Litter Pick Sunday 24th June.
This day was designed to give the children a better understanding on the effect of litter on the riverbank. In the past we as a club have visited the Swan Sanctuary base in Egham Surrey. Sadly the effects of leaving litter causes the wildlife a great deal of distress.Far to many creatures get caught up on discarded fishing tackle.
So we set about cleaning the river up. I choose the River Thames in Walton to do this event, mainly because it has a history of litter problems We had a number of willing helpers, every member of the club were in attendances along with help from Linda Gray and Clare Garrett.
We also had support from the Angling Mail and of course the Swan Sanctuary.
We collected a great deal of rubbish, not all fishing rubbish, I must add.

Thanks to everyone who help make this day such a success.
