Watercraft. Why do some anglers always catch more or bigger fish than others? The answer to this question is that they use watercraft to help find and catch the fish. What is watercraft? Watercraft is the knowledge that anglers collect each time they go fishing, ready to use on the next trip to the waterside. To learn you watercraft you have to take notice of what is going on all around you both in and out of the water. When you do this the information that you will help you find and catch more fish. What information do you need? It would be impossible to list everything but the following are some of the things that good anglers notice and put to use for them. Weather. The temperature (on the day you are fishing and also the past few days) Air Pressure (high pressure with clear skies or low pressure with lots of cloud) Sunlight Wind (Strength and Direction) Water Depths Size of Water Features (Weed, Fallen Trees, changes in depth) Water flow on rivers or streams You cannot learn watercraft over night, but each time you go fishing you will build up your knowledge |
