U.S. 311 Decommissioned
Here's a U.S. route I'd like to eliminate, and the reasons behind it: U.S. 311 in North Carolina should be decommissioned in its entirety, because it exists in only one state, it's not 300 miles in length, and it doesn't even connect to U.S. 11.  Plus, U.S. 11 does not enter North Carolina anyway. To fix this problem, I would replace U.S. 311 with NC 311.  From what I understand, the freeway section of this corridor from High Point to Winston-Salem will be replaced by Interstate 74 in a few years, which gives yet another reason to eliminate U.S. 311.
