U.S. 86
	US 86 has never been signed on any road, to the best of my knowledge.  I have a great idea for a new route in the Southeast. The new US 86 would begin in Georgetown, SC along Alt US 17.  It would continue into Walterboro, where it would pick up SC 64 to Barnwell.  The remainder of Alt US 17 south of Walterboro could be redesignated as an extension of US 15. From Barnwell, US 86 would multiplex with US 278 to Augusta, GA.  It would then continue to Thomson, where it would multiplex with US 78 to Athens.  From Athens, US 86 would follow US 129/GA 11 into Gainesville.  It would then take GA 53 towards Rome, forming a northern bypass of Atlanta. US 86 would take GA 20/AL 9 to a junction with US 411 in Centre, AL, replace the rest of US 411 through Gadsden, and terminate at US 78 in Leeds, a small suburb east of Birmingham.
