Status: freaked o.o ~ Listening to: me talking about 'impending doom'

'kowaku nai'

Translation: 'I'm not afraid.' *repeats to self* I'm going to a haunted house tonight. I will survive. <.<' Yeah....

Like last year, in order to minimize the fear that will surely grip me, I have my mp3 player (so that I can listen to happy anime music. ^^;) My co-workers are also cheering me on. Thinking it over, I rather be going to the haunted house than: seeing that client (shudders,) going to court for initial OP, going to PA with a client and kid that throws up (kid throws up, not the client,) or even wearing pink. lol

Status: itchy ~ Listening to: Cello Suite No. 1 BWV 1007 - J.S. Bach (Evangelion: Symphony)

Contemplation in words

I am in a status of personal confusion...but it almost feels like I'm at the brink of realizing something, just haven't gotten the full grasp of it yet. No worries, it isn't something depressing, just confusing. >.<' I'm on the verge of finishing my story, but unfortunately, it's all in my head. ^^; (I feel like the Shakespeare character from the movies when he was asked about his plays. Paraphrasing 'Yes, I have it all...in my head.' ^^;) Nevertheless, I plan to upload it, at least a chapter per week. (That way, it'll force me to finish it on a timely basis.)

Language lessons

I have personally given up trying to learn cantonese. (Sorry, P-chan.... ^^;) I'm going to concentrate my efforts on studying chinese reading and writing as well as conversational Japanese. After I finish going through my chinese workbook, I will self study hirigana and katakana. My Japanese co-worker has already started me on learning Japanese phrases. One of my Japanese phrases of the day (last week) was 'Jyama shinaide!', which is 'Don't bother me!'

Holloween = cosplay opportunity

My center has a halloween party set up for the kids on monday. The staff could attend on one condition, attendees need to be in costume. Of course, I happily agree...except, which costume should I wear? *thinks* Also, my hair is shorter and I don't feel 'right' cosplaying any of my current characters with short hair. *sniff* Oh wellz, hopefully I'll have an idea by tomorrow....

Status: calm ~ Listening to: Dance of the Sakura - Fujimi Orchestra OST

Melodies

After watching Fujimi Orchestra and Neon Genesis Evangelion, I'm starting to enjoy (all over again) classical music. The familiar pieces are so beautiful.... Besides the presence of Mozart and Wagner in the background, there were several pieces of music that were composed just for Fujimi. The mp3 that I uploaded today is from the opening scene of Fujimi. I finished watching Death and Rebirth and End of Evangelion. Other familiar pieces were 'Air in G major', 'Canon in D.' Shinji even played cello: the piece was Bach's 'Suite no.1 in G major'. Currently those pieces (and more) are floating around my mp3 player. ^-^ It sounds like an excuse, but one of my main reasons for liking anime so much is because of the wonderful background music that is composed/chosen.

End of Eva = brain implosion

Turns out I didn't have to redownload the Eva movies afterall. ^-^ The movie was just as confusing as I remembered...a giant white body of Rei (and at one point Nagisa Kaworu) in a sea of red. The last portion of the movie always creeps me out...everyone becoming LCL. *shivers* The series as a whole isn't that hard to understand...but trying to follow a train of thought when there are many trains of thoughts.... *braindead* They should put a warning on the movies: don't watch if you're suspectible to seizures. lol The last part is basically all seizure inducing. Flashing images with bright lights.... *ouch* (I'm emoting a lot since this is Eva...can't type about such an emotional anime without emoting. ^^;)

I discovered I really like the character, Nagisa Kaworu. He is the most open and honest about his thoughts (although he kept his real identity secret. ^^;) Ultra cute...and he even managed to make Shinji blush. Shinji blushing.... *fangirl squeal* Too cute for words. ^_^ Also, his seiyuu just happens to be Akira Ishida, the seiyuu for Fish Eye (BSSM Super S.) O.o Other Eva seiyuus are also SM veterns too.... Megumi Ogata (Shinji)... *screams*...as Sailor Uranus and Kotono Mitsuishi (Misato) as Sailor Moon.

Minor Eva trivia

Most of the birthdates of the characters are from the seiyuus that voices them. (Years are not applicable...since Eva takes place in 2015. ^^;) Example: Megumi Ogata's birthday is June 6 and Shinji Ikari's birthday is June 6. ^-^ (I happen to have the same b-day as Asuka/Yuuko Miyamura. ^-^)

After the series ended, the company received hatemail as well as praise about the series. Due to the demand for a more complete (alternate was also acceptable) ending, Death and Rebirth and End of Evangelion were made. The hatemail that the company received was actually used in the movie, End of Eva.

There is a convo between two characters near the middle of the movie between Gendo Ikari and Ritsuko Akagi.

    Gendo: Ritsuko Akagi, I truly....
    Ritsuko: Liar

'Liar' is Ritsuko's last line and her response/reaction to what Gendo said. However, no one (except Director Anno) knew the rest of Gendo's words. Fans speculate that there might have not been an ending to the sentence, that is was an ambiguity to add to the depth of the plot. However, Director Anno had a full line for Gendo. *evil grin* Seeing that Yuirko Yamaguchi (seiyuu of Ritsuko) was struggling with trying to understand/deliver her last line, (Is she angry? Sad? Upset? Happy?) Director Anno gave her one hint and quoting Yamaguchi-san "With that one incredible hint, I, and Ritsuko Akagi, were utterly defeated." So...basically, only Ritsuko's seiyuu and the director knows Gendo's last words. *sigh* Us fans can only imagine....

Karaoke and Fried chicken

On saturday, I barely made it to the karaoke gathering with my co-workers. (That's because I missed my train and the subways were all delayed. >.<') It was fun though and I sang one song and a half. The one song is 'Promise' by Michael Leung, the guy who sang 'Fairy Tale'. ^-^ I also ordered warm bubble tea with pearls (to soothe my achy throat) and munched on fried chicken and french fries (to soothe my craving for non-congee stuff. ^^;)

Layout choice number 5!

There is a new clickable box below that features a new layout. It is very similar to 'white', but has a feel all it's own. ^-^ The series is Fujimi Orchestra written by Akizuki Koh. It is currently one of my fav. yaoi series and it has classical music. ^-^ It only has one anime ova (that is old) and one manga vol. that is drawn by Sei Goto. The main popularity of the series is in the novels that are still being published as well as the drama cds. I wish I can read/understand Japanese.... *goes study Japanese* The story surrounds the stormy relationship between conductor Tonoin Kei and concert master Morimura Yuki. How stormy is it?

Conductor is in love with the proclaimed 'straight' concert master. Thinking that they have the same 'preferences', conductor proceeds to declare his love physically to his paramor. *warning: rape* What I like about the series is the dynamic of the two characters. It is shown more in the manga than the anime. Kei is childish at times and very forceful. Yuki on the other hand is emotional (pulling on the uke side of the relationship. ^^;) My fav. lines from the anime is between the two characters over Kei's declaration of love....

    Kei: I love you.
    Yuki: This isn't funny!
    Kei: Yes. I'm serious.
    Yuki: That's even less funny!

lol Perhaps I'll upload more Fujimi layouts.... ^-^

Current objectives

I'm still working on the story and I need to re-download End of Evangelion and Death and Rebirth since the my vids are not subbed. But right now...it's lunch time! ^-^ *runs off in search of food*

sore throat = no karaoke

I've been 'out of commission' (not at work) since yesterday. I don't have a fever, but my coughing is getting worse. (Stupid asthma getting in the way.... >.<') I've been living off of lemon/honey/water and congee/soup for since the beginning of this week...so my tummy is longing for some substance. However, my throat can't handle it...oh wellz.... Just want you guys to know that I'm still alive...just not able to talk right now. ^^;

My co-workers want to go out for karaoke tomorrow...and I told them that I will go if I feel better. They suggested ice cream and bubble tea stating that it'll make me feel better. lol My co-workers know of my love of sweets. ^-^

remedy for cold: Eva-marathon

lol...I truly doubt watching Eva will make me feel better...but it's still alot of fun. ^-^ I'll be done with the series tonight... One word: BERSERK!!!! lol *runs screaming/coughing around the room*

7 Wonders....

It seems that the majority of the ancient 7 wonders of the world are nearly non-existant (I think only the pyramids are left) so the world council (us) is voting the for the new 7 wonders. You can go to the new 7 wonders site to check out the 21 finalists and vote. Strangely enough, the Statue of Liberty and even the Sydney Opera House is in the running. <.<' As wonderful as they seem, I never thought of them as top archeological achievements of mankind. (Though this is my own opinion. ^^;)

My top 3 fav. are the pyramids, Easter Island statues and Stone Henge. Their history is a mystery...especially Stone Henge and the statues. If they get into the list, I'll be happy. If not...oh wellz....

You can marry fictional characters?!? Who knew!

I don't think this is the first time I posted about people who believe they were characters of fiction (aka. otherkin or otakin) and it's also no the first time I posted about those that believe they are married/engaged/in a relationship with a fictional characters. I won't go into detail, but I just want to mention some of the 'humans' that roam the internet claiming to be in a romantic relationship with characters that aren't really there. No links, because they'll be too many for me to track down. There are more, but here are those that I remember quite vividly....

In no particular order:

    1. Mrs. Sephiroth - Sephiroth is on an astral plane. They were married there and she visits him in that other realm. (Kinda like 'out of body experience'.)

    2. Kagome reincarnate - Inuyasha is the anti-Christ and Rumiko Takahashi is writing about how the world is going to end! Kagome also has special powers that she can curse anyone who disagrees with her beliefs.

    3. Mrs. Summers - She is married to Scott Summers aka. Cyclops. O.O She taught her children to call Scott 'daddy' and apparently worships him as Christians worship Jesus. (Her comparison. >.<') She wants people to stop writing X-men fanfiction about him since it makes her hubby and her sad.

    4. Mrs. Berlin Wall - She married the Berlin wall. There is a wedding date, pictures (first time they met,) on her site. She was upset when the Wall was torn down. <.<' People online are wondering if they can ransom their pieces of the wall to her. (You can buy a piece of the wall.... ^^;)

    5. Chronos - Dude (yes, it's a guy) fell in love and married a character that someone else created for a "Sonic the Hedge" fanfiction. Kat (full name Katalina Nicole Acorn) visits him from the astral plane so that they can have marital relationships (aka. sex) and she had his babies. O.O Not only does he has super saiyan like powers (can throw ki blasts,) he gets visits from characters from other fandoms. His visits to the astral Wal-mart (yes, Wal-mart ^^;) shows how far reaching commercialism has gone. ^-^ Creator of Kat spoke up when Chronos demanded that she bring Kat to reality, since she was the one who created the character. (Creator of said character was not amused.)

Yes, these people exist. Either that, or they have too much time on their hands and enjoy bugging people on their friendslist. As for me...well I want to marry Kurama and be named, Mrs. Youko. The thousands of Kurama-lovers online better watch out since I am also the Kikyo reincarnate and will shoot them with my arrows. XP

Sleep is good!

I've had a 5hr/day sleeping average for the past 3 wks. After the exhausting thursday (last week) I slept through most of my weekend. Hence, I haven't been online or updating. ^-^ Heck, I haven't done much of anything besides sleeping...and watching anime.

Gala memories: pain in the feet ^^;

Last thursday night was the gala: a party for the influential, culturally minded and financially endowed members of society. ^-^ The main attractions of the evening were the guests of honor, the silent auction and the raffles. I was in charge of raffles which meant that I had to walk around (mingle) and sell tickets. In high heels. *ouch* ^^; The stuff that were being auctioned and raffled off were awesome. Expensive paintings, autographed items, ipods and (my fav) the 30th anniversary limited edition Hello Kitty watch with matching compact mirror. O.O Retail value of over $300 with the starting bid of of $150. *sigh* Unfortunately, it's totally out of my budget...even if the bids didn't push it past $350. ^.^

There were many guests, but the main guest of honor was Kyung Yoon, the first ever NY Korean-American broadcast reporter. The MC was Connie Chung, anchorwoman extraordinare of many news channels. Down the list of anchors/reporters that attended were also Juju Chang, Cindy Hsu, Ti-Hua Chang and David Ng. I can't confirm as of yet (since my mind is a blur) but I think politican John Liu (or his representative) was also there. Non-news guests were singers Julie Danao Salkin and Juan Pineda as well as comedian Eliot Chang.

Food consisted of finger foods: hor'derves, cheese, cracker and fruit spreads. There was an open bar that served cocktail drinks only (nothing blended.) I must say, the fried shrimp on a stick with mango sauce was delicious as well as the fruit tarts and chocolate covered strawberries. ^-^ Yes, we could eat on the job....

Got home around 1am and slept until 2 friday afternoon. All in all, it was a wonderful day.

Xenosaga III: End of a trilogy, the beginning of confusion

Besides resting, I finally watched all the cutscenes of the latest Xenosaga game. (Domo, Theresa-nee-chan! ^-^) My first impression after watching it was: @.@?!?! Shion did what? Kevin was what? And...KOS-MOS is MARY?!? Confusing, ne? I thought so too.... I'm happy to say that the voice acting and characteristics were not as wishy washy/whiny as the first two games. Major improvement. They felt more 'real'. Many of the original female VAs returned (which I'm so happy about since KOS-MOS sounded horrible in the second game,) but I think they replaced Canaan's VA. *sniff* Of course, the plot threads were all tied up neatly in this game, but I don't understand the endings of many of the subplots. I'm just going to have to watch it a couple of times to get more of how the whole 'conspiracy' thing works.

Of course, my impressions about some characters changed, mainly about Shion's suitors. Kevin...is a jerk. No matter how nice they made him be in the last few seconds of screentime...he was a jerk. (Though Kevin's topless scene with Shion was hot.... The biceps, they are cut. *fangirl squeal*) Allen redeemed himself nicely...though the jumping on a gnosis thing afterwards was almost overkill in the heroism department. ^^;

Who likes who in Xenosaga III: IMO.

Some pairings that appeared before like MOMO and Jr. nearly disappeared...though I think that's because MOMO didn't get much screentime in this game. (Unllike game II, game III was mainly about Shion and everyone else's past.) Jin actually has lover...Pelligri. 0.0 (And I think she ran off with Margulis.O.O) Jin and Margulis can make a nice couple though...since they seemed to understand each other best. ^-^ In one conversation, Chaos and Canaan was almost canon. ^^; I forgot what he said...but Canaan was asking what Chaos thought of him or something to that extent. Too cute.... ^-^ Febronia and Virgil is the sweetest couple...though their love was short lived...since Feb didn't live that long. *sniff* Chaos and KOS-MOS is almost definitely a couple...though I still don't know why.... <.<' Yup...I still have some more watching to do.... I will talk with Theresa-nee-chan for more info. ^.^

Out of court...into the rain.

I wasn't where all the helicopter action was today, so I didn't get stuck in Manhattan. ^.^ Instead, I stayed in Qns. Fam. Crt. and around the court all day...and actually got out earlier than usual. After notifying the office that "I'm outie", ^-^ I hit the bus for Flushing. Right into the heavy rain. *.* Can you say totally soaked? lol I had fun being drenched though...not like it's the first time I got caught in the rain. *reminiscing about Japan* ^-^

Working stylishly

Tomorrow, I'll be assisting in the annual gala that is held by my center. (Yes, they call it a 'gala'. ^-^) Famous Asians are going to be there...though I can't remember their names.... ^^; It's an evening event and I'm going to be there all night. Of course, I'll be wearing my black dress. (What else is new? ^^;) I'm not exactly sure what I'll be doing (coat check maybe?) but mingling with stars is not my thing. I rather stand on the sidelines and discretely stare at them. ^-^ I'll let you guys know if I saw anyone cute/famous.

Yaoi weekend....

In the midst of trying to write an objective, semi-romantic, logical and all revealing story, I spend my spare time downloading yummy animes known in the otaku world as...yaoi. O.O I will not lie to you...I'm a yaoi girl. (What? It's no surprise? Oh well.... ^^;) I won't recommend any yaoi titles (as of yet) since I don't want to reveal the contents of my secret stash...just that I wish they made more good yaoi like "blank blank". ^-^ Unfortunately, yaoi anime is not as prominent as the usual hetero anime porn that roams through the Japanime world. lol

Yaoi meme aka. if I was a boy....

I have only one thing to say: I totally am aren't I? *grins* ^.^

Angsty Uke You are -40% Seme!

Yes. You are the angsty uke. Seldom smiling and probably persimistic, you are not likely to put in too much effort to give your seme pleasure. You probably have an unhappy past which you tend to brood on whether intentionally or not. Sometimes your angst tends to add unwanted weight to a relationship, but it also adds a certain level of excitement. The relationship may be against your will... but try to look on the bright side. if there is a bright side

I didn't bother to ask which show, but it sounds pretty awesome. ^.^ They had an early Moon festival dinner at a restaurant and I went to join them. 2006 CCF Retreat: mission completed

Every retreat I have ever been to was always unique in itself. Many interesting things happen...I'll just give the highlights.

    Moment 1: Picture perfect gardens

The location to meet with the others is always the outside of the Wang Center at Stony. I arrived, added my suitcase to the growing pile by the door and proceeded to walk around the place. Wang Center is easily the prettiest building/structure out of everything on the campus. The inner garden is really pretty. I've been there before, but it was only than that I realized, "Damn, this would be an awesome place to take cosplay pics!" (I say 'damn' since-as you know-I cut my hair already so I need to wait for it to grow back before I can take any proper cosplay pics. ^^;)

Moment 2: 'Ow, I hurt my neck!' <.<'

There was traffic. The bus was very close to the car that was in front of it. The car moved and suddenly stopped. The bus smacked into the car. I was near the back so I just heard/felt a loud bump. Of course we had to pull to the side (since we were on the highway) and proceeded to wait on the bus. For like an hour and a half. Too long. It turns out the driver got out of the car and started complaining about injuring his neck. (The car itself had little to no scratches/dents. ^^;) Of course the police and ambulance arrived, but the driver didn't want to go to the hospital. That was why it took so long. Can you say pain in the neck? Literally.... >.<' We were totally delayed and hungry by the time we were able to drive away.

Moment 3: 'Can I take your order?'

Wendys has a 1am closing time. Make that the drive thru closes at 1am. The doors closes at 10pm. We arrived at 10:13pm at the fast food restaurant. The restroom was offlimits...so was the inside of the restaurant. What actually happened was the we got off the bus and walked through the drive thru. O.o Cold.... Company policy or not...that isn't too smart when you have a busload of hungry asians willing to buy fast food at 10:30pm. They wouldn't even let the last couple of ppl order since 'It's a drive thru so we need to be in a car.' >.<' Oh wells...we had our usual instant noodles at the campsite.... ^-^

Moment 4: I rule Bible riddles!

I'll just say this much...my childhood sunday school teacher can totally be proud of me. ^-^ The small group leader asked Chinese riddles based on written characters and verse...like what is asked during the Moon festival (that we're celebrating right now. ^-^) I surprised everyone since everyone thought it would be too difficult since I'm not very literate in chinese...but I know my Bible characters very well. And so...my team won. ^^V

Moment 5: No staff = me cooking breakfast

This was the first retreat that I went to that had absolutely NO ONE from the campsite staffing us. (Well..except for the lifeguard at the lake.) Everyone cleaned up after themselves and each small group was in charge of cooking a meal. The menu was all set up already and our small group got to cook Sunday breakfast. There was pasta chicken soup with ham, lettace, onions and eggs (totally chinese.) There was also the usual toast, fruits and cereal along with the soup. We encountered one problem and a minor mishap, but survived and cooked an edible and yummy breakfast. (I did not cook. I stuck to cleaning the veggies, cutting and cleaning up afterwards. ^-^)

Moment 6: On the other side of the lake....

I went boating with my friend and we rowed all the way out to the other side of the lake. There were many lily pads on the water, but we found only several lilies and 2 or 3 that were actually opened. We thought it was an enclosed lake, but we found a bend on the other side that turns out to be NOT a dead end. ^^; The other side was an even larger lake and we saw houses. Only 3 boats (us included) discovered the other side. ^-^

    Moment 7: One more thing....

During the last message, some of the guys from another small group tied my coat to the chair. While I was wearing the coat. Basically, they took the thing that usually ties around my waist and tied it to the chair beside me. Twice...and I think a third time but I didn't catch them. lol Good thing I didn't stand up.... ^^; Oh, of course I proceeded to smack them on the head with my wonderful Bible. ^-^

Couple more things before I go....

I had reception at site...barely. I apologize since I keep on picking up the phone and losing you halfway, P-chan. ^^; Any revelations that I discovered (if any at all) will not be typed online. Heck, I can't put into words what I don't know.

I gave in and just bought the Paradise Kiss butterfly cellphone thingee online. Can't wait for it to come. ^-^
