Barbel
This has to be the queen of the river. I really love looking at this fish. What power and grace. A hard fighting river fish that will test your tackle to the limit. The best baits you can use is luncheon meat, sweetcorn and maggots. If you fish over a bed of hemp you will attract the Barbel. The Barbel is a bottom feeder and it uses it's four barbels below it's jaw to search for food in the gravel on the river bed.
