| COP'S HEARTBEAT DECISION INJURES GOOD CITIZEN AND IGNITES RACIAL STRIFE -- Officers Sully (Skipp Sudduth) and Davis (Coby Bell) rescue a man under attack in an alley, but when Sully injures himself while pursuing the suspects and loses his gun, Davis rounds a corner and mistakenly shoots an African-American man who innocently tried to return the downed officer's gun to him -- igniting a racial furor and a departmental investigation when the good samaritan is paralyzed. Elsewhere, Bobby (Bobby Cannavale) and Kim (Kim Raver) assist a near-frozen young boy who is wedged between two parallel walls in the bitter cold. Officer Bosco (Jason Wiles) asks Officer Yokas (Molly Price) to reconsider leaving her husband if for nothing than the sake of their children.
