Young fisherman from Sunbury joined the battle to save the Egham Swan Sanctuary last week.
The Kingfisher Piscatorials led by Steve Gray handed a petition with more than 1500 signatures to Dot Beeson on Friday Night.
Mr Gray said, We have worked for the sanctuary in the past and when I heard about their plight, I started a petition.
We hoped to get about 500 names and ended up with more 1500.
