My Page
Welcome to my page.

I have been fishing for over 30 years. I was very lucky as a child as my Grandparents lived on the
River Ember in Surrey.
This gave me the best possible start to my love affair with fishing. As a child I would sit with my grandad and just hold a bamboo cane and a length of line. I would catch Minnows or we would set a Minnow trap made out of an old wine bottle filled with bread. As soon as I was given my first rod I never looked back.
I spent many years catching Chub and Roach from the back garden. Then after the house repeatedly getting flooded by the river, it was turned in to a Canal.
The river now held more slower water fish such as Bream and Tench. So in my early years I had to learn how to catch a lot of different kinds of fish. I also spent a lot of time on the River Thames at Sunbury and Hampton Court. I have always loved fishing the river and I believe that one fish in the Thames is worth at least two in a stocked lake.

Today I still have the Passion for fishing, the same as I had when I was catching those Minnows. I tend to aim for a single species when I go fishing. For summer I mainly target Tench on still waters and Barbel on the River. Come the Winter I spend the whole time Pike Fishing. Pike are at the top of my list, with Tench coming a close second. I am not into the Carp scene at all, but I have caught a number of double figure
Carp but I do not like to spend three or four days at a time on the water.
My favourite method is the float fishing, trotting on the river using my favourite reel,a Young's Centre Pin.
When I am Pike fishing you cannot beat the drift float method. Hitting a Pike at 100 yards takes some beating. I also own a boat in which I spend a lot of time catching river pike.

I started a fishing club within a local church and I have ten members at present. My aim is to teach these children the very best I can. Not only in fishing but about the importance of looking after the wildlife that live on and under the water and their own safety whilst being near the water.Out of the ten Children only three had been fishing before, but I am pleased to say that I have a 100% success with all the children catching fish on there first trip out. I have set up a programme for the children to follow and that has just seen us visit a local Swan Sanctuary based at Egham Surrey. We had a very interesting tour of the Sanctuary.
The Owner of the Sanctuary was very impressed that I had the foresight to take these children to see the damage that can be caused by careless Anglers. She believes that I am the first person to take a group of Anglers to the Swan Sanctuary and for that I am very proud. It will hopefully  make a small difference.
As well as running my own club I am also a Natiional Federation of Anglers Regional Coach
I am Also a member of the Anglers Conservation Association, who do a great job.
