The Dish's February SPOT goes out to a very talented woman who has already been lauded by the Golden Globes as the "Best Actress." Born and raised in South Africa, she eventually came to the United States and became a star in her own right. Now, after a few movies under her belt, she's become the toast of Tinseltown --- already expected to turn heads as the front-runner at this year's Oscars. She's a definite beauty, and a prized actress on her way to even greater things. Give it up for Miss Charlize Theron!
Charlize's statuesque frame caught the eye of the modeling world, where she had her humble beginnings. She attended a boarding school in Johannesburg, South Africa, and also studied dance. She already had the pre-requisite training to be a bonafide performer. Eventually, she made her mark on the silver screen with her debut in the crime comedy 2 Days in the Valley. She went on to play many more roles, and had many more films including Sweet November with Hollywood head-turner Keanu Reeves, and The Italian Job with former rapper Mark Wahlburg. But it was for her role as Aileen Wuornos, serial-killer, in the film Monster that turned heads and hearts of movie execs, making her the actress of choice for this year's Golden Globes. Bringing home the Golden Globe is almost always a pre-cursor to a similar fate come Oscar night. Only time will tell. But it's truly evident... Charlize's star is ready to shine more brightly now than ever. Let's give it up for Miss Charlize Theron, the toast of the DAILYdish SPOTlight for February.
