The Interview
I got to watch Eliza Dushku in David Letterman. She was very stunning, as ever. "A lovely young actress" as Dave would put it. The interview didn’t last long though, as Eliza was having problem w/ her voice. She really had hard time talking but sounded very witty still. I have actually encoded my way on the message board. You may start reading now.  MESSAGE BOARD

Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum Eliza Dushku looks more like an Angel than a slayer at the New York City premiere of her film City by the Sea.

Dushku staked out for 'Buffy'
Source EDTV
It's good news for "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" fans: Evil vampire slayer Faith is set to return to the UPN drama series. Eliza Dushku has signed on to reprise her role as Faith this season in five episodes of "Buffy" and three episodes of the WB Network's spinoff "Angel," both from writer-producer Joss Whedon and 20th Century Fox TV. Dushku appeared on "Buffy" alongside the show's star Sarah Michelle Gellar from 1998-2000. She also guest-starred as Faith on "Angel." The actress' busy feature schedule has kept her away from the "Buffy" franchise, but now she has committed to appear in the final five episodes of the original series this season. There has been speculation that this might be "Buffy's" last year, but reps for the studio stress that no decision has been made. Dushku's feature credits include "Bring It On" and "Soul Survivors." The actress, who is shooting "Wrong Turn," next appears in "City by the Sea" opposite Robert De Niro and Frances McDormand. She is repped by ICM and the Firm. (Nellie Andreeva)

Eliza Fever

Here are some pictures of Eliza Dushku on the night of the premier. WIREIMAGE

Teaser
Eliza Dushku told SCI FI Wire that Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel fans should check out her Aug. 27 appearance on CBS' The Late Show With David Letterman for news about her reprising her role as Faith on upcoming episodes of both series. "[Creator] Joss [Whedon] and I have been talking, talking a lot," Dushku said in an interview. "I'm doing Letterman on Tuesday night, and Tuesday is the day of the decision-making. So I'll have an announcement to make that evening."

Dushku added, "I really love the character, and it's beyond me what Joss could write for her to do, because he's so creative. I can't even imagine. But I trust him so much that I'd be able to jump in [and do] whatever he can spin for me. The whole crossover thing is pretty cool. The shows have gone off in such different directions, but also stayed true, on Angel, to the original concept. It's fun to play on both shows. Angel is a little bit darker. It's on an hour later. It's a little bit more gritty. But they're both really excellent shows."

Wrong Turn Script Review
Another horror flick for Eliza Dushku and in the Wrong Turn she plays Jessie [as per IMDB]. Below is an excerpt of the script review written by Alan B. McElroy.

Our story of brutal violence and gory mayhem begins with our introduction to Thomas Avon, a med student on his way home to see the folks. Weary of his career choice, the trip home is a decision-maker: continue his schooling or take on his father’s construction business. During his cruise through West Virginia in a ‘67 Mustang, Avon takes a seemingly sweet little detour down a side road of the highway only to slam into the back of an idle Jeep in the middle of the road. Aside from the now obvious reasons, the Jeep was in pretty rough shape: all the tires were blown out thanks to a curiously-placed strip of barbed wire...but it’s no barbed wire Avon’s ever seen before.

Anyhow, the Jeep’s occupants were close by and Avon has the pleasure to meet them quickly. You’ve got the extremely sexy Jessie, the annoying sparkplug Carly, the David Arquette-ish Scott, the conservative Francine, and her man, Evan, a brawny dope. Stuck out in the middle of the woods without a cell phone signal, the group set off down the road in hopes of finding a phone or another car. Of course, two (Francine and Evan) decide to stay behind...just in case someone comes along. Bad move. Clueless Evan is slaughtered while taking a piss and Francine is dragged away by unknown killers.

New Movies?
Eliza has been in talks regarding her possible role as alice. News about new projects have been coming in as well. I guess we would never really know unless we have laid an eye on it.

I came across Nick Nunziata's website, and could sense a high five of praise for Eliza. Check out his article below.

A few days ago, it was reported that some IDIOT in Hollywood was thinking the ever-annoying Heather Donahue of 'Blair Witch' phenomenon could be the best choice for the role of Alice' in Dimension's upcoming 'Dark Wonderland', the big screen adaptation of the popular video game 'American McGee's Alice'. We here in the Corner disagreed, however, and had our own suggestions.

Today, it seems as if someone was listening. Though Donahue is still in the running for the role, Dark Horizons is reporting that Eliza Dushku, better known to those of us that stay in every Tuesday night as Faith from 'Buffy', is now in talks to go down the rabbit hole again. This is indeed good news, since she is young and innocent looking enough to take the role, plus she has a little evil side that could work out perfectly for this part.

Dushku is also in discussions for a role in the upcoming werewolf love story 'Blood and Chocolate', which according to Guerilla Film is stuck in movie hell, also known as perpetual pre-production. For those of you unfamiliar with 'Blood and Chocolate', here's what the French call a premise, from Upcoming Movies...

Vivian's werewolf clan has fled from discovery in West Virginia to the tenuous safety of the Maryland suburbs, but their leader, Vivian's father, is dead and the pack is in turmoil. Angry at her male age-mates who she feels caused her father's death, Vivian feels estranged from her own kind, yet unable to fit in with the humans at school. When a poem about shape-changing appears beside her expressionistic print in the school literary magazine, Vivian sets out to meet this young man who knows too much, and is shocked to discover that she is attracted to a meat-boy. Ignoring her werewolf suitor, and defying the laws of her clan she romances a human-it couldn't hurt, could it? But then the bodies start to turn up.

Interesting idea, no? I think Dushku is a good choice for both roles, if they don't interfere with Buffy, because NOTHING should EVER interfere with Buffy. Check out the site

My New Look
I'm finally back updating! It's been a week of not giving you pleasure guys [ahem], and I can't afford to do that again. Obviously the reason for this being is a great face-off. Hope you love this new lay-out and design. It took me 14 hours doing this look. I literally mean, no standing and eating. Feel so tired yet it's so great! Let me know what you think about this by dropping a line on my gbook. Now back to the real thing!

Have Faith
Here's an article from
Eonline regarding Faith's return.

Gotta Have Faith: The question is whether she's gotta have Buffy. "We've talked about Eliza Dushku coming back," Joss said. "And I have my fingers crossed we'll see more of her this year, because I love her. Seth Green, he seems to be a lot more busy this year. We may do something. But if I can work Eliza in, she'd actually do well for this season on both shows."

The New Guy Video
You may now enjoy this comedy film at home. Available in DVD and VHS. [Sun Herald]

City By The Sea
I'm pretty excited about this new film. I just hope that Eliza would have a lenghty role in this movie. We're now counting down as this will be released on September 6, 2002. For more updates, you may visit the movie's official website. [Click Here]

Dushku Back in Buffy
Faith Returns Update

Here are some articles I've found concerning Faith returns:

Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon told a crowd at Comic-Con International in San Diego that Eliza Dushku had finally found time in her schedule to reprise the role of Faith next year, the Ain't It Cool News Web site reported. Whedon also reportedly said that Anya (Emma Caulfield) will sing again in a flashback to last season's musical episode "Once More With Feeling."

FAITH RETURNS TO BUFFY AND ANGEL
Nearly confirming earlier reports about the return of Faith to the Whedon universe, a source for Ain't It Cool News said that the slayer-gone-bad's reappearance will be a bit bigger than anticipated.
"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" creator Joss Whedon attended the recent Comic-Con in San Diego, where he said that Eliza Dushku will not only reprise the role for "Angel" on The WB, but for "Buffy" on UPN as well. According to "Big Ed from Texas," Whedon said that Dushku finally had a break in her schedule and would be able to return to both series.
The 21-year-old has been busy since she left "Angel" in 2000, including appearances in "Bring It On," "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" and "Soul Survivor."

Cast: Eliza Dushku, Jeremy Sisto, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Desmond Harrington; other cast not announced yet.

Based Upon: This movie is reportedly inspired by 1970's horror films like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Wes Craven's The Hills Have Eyes.

Premise: A carload of four young people find themselves trapped in the woods of West Virginia, hunted down by three "cannibalistic mountain men grossly disfigured through generations of in-breeding." (source: The Hollywood Reporter, 8/15/01). There's no word yet about how receptive the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce will be to this project.

Filming: Production is scheduled to start on August 6th, 2002 in Toronto (originally scheduled to start in late 2001, and then in February and May of 2002) on a budget of $10 million.

Filming Note: (9/2/01) There's no word yet about whether there will be any filming in the beautiful Appalachian wilderness areas of West Virginia, where I'm sure the locals are going to just "love" being portrayed this way. (7/9/02) Well, they won't have to worry about that, as they'll be using Canada to substitute for the Appalachians.
