Hollywood tween princess, Amanda Bynes.

Born on April 3, 1986 in Thousand Oaks, California, the youngest of three children became interested in acting and perfroming from the very young age of three. She would often say her older sister Jillian's lines with her while she performed in a play. It was from then on that her family and friends knew that she would some day become a star.

Amanda made her acting debut in 1996, after auditioning for a role on "All That." Soon as she hopped on board, she became very popular. Fans enjoyed her acting skills and the skits that she was featured in. She popularized the "Ask Ashley" skit, where she played a little girl running an advice column who would get very angry every time she read a letter. A few years following, the star was given her own variety show, "The Amanda Show," where she acted in most of the skits.

Her big break on the silver screen came in "Big Fat Liar," which she co-starred in with Frankie Muniz (Malcom in the Middle). She also won a Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award and, at age fifteen, ended "The Amanda Show." In 2002, she began co-starring with Jennie Garth in "What I Like About You" as Holly, a 16-year-old girl who moves in with her sister after their father decides to move to Japan. And in 2003, Amanda won two KCA Awards and starred as Daphne, a girl searching for her father, in "What a Girl Wants." Currently, she continues acting in "What I Like About You," and looks forward to finishing her senior year of high school. After graduation, she plans to take a year off before starting college in New York.

Amanda Bynes... a star on the brink of adulthood, but definitely a rightful queen among her throngs of teen fans. Hollywood is sure to see more of this gal --- the focus of the DAILYdish SPOTlight for May 2004!
