Handle With Care |
When you have caught your fish follow these rules to protect them from damage. Do not use a keepnet unless you are in a contest. It is advisable to handle fish with wet hands. If you catch a big fish leave it in your landing net to unhook it, then return it directly to the water, use an unhooking mat to protect them. Always return fish to the water gently and as quickly as possible. If you are taking photos of your fish, make sure that you have everything ready for the photo before you remove the fish from the water. Hold the fish close to the ground and over an unhooking mat, not over hard stony ground. Return the fish as soon as you can after the photo has been taken. |
