“Absolute Supremacy” Chapter 4
“A Strange Twist”


Ginji walks into Gramps with Laney draped in his arms. “Gramps I need your help.” Ginji says to him. Gramps gets up from his chair walking toward the back of the room Ginji follows him.

“What happened Ginji and who is this young girl?” Gramps ask him.

“This is Laney Tohoshi she had a run in with Nori Mutsu.” Ginji tells him laying her down on the bed.

Gramps looks at Ginji, “Nori?! Nori Nanba Mutsu that cannot be, Nori would not hurt a fly. Now tell me Ginji, what really happen to this young lady?”

Ginji looks at Gramps confused, “I am telling you the truth.”

Gramps looks at Laney checking her out to make sure she is doing all right, “She is very weak she will need her rest. Is this Laney Kaley Tohoshi, Nori’s best friend?” Gramps asks Ginji looking at him.

“Yes it is how did you know that Gramps?” Ginji asks him.

“Nori has told us all about her. What went on between them Ginji for this to happen?” Gramps asks him. Ginji started to tell Gramps about the encounters between all of them and Nori, when Rin walks in unnoticed listening to what Ginji was telling Gramps.


“So you knocked Laney out to stop her rampage with her powers?” Gramps says to Ginji, Ginji nods.

“Nori said Laney did not have her powers in full control yet, why was she being so stupid and trying to use them to find Nori?” Rin says, Ginji and Gramps turns looking at Rin standing by Gramp’s desk.

“When did you get here?” Gramps asks her.

Rin walks over to them saying, “I walked in when Ginji started telling you about what happen between them all.”

“You know Nori to?” Ginji asks Rin.

“Nori and I are like good friends I have known Nori since Kagami brought her in here to the Limitless Fortress.” Rin tells him.

“How can you be friends with such a person Rin?” Ginji asks her.

Rin gets a defensive look on her face saying, “What do you mean by that Mr. Ginji, Nori is a sweet person she would never hurt anyone…” Rin pauses as the look on her face changes, “Well she would if they were trying to hurt her but with her powers she knows what the person is looking for. She knows who is out to hurt her and who her friends are.” Rin tells him.

“So if Nori is so sweet why is she trying to kill us?” Ginji asks Rin.

“Nori is not…” Rin was cut off, “I am not trying to kill you Ginji.” Nori says as she walks into the room looking over at them.

Ginji jumps up and goes into a defensive mode with Nori, Rin runs over to Nori and gives her a hug as Nori hugs her back, “Where have you been Nori I have not seen you in a few days?” Rin asks her.

“I have been sticking close to Kagami,” Nori says looking down at Rin, Nori looks over at Gramps, “Did you know Kagami has Senichi now?”

Gramps nods looking at Nori, “You know this means we are going to have to put the plan into action sooner. Senichi is very bitter from what has happen the last year. I am afraid Kagami will be able to turn him on me with great ease.” Nori tells Gramps.

“He has had him these last few days.” Gramps says.

“Yes I know that is why I have not been around I have been keeping an eye on what Kagami has been up to with Senichi.” Nori tells Gramps. Ginji is still standing there wondering what was going on.

“Has he started training Senichi with his powers?” Rin asks Nori.

Nori looks back at Rin, “Yes he has and Senichi has progressed greatly with his powers in just the few days he has been here with Kagami. I can feel a lot of anger from him when he uses his powers; I am worried about what Kagami might try to do with him and if he might turn him against me.”


Ginji finally chimes in saying, “Why would Kagami do that he wants you and your brother to help him take over the Limitless Fortress.” Nori looks at Ginji and smiles.

“Well I see you know a little more then I thought you knew.” Nori tells him walking toward him. Ginji is still in a defensive stance.

“Ginji…” Nori says laughing at him, “I am not going to hurt you, not now not ever so you can relax.”

“Yeah well if that is true why did you threaten to kill Ban?” Ginji asks her.

Nori laughs saying, “Ban is quite a character that he is. I need Ban’s help I cannot kill Ban, actually I need all of you to help me do what I need to get done.” Nori pauses looking at Laney, “Laney included I was hoping she would have had her powers under more control then what she has them under now. If she cannot control them any better then what I have seen so far she will be no help to me in this.” Nori sighs still looking at Laney she knells down at the side of her bed.

Nori brushes the hair from Laney’s face touching her cheek, “My dear friend, I have let you down many times in our life as friends. I knew if I told you what was needed of me you would not have understood then, I just hope now you can see why I have done all the things I have done this past year.” Nori tells Laney.

“Yeah and what is that?!” Ginji exclaims.

Nori turns looking at Ginji, “I am taking the Limitless Fortress away from Babylon City and giving it to the people that live here. Like it should have been so many years ago.” Nori tells Ginji. Ginji starts to laugh saying, “You will have to destroy Babylon City to do that and everyone that lives up there, we done try it a few years ago you will never do it.”

“I know you tried to do this Ginji why do you think I need your help. The reason you failed is you lack the information I now have on Babylon City and you are not related to one of the people that is helping run Babylon City.” Nori tells him.

Ginji gets a look of surprise on his face, “You are related to Kagami?” Ginji asks her.

Nori laughs saying, “No I am not related to Kagami. My Father and Mother is two of the people that helped build Babylon City and turn the Limitless Fortress into what it is today.” The look on Nori’s face changes to a hard cold look of pure hatred and pain, “I will stop my parents and the others for what they have done here. They think that the people that live here are their play things and toying with peoples lives are wrong. My parents pushed me and my brother aside to come and rule over The Limitless Fortress they not only made mine and Senichi life hell they have made hundreds of others suffer as well and I will stop them if it kills me to do so.”

“So this is all an act to get Kagami and the others to trust you.” Ginji says. Nori looks at Ginji as a tear rolls down here cheek she nods.

“I have almost complete control of all of my powers the most important ones to help me do this job at least. The only one’s I cannot control yet is the Jagan power and the Invisibility power. I can appear invisible to someone for a short time, but I cannot keep my power under control to keep me that way if I start to become upset or thinking of other things.” Nori tells Ginji.

“So that is why you need Ban so you can use his Jagan?” Ginji asks her. Nori nods, “But none of us can become invisible why do you need that?” Ginji adds.

“That is were Laney comes into play. She can read minds that is why I was saying, I was hoping she would have had her powers more under control by now.” Nori tells him.

“But Laney says she cannot read minds.” Ginji says.

Nori smiles, “That is only because she does not fully understand her powers yet or have them to her control. She does not know what she can and cannot do yet.” Nori tells him.

“So what are Laney’s powers, I take it you do know them?” Ginji asks her.

“Yes I do, all I have to do is touch a person and I will know everything about them even if they do not know it.” Nori tells Ginji.

“So that is how you knew me and Ban the first day we got here. You touched both of us knowing our names and what we were capable of doing.” Ginji says.

“Yes and Ban, Laney and you are the ones I will need the most to bring down Babylon City.” Nori tells him.

“What about your brother Nori?” Rin asks her.

“Senichi… I just want to get him away from Kagami before he makes him more bitter toward me for leaving him there with Mother and Father.” Nori tells her.

“I still do not understand why Kagami would do that if he wants to use you two to help him take over Babylon City.” Ginji says.

“Kagami is for Kagami and he will get what he wants at any expense… even if it is turning my own brother against me and I think Kagami is starting to think I am up to something.” Nori says.

“What has he said to you Nori?” Gramps asks her.

“He has said nothing really, he has just been really quiet about things lately, and what has been going on with the others and him, he uses to tell me everything when they would get together and talk, in the last month he has been keeping it to himself.” Nori says.

“Well the walls in the Limitless Fortress have ears. Are you sure he has not heard you talking about this to Gramps and Rin?” Ginji asks her.

“Everything that is said in here is safe. I have this room detached from the Limitless Fortress this room is like its own little world. What ever is said in here stays in here.” Gramps says.

“Well that is good to know.” Ginji says.

“I need to be going I just wanted to stop in and make sure Laney was all right after Ginji put a shock into to her.” Nori tells them.

“Where are you going Nori?” Ginji asks her.

“I need to go find Ban and talk to him about joining with me.” Nori says smiling.

“You know Ban will never do that with not knowing what is going on.” Ginji says.

Nori’s smile grows as she says, “We shall see Ginji I can be quite persuasive when I want to be.” Nori stops walking to the door of the room as she reaches for the door she turns her head looking over her shoulder at Ginji.

“You did know Ban has feelings for me, Right?” Ginji gets a shocked look on his face and can say nothing in return, “Oh and Ginji not a word to anyone about this outside of this room. Remember the walls have ears.” Nori’s words traveled off into the room as she vanished before their eyes.

Ginji shakes his head looking at Gramps and Rin, “Where did she go, did she even open the door and walk out?!” He exclaims.

Gramps laughs, “She is hard to get use to but once you have known her for a while she grows on you and you get use to her and her tricks she pulls.”

Ginji places his hand to his head still confused, “I need to go find the others I told them I would be back as soon as I could.” Ginji tells them.

“Remember Ginji not a word of this to anyone else out of this room. Kagami will surly find out if you talk about it out there where it can be heard by his informants.” Gramps says.

“I got it I will not say a word to anyone.” Ginji says.

“And remember to keep up the act between you and Nori. If Kagami sees your attitude toward Nori has changed, he might start questioning what is going on. Nothing has changed Nori as you know it is still trying to kill you and the others.” Gramps tells him.

Ginji smiles at Gramps, “I will keep things as they are and I am going to help Nori in every way. The more of us that pull together on this the better chance we have in destroying Babylon City.” Ginji tells him as he walks from the room.


Meanwhile Ban and the others are finding themselves getting separated from one another one by one. Ban finds himself and Himiko walking down a dimly lit hall.

“Ban it looks like we are the only two still together.” Himiko says, walking up behind Ban.

Ban still looking straight head making sure there are not traps for them he replies, “It looks that way Himiko, so stick close so it does not happen to us as well.”

“No problems there.” Himiko says Ban and Himiko keep walking as they find them selves standing in front of a doorway.

Ban turns looking at Himiko, “You ready?” Ban asks her.

“Do I have a choice?” Himiko asks him.

Ban laughs under his breath, “Not really, just get ready for anything and if we get separated go to Gramps and stay there I will get there as soon as I can, got it.” Ban tells her. Himiko nods as Ban starts to open the door in front of them. Ban pushes the door open as a bright light shines into the hall they were standing in. They squint their eyes from the brightness that beams into them. Ban looks out into the other room or so he thought was a room has he walks through the doorway Himiko follows.

“What the hell?!” Ban exclaims they look around finding themselves outside on what looked to be the roof of the Limitless Fortress.

“Are we on the roof?” Himiko asks. Ban looks at her about to say something as they hear Nori’s voice call out to them.

“Why yes you are.” Nori says to them. “Do you like it; it gives you quite a view of the city. At night the view is quite lovely.” Nori says walking toward Ban and Himiko.

Himiko takes a defensive stance as Ban stands there not moving watching her walk toward them. As Nori moves closer Himiko steps toward Nori, Nori lifts her hand toward Himiko with her fist closed and then quickly opens it. Himiko was knocked back away from Ban a few yards; she tried to walk toward Ban again and could not move.

Nori walks up to Ban facing him she tells him, “Tell your girlfriend to back down or she could get hurt. I am being nice at the moment.”

Ban smiles saying, “She is my friend not my girlfriend.” Nori smiles at Ban as she steps toward him, Himiko still stuck in suspended animation as she sees Nori move closer to Ban, Himiko struggles to get free of Nori’s hold.

Nori leans into Ban and whispers into his ear, “I think we need to be alone.” Nori looks over toward Himiko as she smiles at her Nori looks back at Ban.

“Why do you say that Nori, Himiko is far enough away she cannot hear you or I talk.” Ban tells her.

Nori smiles at Ban as she replies, “I work better without an audience and why would you want to be with someone that hates you, you do know Himiko hates you for killing her brother.”

Ban gets a shocked looked on his face looking at Himiko, Himiko sees his face and yells, “What ever she is telling you Ban it is a lie. Do not listen to her!”

Nori laughs saying loud enough for Himiko to hear, “That is what she says, but I know the truth.” Ban still shocked by what Nori told him he turns looking back at Nori.

“So you know this about her. What else do you know about us?” Ban asks her.

“Like I said I think we need to be alone.” Nori tells him again. Nori looks over at Himiko as the floor under Himiko opens up and Himiko falls through.

Ban yells, “HIMIKO!” He runs toward Himiko as the trap door closes. Ban spins around giving Nori a dirty look, “WHAT DID YOU DO WITH HIMIKO?!” Ban screams.

“She is safe I just sent her down to the floor below us. Now if she makes it through the maze of walls and assassins and gets to Gramps then we have no worries.” Nori laughs as Ban rushes toward Nori grabbing her by her arms. Nori pulls away from Ban’s hold and steps back still smiling.

“Now Ban why would you want to be associated with someone that hates you?” Nori asks him touching his chest trailing her fingers downward. Ban grabs her hand stopping her as their eyes are locked on one another.

Nori steps forward leaning into Ban she whispers in his ear again, “I need you Ban say you will join with me to help me do my bidding.”

Ban whispers back to her, “Your bidding or be your slave.”

Nori chuckles at him replying, “I need you to help me Ban.” Nori tells him as she pulls away from him placing her hand on his shoulder; she walks around behind him dragging her hand down his back. She steps up behind him Ban can feel her breath on his neck as she speaks to him softly.

“I cannot tell you much now Ban, but you have to trust me on this. I need you to join me to fight against Kagami and Babylon City.” Nori pulls away from Ban; he turns his head looking to see where she had gone as he notices her voice softly speak into his other ear.

“I need you and you will have to make Kagami believe that you have joined him in taking over Babylon City.” Nori walks around Ban facing him again he stands there silent looking into Nori’s eyes.

“Will you help me Ban?” Nori whispers to him.

“Kagami, tell me…” Ban pauses pushing Nori aside walking toward Kagami that was standing a few feet behind Nori. Nori turns watching Ban walk toward Kagami as he finishes his sentence.

“Nori tells me you are trying to take over Babylon City and she wants me to join in and help you to over come the people that stand in your way. Is this true?”

Kagami laughs saying, “Yes Nori seen in one of her visions that your help would be needed to take over Babylon City so she thought she would persuade you to join us. Tell me Ban was she successful in persuading you?”

Ban turns walking back toward Nori were she was standing, he slides his arms around her waist pulling her toward him.

Ban turns looking at Kagami he says, “With the offer she gave me how could I resist her?” Ban turns back around pulling Nori closer to him and kisses her; Nori stands there in shock from Ban’s kiss, but plays along with him.

Kagami laughs as Nori and Ban can hear him say, “Babylon City will soon be mine.”

Ban looks into Nori’s eyes and whispers to her, “You have a lot of explaining to do tonight.”
