English Electric Lightning F-6

This is the BEST model airfix has made full stop! Not only is this model a dream to make but the end results are great.I got the kit from my local model shop for £22.00 i think that this kit is a great buy. It is complicated and needs time to understand the instructions and i think that it is better to do a ''DRY RUN''first to see how parts go together and fit. I used this in the making of the radar bulet and the main body which would not go together at all so after heating it up in the microwave and applying glue and clamping together it finaly whent. The wings are warped and look naff but the rest of the kit is beautiful. The cockpit is the same one out of the box, but if i had the money i would of got the better resin kit with lights and ejector seat. After making this kit i looked for paint jobs and liked the Gloss black of Mike Beachy Head's E.E Lightning T-5 ZU-BBD but i didnt whant to copy it so i made up my own decals. If i could get a Lightning i would convert it in to a T-4 or T-5. There is a kit on the market but it looks hard to fit on to the Lightning so lets hope there is a less difficult one some where!!.
