From Cumberland Gap, TN, US 58 continues north on what is now US 25E into Kentucky. It ends in Corbin, KY at US 25 (which eliminates US 25W). The rest of US 25E in Tennessee would be redesignated US 125.
By extending US 58 into Kentucky, this gives it a more dignified end at a route that does not split into branches. I absolutely hate these branches because they are sure to give motorists confusion as to which route they really are.
