Experiment at Work

By now, we know that Sarah has discovered that she really does enjoy abusing her shoes. She actually has discovered that she needs to expand her horizons. One day while at work, she had an idea that might solve two problems at once; a new way to abuse her shoes and a way to justify buying some new office furniture.

Her office chair and desk have been showing their age for quite some time. Her chair had been broken and repaired several times. It was a roll-around chair with metal legs extending to the castors. The metal legs had all been broken during the employment of the lady before her; she had heard that the lady was rather large. The desk was generally run down; the drawers did not work properly, and the left drawer cabinet had been nailed hastily back together. Sarah did not want to think of all the pantyhose that had been given runs because of this. Some of the nails really stuck out. Sarah knew her boss had noticed that her shoes were no longer in such pristine condition. He knew she bought plenty of new shoes, and they started showing wear very quickly. Sarah mentioned that she wish she knew what was causing her shoes, and herself, such grief.

One morning, after dealing with yet another difficult client, Sarah decided she needed to get rid of plenty of tension. She decided that her fairly new, and well taken care of, black pumps with three-inch heels might not live to see another day of going to work.

There were many places on the chair with rough welding to cause plenty of damage to her shoes. Sarah found a spot where two very rough welds were next to each other near the hub; she put the heel of her left pump in the corner, and pushed back and down. She was greeted by a most satisfying grinding/scraping sensation. At the time, she was alone in the office, and had gotten quite excited by her first round of stress relief. She held onto the desk, and then started to spin the base of the chair by pulling the legs around with her toes. Some welds were so rough that she felt pain as the rough spots penetrated her shoes. After a short while of doing that, the toes and sides of her shoes had plenty of scuffs, scrapes, and tears. She covered the worst with some shoe polish that she always kept there for keeping her shoes pampered.

When her boss arrived, she announced that she knew the source of damage to her shoes. He went straight to the office supply store and ordered new furniture for her office, figuring that she was definitely valuable enough to keep happy. Delivery and installation was set for the next day. That evening, he had her prepare her office equipment for the swap to the new furniture, and told her to take the next day off.

The next day could not come soon enough for Sarah. She knew she should enshrine those shoes for their role in getting the new furniture, but was anxious to inflict more damage to them. Early that morning, she set off to her favorite place, not having the least idea what she wanted to do to those shoes. They had been her favorite shoes, and she wanted to do something different to them/in them. She had polished them so they were looking very nice, ready for any occasion; only the heel showed any real damage. The nicer they looked as she began her fun with them, the better it was. Other than a couple of pairs of standby shoes, all her shoes had to be in as pristine condition as possible prior to her fun with them. There was not a single shoe in her possession that was safe!!

She had put an old football from her younger days in the picnic basket, and decided that would provide the means for fun. She would kick the ball, and then follow it to wherever it landed, and then kick it again. She would kick it down and back up the rocky hillside, as well as in any water it might land in. Sarah hauled off and kicked the ball; she was a bit out of practice so her right shoe flew farther than the ball. She was thoroughly mesmerized by the sight and sounds of her shoe bouncing down the rocks. It landed beside the creek.

“Well, how far can I kick the other shoe without the ball?” Sarah wondered aloud. She gave a few practice kicks on the area above before her over-the-side attempt. The left shoe had some new marks on it from the practice. She felt she could kick it farther because she was barefooted on the right foot. After an uneven running start with one shoe missing, Sarah gave a mighty kick over the side; the shoe made it almost all the way to the bottom. As it hit, it bounced high and landed in the stream. Putting on another pair she had worn beyond public use, but still having plenty of fun left, she started down the side. This pair was black with the heel that was thin from front to back, and was slightly bowed at the back (by design). Sarah was surprised the first time she brought these shoes out how durable the thin heels were; she had expected that they would break off easily. Reaching the ball, she carefully kicked it do down and it landed in the water next to the pump from the office. Going barefoot, she collected the shoe that fell beside the stream, put it on, and went to the other one, and put it on. Pleasantly surprised by the splash when she kicked the ball, she followed it out. She had mastered kicking the ball without her shoe flying away, now, unless she wanted it to.

The other pair, she threw toward the top of the hill, hoping she could find both shoes among the rocks. After several kicks, the toes were scraped almost bare (raw might be a good word), and were caved in quite nicely.

During one especially vicious kick from the top (she did find both of the other shoes!), Sarah dragged the heel against the edge of a rock. She wanted to send that shoe flying, but had to settle for a broken heel; that was OK with her. Looking at the heel sticking out the back, still attached to the sole, Sarah thought back to the first time she saw that on that fateful day when she discovered the fun of tearing up dress shoes. Since the ball did not go over the edge, she threw it back near the car, and started down to the water. Amazingly enough, the heel stayed attached during her trip down. Sarah delighted in looking at her foot in the shoe, with the broken heel flat in the water with the heel sticking straight out the rear. Going back to the rocky hill, she found a nice area to break the heel the rest of the way off. She then commenced rubbing/scraping the back of that shoe on the rocks. She had no idea what it was about that, but the heelless shoe being scuffed and scraped in that place really excited her. Sarah loved holding onto her heelless shoes and walking around in them. (Actually, she never threw away any of her ruined shoes!) She only loved the abuse she could put them through while wearing them (unless she was throwing them).

Finally, the time came to head home, less another pair of fine dress shoes. One shoe kept the heel, but was scuffed and scraped, and torn like all her shoes she had fun with. The other shoe was scuffed, scraped, and was minus a heel. The heel would go into a large clear glass jar with all the other broken heels.
