About Kimberly Rimbey
Kimberly Rimbey has taught in Arizona for almost 20 years. As a Math Spcialist in the Paradise Valley Unified School District, she works with at-risk students as well as their teachers. Kim's passion is helping teachers implement mathematics "best practices" strategies through a variety of professional development opportunitites that include model lessons, co-teaching, co-planning and presentations. Kim believes strongly that teachers need a balance between pedagogical skills and content knowledge in order to teach mathematics effectively. She integrates her primary areas of expertise - mathematics education, multiple intelligences, educational leadership, and early childhood literacy development - into her work with teachers and into her presentations at the local, state, and national levels.

Kim holds a B.S. in elementary education and mathematics from Grand Canyon University, an M.Ed. in early childhood education from ASU, and an M.Ed. in educational leadership from NAU. She is currently on the Executive Board of the Arizona Association of Teachers of Mathematics and has been named the Publicity Chair for the 2006 Western Regional NCTM conference to be held in Phoenix, AZ.

A National Board Certified Teacher in Early Adolescent Mathematics, Kim received the 2001 Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching from George W. Bush, an award sponsored by the National Science Foundation.

Kim and her husband, Steve, reside in Phoenix, AZ. In their spare time, they enjoy mountain biking and traveling.
