Training, Colleges, and Universities represents a significant
victory for students and families across Ontario. Minister Dianne
Cunningham announced that the Queen's University proposal to
deregulate all tuition fees has been rejected. In other words, for
the time being, there will continue to be limits on tuition fee increases

supporters of accessible post-secondary education. The
Federation's lobbying efforts and media strategy - combined with
the Queen's students' occupation of Principal William Legget's
office last week, thousands of signatures on petitions, and your
message to the Minister - made Ontario's Conservative
government politically unable to adopt the Queen's proposal.
