I'm not at work today. Why? Well, I felt sick yesterday: nauseous, headache, feverish, body ache...regurgitating my dinner...or lack of dinner. ^^; I feel much better now, but last night was horrible. Since I don't want whatever I have to get worse, I confined myself to my house today. Hopefully, my body will recooperate enough for me to finish my cosplay and get some work done on the side too. ^^;

I think it was eating too much watermelon that got me sick. I don't know how it happened...but I felt sick even before I got to that really yucky Americanized chinese buffet. I didn't eat much there as well. Maybe it was good thing too.... ^^;

New cosplay....

The dress is done. O.o Okaasan worked through my delirium last night and finished making my dress. There are some things that need to be done in order to perfect it...but the dress is pretty much done. I'm working on the design (still) and hopefully, I'll be done with that by tonight. ^^; With all the chaos that's been going on, I've been unable to give a running account on how the dress was coming together. I'll be working on that though since I need to give an overview about the sewing/design process to the cosplay competition committee. ^^;

Things that still need to be done....

1. Spearhead must get mounted.
2. White obi (for my Asuca cosplay) needs to be made.
3. Sequins/shiny stones need to be bought.
4. Silver string needs to be bought.
5. Design needs to be perfected.
6. Design needs to be placed on the dress.
7. Details must be made on the dress.
8. The skirt/sleeves needs to be adjusted.
9. All cosplay outfits need to be washed and ironed.

I have alot I need to do. *runs off to finish work-work* ^-^

Status: busy ^-^ ~ Listening to: Maple Story BGM

Yay! It's shiny!

After redoing my spearhead (for the hundredth time) I finally had it someone smoothed out and spray painted it. After killing off my last can of paint, I went out and bought another one, but a different brand then the first. (The first had a really dull silver color...not the metallic kind that I want.) Since the guys at Home Depot couldn't tell me, 'Which one would be shiny when sprayed on plastic?' I just picked one out (the same brand as the one otousan bought for my Kikyo quiver) and bought it. Turns out...it was perfect! ^-^ I'm now waiting for the paint on my super shiny silvery spearhead to be dry before I mount it up.

Bad news is that from the paint job, it still isn't as smooth as it should be. But...I'm happy that it's so shiny. ^-^ Maybe I'll redo it again for the hundredth plus one time...but for now, I'm just elated by it's shininess. ^-^

Cosplay break: FFXIII wank

Square-Enix just unveiled the title of the next FF; Final Fantasy XIII: Fabula Nova Crystallis. Of course, the game is not out yet. It's going to be for the PS3 console...which is also not out yet. How can there be wank for something that isn't even out in Japan?!? Well, turns out speculations and claims are just as entertaining as the actual product itself....

Featured on Fandom Wank, turns out a guy (online alias, Moogle Kupo) claimed to have 'inside info' on the upcoming FF game. Working at a top secret company called 'Gamerz Envelope', they get the latest info/interviews/pics/etc on games and sell them to magazines and websites. O.o No big...right? Well, he posted this interview about the game with the creator of FFXIII, Nomura Tetsuya....

Besides the apparent spelling/grammer errors dotted all over the 'interview', there are no links, no website on the company and no date/time/place of this interview. >.< People are skeptical (I laugh at any reporter with these kinds of spelling errors ^^;) and the guy is 'upset' that he isn't taken seriously by the general public (or the FF fandom. ^-^) When info (and scans) on an actual interview (from a Japanese magazine) is released, Moogle Kupo comments, "I remember watching them interveiw Nomura and the others while i was preparing my Interveiw with him, but it seems he was much more open with me than he was with them, i wonder why that is." (Grammer mistakes left intact. ^-^) lol Lack of professionalism and journalistic tact, I'll say this guy can keep on dreaming.

On a side note, the pics of the game look pretty awesome and FF has another female as a main character. (The only other times-I can remember-is FFVI and FFX-2. ^-^) Yay!

Rides confirmed!

My church friends are going to drive us to the convention and pick us up: two different friends. ^-^ Aren't my church friends awesome? I'm going to try to leave work early next thursday (can you believe it? It's next thursday! O.o) and he'll be by to pick me (and stuff) up from my house at 7pm. We'll probably be at Queens around 8pm. Yes, its kinda late, but we have work. ^^; On sunday, I'll be contacting my other friend (140, P-chan, you know her ^-^) and she'll be picking us up in my mother's new/old car. I'll be giving them the address/info on the hotel and confirm times this weekend. *happy sigh* The technical parts for this convention prep is pretty much done. Now...to finish up on the cosplay....

Dress delay

No matter how hard I work, the progress on the dress is slow. Most of my time is on the sketches of the design rather than on the fabric itself. ^^; Actually, that may not be a bad thing since the design is super important. Good thing I have this friday off. ^^; I'll be sewing the entire day.

More glue....

I'm still gluing my spearhead. ^-^; This will take some time before I finish with my entire spear. Even though my cosplay prep seems slow, I'm finishing it bit by bit. I'm not that worried about getting it done in a week's time. ^^; Not that worried.

Maple Story Lunches

Since I do cosplay stuff at home, I've been playing Maple Story at lunchtime during my work hours. ^-^ I'm up to lvl 35, nearing 36. In order to complete my next quest, I've been killing monkeys...to the dismay of one of my co-workers. Why is she dismayed? It's because she loves monkeys. ^^; She said that she may just download the game so she can stare at the monkeys.... lol ^.^

Hotel changes

I contacted the Courtyard Marriot (the hotel for the Anime Next convention) and changed the reservations from June 16 to June 15. As mentioned before, the extra night and going earlier will be easier on finding transportation as well as last minute preparation for the con. Now I just need to confirm the ride....

Spearhead changes

Yes, I'm redoing part of the spear. The 'metal' part is much better than my first spear...but it's still not presentable. I went on cosplay.com and got some helpful pointers. Currently, I'm coating the spearhead with Elmers glue. Elmers glue is sooo useful. ^-^ The purpose of the glue is to smooth out the horrid ridges and hopefully when I paint it again, it will end up shiny and smooth. ^-^;

Someone from church lent me a glue gun which I fixed the bottom of my Kikyo quiver. Even though people say that glue gun and wonderflex does not mix well, it'll be helpful in mounting the spearhead on the pole thingee. ^^;

P-chan and Pearl-chan are both coming with me to Anime Next! *dances with joy* I hear P-chan is going to cosplay O.o...but I won't say what online.... ^-^ I will say this...if she does cosplay, she'll be super popular with the fangirls (me included. ^-^)

Mini cosplay updates

My spear is almost done. O-kaa-san already bought and measured out the cloth for my outfit. I got in contact with my 2nd godsister to see if she can help with with the design on the dress. Even if I can't conmission her to do the design, she may be able to give me pointers. ^.^;

I have two last minute planning details for the convention: hotel and transportation. I need to confirm the booking with the hotel and find someone (who is super nice) that can drive us there and back. I'll be asking my church friends tomorrow for a ride. I only have the hotel booked for friday to sunday. I stupidly didn't think of going on thursday night...which may cost more but may be easier for several reasons. (Like more time to prepare for my friday cosplay. ^^;) I'll be calling the hotel to see if I can book another night. That will make it eaiser for my transportation as well since there are more people that may be able to drive at night...tiring as it may be. If not, than I'll be going early on friday morning. ^^; As you can see...I have alot to do. *returns to hemming*

Convention countdown! O.o

The Anime Next Convention is in 15 days!!! 14, if you don't count the day of.... 13 from tomorrow.... Which means I have to finish my outfit in less than 2 weeks! *screams* Okay, I have nothing much to add except that my entire life is now Maple Story, cosplay and work. ^^;

Manga rental - $.10 per book, $.25 for overnight ^-^

I am lending my manga out to 3 co-workers. Of course I'm not charging any money for borrowing, but now I know why rentals stores are so popular. ^-^ lol One of my co-workers is reading Yu Yu Hakusho and the other two is reading Fullmetal Alchemist. They read so fast. Once I get my Ranma 1/2 back from my godsister, they'll be borrowing that too. Basically, I'm bringing 6 books to work everyday. I would bring the entire set...but I'm not that strong. ^-^ lol We totally should have a 'reading' time at work. ^.^; Now we have another destresser: manga! ^_^
