"Battle of Nori Nanba"
Chapter 14


When Lord Sesshomaru comes back into the village, he sees Nori's parents sitting there talking to Haru and Sanako.

Haru looking at them says, "Why is he carrying Nori?" Her parent's look up getting up running out to them.

"What happened is she all right Lord Sesshomaru?" They ask him.

"Yes, she is fine she is just shaken up a little." He carries her into her room putting her on her bed. "I want you and Rin to stay inside until I return, I do not want you outside at all do you understand?" Sesshomaru tells them.

"Yes,” Nori tells him, “We will stay inside until you come back."

When Sesshomaru walks back outside where everyone is, they ask, "What happened and why is Nori so shook up?"

"Naraku's Saimyosho attacked her." Sesshomaru tells them.

"Naraku?!” Her Father exclaims, "Who is he?" Her father asked.


"A demon we have been hunting and trying to kill." Inuyasha says.

Lord Sesshomaru turns around, "I thought you went after him?" Sesshomaru says.

"We did but when we got so far north his scent was gone so we returned." Inuyasha told him.

"A demon," Haru says.

"Yes a very evil and dangerous demon." Kagome says. "Why, do you know of him?"

"No I do not, but if as you say his Saimyosho tried to attack Nori I think I might know why."

Lord Sesshomaru looks at him, "Why, if you know tell me."

"Well," Haru says, “About a month or so ago when Nori was caring for me she was attacked by a demon right here next to the well."

"Yes," Her father said, "I remember that, I was the one that found her lying out here next to the well."

"It could not have been Naraku she would have been dead he would not have spared her life." Inuyasha says.

"Well," Haru says, "He marked her I think that is why he spared her life. Right here on her neck."

"Yes," Her father says, "I remember when I put medicine on it how it blistered up like a burn."

Sesshomaru runs into the house to Nori he looks at her, moving her hair aside looking at her neck.

"What?!" she asks.

"Naraku has marked you, why did you not tell me this Nori?" Sesshomaru asks her.

"Naraku," She asks, "Are you sure it was him that marked me?"

"Yes why else would his Saimyosho try to take you?" Sesshomaru says.

Nori starts to feel faint and goes to sit down, "Was it him… I remember now… I remember the demon that attacked me."

"What did he look like Nori?" Sango asks.

"Do you remember what he looked like?” Kagome asks.

"He was tall with long black hair he was young very good looking with fair skin. I remember looking into his eyes his crimson red eyes. I could see evil, so much evil and that he was once a man."

She starts to cry, "I remember him saying... I will be back for you my sweet beautiful child... and I remember him saying something about you." She looks at Sesshomaru.

Sesshomaru goes to her putting his arms around her, "You will be safe here with us to protect you. He will not harm you. I will make sure of that.” He pulls her close to him.

"Stay in here and close the windows." Inuyasha says, "And do not come out of here for any reason!"

"If he is coming for her it will be soon he has already sent his Saimyosho to look for her he now knows where she is the one's that got away have already told him." Inuyasha says.

"We will be outside waiting for him and when he gets here he is going to have his hands full." Inuyasha adds.

"He is going to be shocked to see you and Lord Sesshomaru together." Miroku says.

"It does not matter." Sesshomaru says, "We need to kill him because if we do not he will kill Nori."

Nori is in shock and very upset at this time, Sesshomaru looks at everyone and says, "Leave me with Nori so I can talk to her. I will be out soon to help keep a watch for Naraku."

As everyone, left Sesshomaru takes Nori into his arms holding her closer then he ever has, "I promise you Nori, Naraku will not leave her with you and he will not harm you or anyone you love or care about. He will die by my hands." He sits in her room with her just holding her.


As the sun sets, Nori has fallen asleep and Sesshomaru has gone out to be with the others.

"How is she?” Her father asks.

"She is finally asleep." Sesshomaru says to him.

"Good she needs to rest." Her mother says.

"So what is the game plane?" Haru asks.

Sesshomaru looks at him, "What do you think you can do? We will be fighting a very powerful demon you are nothing but a human."

Haru gets up and walks up to Sesshomaru, "I maybe a human but I can hold my own when it comes to any demon. I have not lived as long as I have and fought as may demons as I have to let ONE demon kill my friends and anyway the more we have to throw at him the better chance we have at defeating him!"

"He is right Sesshomaru." Miroku says, "The more people attacking him will confuse him and we can kill him easier."

"Just remember Miroku you cannot suck him into your wind tunnel and watch out for his poison insects." Inuyasha tells him.

"Yes, I know this Inuyasha." Miroku says, "Thank you for reminding me."

While everyone is sitting around waiting for Naraku to come after Nori the sun starts to rise. Nori Nanba inside her room wonders if they have seen any signs of Naraku.

She walks outside to see Sesshomaru sitting under his usual tree. She starts to walk out to him. He sees her coming to him telling her, "NO, go back inside.” He yells to her, “I will come into you."

Nori turns around as Naraku appears in front of her in his human form, she turns to run from him, and he grabs her.

"No!" She screams waking everyone that was not already awakened. "Let me go!" she screams at him.

"I told you I would be back for you." He whispers in her ear.

"Let her go Naraku." Sesshomaru orders him.

"Lord Sesshomaru I was hoping to see you here. She is very beautiful isn't she just the kind of woman a man would die for."

Naraku turns her so he can look into her eyes, “You are a very beautiful creature. I wonder does Lord Sesshomaru really love you. Let us find out." Naraku takes Nori into his arms and kisses her.

Sesshomaru rushes him and attacks Naraku. Naraku puts up a barrier to block is attack Naraku laughs at him, "Do you really think I was going to be that easy to get to Lord Sesshomaru?"

Naraku turns Nori to look at Sesshomaru she is crying. Naraku puts his hand around her throat and jaw holding her head up, "Such soft warm skin.” He says as he kisses her neck. "I could eat her alive only wanting more of her."

Sesshomaru starting to get very upset at this time he sees Inuyasha running up to Naraku the blade on the Tetsusaiga glowing red.

Inuyasha yelling, "Sesshomaru get Nori." Inuyasha breaks through Naraku's barrier.

Sesshomaru getting Nori Nanba holding her close to him, "Are you alright?” He asks her.

"Yes I am now." She answers him.

He puts her down in front of the house, "Go inside and stay there." He tells her.

"Inuyasha," Naraku says, "I never thought I would see the day that you would help your older brother."

"It is not for him it is for Nori and because you decided to hurt one of my friends it is time for you to die." Inuyasha yells, "Wind Scar," and swings the Tetsusaiga at Naraku.

Sesshomaru sees Naraku dodge the Tetsusaiga's attack, and moves in with the Dragon Strike from the Tokijin giving Naraku a direct hit with it. Naraku is lying on the ground, Sesshomaru attacks him again with the Tokijin.

Naraku transforms into his demon form. Giving Sesshomaru a direct hit back from his attack, Inuyasha goes after Naraku with the Backlash Wave and hits him hurting him, taking off one on his limbs.

Kagome shoots one of her arrows at Naraku, but he stops it. Sesshomaru goes after him again with the Tokijin. As Miroku hits him with a few of his Sacred Sutras, Sango hits him with her Hiraikotsu still Naraku is fighting to his full power.

Naraku goes toward Nori and Haru steps between them, Inuyasha yells, "You fool get out of there, he will kill you!"

Haru attacks Naraku taking off two of his tentacles. Naraku attacks Haru back, taking him down and hurting him badly. Inuyasha attacks Naraku again with the Backlash Wave as Sesshomaru goes after him at the same time with the Dragon Strike. Naraku puts up his barrier and deflects the attacks sending them back at them. Sesshomaru and Inuyasha both hit and hurt.

Kagome, Sango, and Miroku hit him with all they have as Naraku sends them off with a near fatal attack on the three of them. Sesshomaru gets up and goes after Naraku once again. Naraku grabs Sesshomaru around the throat holding him up in the air. Sesshomaru drops the Tokijin.

Naraku laughs at him, "Will you die for Nori Nanba, Lord Sesshomaru? Do you love this human woman so much you will die for her?"

At this, time Inuyasha goes after Naraku again with the Wind Scare. Naraku hits Inuyasha with one of his tentacles sending him back into a tree Inuyasha hits the tree so hard that the tree snaps in half going down on top of Inuyasha.

Still holding Lord Sesshomaru in the air Naraku looks at Inuyasha and laughs, “Looks like you are the only one left Lord Sesshomaru.”

"Lord Sesshomaru!" Nori screams for him running out.

"No," He yells, "Go back!"

Nori stops as Naraku laughs, tightening his grip on Sesshomaru. "Answer me Lord Sesshomaru look at her she is beautiful. She more beautiful then any one creature in the land her skin like silk her eyes like blue pools of the deepest waters, her kisses are as sweet as honey." Naraku says.

Sesshomaru pulls the Tensaiga, “Answer me Lord Sesshomaru.”

Just then, Sesshomaru stabs Naraku with the Tensaiga. Naraku drops Sesshomaru as Sesshomaru goes after the Tokijin he stops kneeling down at it, "Naraku!" Lord Sesshomaru yells. "Yes! I would die for Nori!"

Sesshomaru runs toward Naraku ready to attack him with the Dragon Strike. Naraku laughs at him, "Then die," Naraku tells Sesshomaru.

Naraku hitting him with an attack that severely injured Lord Sesshomaru. "NO!" Nori yells. Nori is standing there as she sees Rin running out to Sesshomaru.

"No, Rin," Nori says at a whisper.

Naraku sees Rin running to Lord Sesshomaru and goes after her. Nori Nanba sees the Tokijin lying on the ground between Sesshomaru and Naraku she runs for it picking it up. Rin just gets to Sesshomaru she sees Nori running with the Tokijin toward Naraku.

"NO! Nori!" Rin yells.

Sesshomaru opens his eyes he sees Nori Nanba with the Tokijin in her hands. Naraku still going after Rin and Sesshomaru not seeing Nori under him ready to run the Tokijin threw him. Just before Naraku delivered the killing blow to Rin and Sesshomaru, Nori ran the Tokijin as deep as it would go into the lower half of Naraku's demon body. He screams grabbing her and holding her around her throat.

"NO!" Sesshomaru yells trying to get up. Rin helping him the best she could.

Naraku laughs, "Now you will die my sweet beautiful child." Naraku runs his tentacle threw Nori’s heart and dropping her to the ground.

Lord Sesshomaru sees Inuyasha climbing out from under the tree as he yells at Sesshomaru to go to Nori as Inuyasha attacks Naraku with the Backlash Wave once more injuring Naraku enough that he retreats.


Sesshomaru makes it to Nori as everyone else runs out to her. Nori lies there dying, Sesshomaru takes her in his arms, "You fool what were you thinking."

"I could not let him kill you and Rin, I could not... I love you both... I love you both too much to lose you." Nori tells him.

"So you let Naraku take your life for ours?" Sesshomaru says.

"Yes," she says, "I love you both that much... I will die for you!"

"Nori!" Rin yells, "Do not die please, do not leave us we love you do not leave us, please!"

"Sweet Rin, my sweet, sweet Rin," Nori takes Rin's hand, "Promise me you will take care of Lord Sesshomaru."

"No," Rin says, "You can take care of us you will be there for us to take care of us. I will not have to."

Tears stream down little Rin's face, Kagome takes Rin away from Nori, her father looks at Sesshomaru and shakes his head.

Sesshomaru knowing these will be the last moments he will have with Nori Nanba he looks at her. "Nori," she looks at him "Thank you"

“For what Sesshomaru?" Nori asks him.

"For loving me and teaching me how to love," He tells her.

She smiles at him, "You taught yourself how to love, I just gave you the chance to do it."

He places is hand on her cheek where he once felt the warmth of her life, her skin was growing cold, he kisses her sweet lips one last time.

"You told me you would always be there for me and you would never bring pain to my heart." He whispers to her.

"I will, I will always be there for you and Rin." Placing her hand over his heart, "I will always be right here. I will never leave as long as you love me and remember me. I will always be there for you when you need me. I am sorry if I hurt you I did not mean for Naraku to do this to me, but I could not let him take you and Rin. My life may as well been over if you two where to be gone." She tells him.

"It is better this way." Tears falling from her eyes she calls to Sesshomaru “Hold me, so cold.”

She places her hand on his cheek, "So beautiful,” she tells him, “I remember the first time I looked into your eyes, I loved you then, and I will always love you Sesshomaru. Tell Rin I love her as well."

"No!" He yells, "I will not let you die. I will not let you go how can this be better. I NEED YOU, do not go, hang on I know you can do it please, please." Sesshomaru begs her.

Nori dies in Lord Sesshomaru arms as he holds her close to him he tells her, "I swear that I will get revenge on Naraku for what he has done to you if it takes my last dying breath to kill him. I will kill Naraku with my own two hands for you."

He pulls Nori away to look at her beauty one last time and kisses her cheek, a single tear falls from Sesshomaru's eyes. He gets up picking up Nori and taking her to her room for the last time.

Rin comes running to Nori’s room with Lord Sesshomarus Tensaiga. "Lord Sesshomaru," She says, "You can save Nori with your Tensaiga," with tears in her eyes, "Please Lord Sesshomaru bring Nori back to us."

Lord Sesshomaru looking at the sword and looking at Nori Nanba he goes to wave the sword over the only women he has ever loved as Nori Nanba's mother walks in she looks at him in disapproval, but says nothing to stop him.

He looks at Nori once again her beauty has not faded, even in death. He touches her cheek remembering how warm it uses to be and wanting it back. He throws Tensaiga across the room sticking it into the wall.

"No," he says, "Nori would not want that she would not want me to bring her back with the Tensaiga she would feel as if she died for nothing if I do that to her." Lord Sesshomaru sits and holds Rin while they spend there last moments with Nori Nanba.

Lord Sesshomaru places his hand over his heart and whispers, “I know you are here Nori. I know you will always be here with me. I Love You and I will always remember you."
