“Crimson Tears”
Chapter 2


"He must REALLY care about her." Shippo mumbles silently.

"Let’s hurry back to the campsite before Inuyasha finds out we were spying on him." Miroku whispers urgently and they run off towards camp. "We don't want a repeat of what happened last time we were caught spying on him." He says and they run off.

The next day Inuyasha awakes with a start. "Cecile!" He yelled, awaking everyone there.

"What’s wrong Inuyasha?" Miroku says rubbing his eyes. Inuyasha leaps up into a nearby tree to scan the area but sees no sign of Cecile and his heart seems to have made its way into his throat.

"DAMN IT!" He says as he drives his fist into the tree trunk.

"No need to do that to the poor trees Inuyasha." Cecile says as she walks in with a slight smirk. At this Inuyasha jumps down and runs up to her fuming.

"WHAT IN THE HELL WERE YOU DOING?" He says with a snarl on his face.

“I went to the stream nearby to freshen up a bit Inuyasha." She says as she walks around him, clearly unshaken by Inuyasha's behavior.

“Wow, I've never seen anyone remain that calm after one of his outbursts… except Kagome that is." Sango thinks. "I wonder what today has in store for us."

After they are done eating breakfast they headed out towards the village, no one says a word until Cecile breaks the silence. “You do know Inuyasha that if Sesshomaru were to see you with me and he were angry it'd only make the situation a lot worse?"

“What ever you say isn't gonna change the fact that I'm going to come to the village with you." Inuyasha says with a low growl, "For once it would be great if you weren’t so damn stubborn!"

"I never implied anything about you not coming along, what I meant that it is best you keep your distance to avoid any more trouble if there is going to be any trouble Inuyasha!" Cecile says and storms on ahead.

"W… wait Cecile!" Inuyasha yells after her and runs off to catch up with her.

"You know… this is a lot like his relationship with Kagome… if it wasn't apparent that Cecile loved Sesshomaru, then one would think they had something going on..." Miroku says and gets a rock thrown at his head by Shippo. "WHAT WAS THAT FOR?" He yells.

"QUIT assuming...THINGS... Inuyasha likes Ka...go... ME! Not Cecile! Now lets hurry since were losing him already. If Inuyasha were here he would have beaten BOTH of you to death already." Sango grumbles. "You know... your right! It seems I can't see him anymore..." Shippo says with worry.

"Cecile... wait! I’m sorry!" Inuyasha says but Cecile does not slow down at all.

"He doesn’t understand... I... love Sesshomaru with all my heart... I... I couldn't just give it all up... I have to try… I have to reach him. I don't care if it costs me my life!" Cecile thinks but does not realize that Inuyasha has already caught up with her and is stopped by him.

"IF YOU DON'T WANT TO HELP THEN GO AWAY! YOU AREN'T EXACTLY OBLIGATED TO HELP ME YOU KNOW!" She cries.

"Cecile... I never meant this.... I just don't want you to get hurt is all... you were one of my only friends... you always stood up for me when the others picked on me for being a half demon... so now I want to repay you.” Inuyasha says.

"Don't you think I've had enough PROTECTING? 100 years is a long time to be alone Inuyasha… you… separated me from my village… from him... please… just let me do this. If you stand by me it's alright, if not well I'm still going to go and you can't stop me!" Cecile says.

"Heh... stubborn as always... alright I shall respect your wishes however, that doesn’t mean I won’t jump in to save you if things get hairy... I'll kill him if he hurts you." Inuyasha says while holding Tetsusaiga’s hilt.

"My hero...” Cecile says and rolls her eyes. "Alright… then let’s go. Wait, is it just me, or are we alone here?"


Meanwhile farther into the forest we find a group of three travelers,

"Where are we going M'Lord?" A young girl asks.

"Somewhere... just be quiet and come along." Sesshomaru says.

"Alright M'Lord." She says happily and skips along. "Do you think that it will be fun master Jaken?" She whispers.

"I doubt that Rin." Jaken says while looking at his lord's face. "By the way Lord Sesshomaru has been acting as of late… I highly doubt it will be pleasant."

"What was that Jaken?" Lord Sesshomaru asks.

"N… nothing M'Lord!" Jaken murmured.

"Good then hurry up before I kick you the rest of the way there." Sesshomaru says.

"Yes!" Jaken says and picks his pace up.

"He really isn't in a good mood, usually he just threatens to cut Jaken down with his Tensaiga, I wonder...” Rin thinks.


"MIROKU! SANGO! SHIPPO!" Inuyasha yells. "Where could they have gone?" Inuyasha thinks.

"They must have not been able to keep up with us." Cecile says.

Inuyasha sighs. "Well we can't stop now. I hope that they will be able to catch up with us later. Let’s just keep moving." Inuyasha and Cecile both head off towards Cecile's village not saying a word until they finally arrive.

"We're here... great" Inuyasha mumbles.


"Jaken, I want you to take Rin across the river over there and wait until I come back for you. I have a few things I need to attend to." Sesshomaru says.

"Is there anything we can do to help M'lord?" Rin exclaims.

"No Rin, the best way to help would be to stay away like I've ordered." Sesshomaru tells her.

“Alright M'lord I wish you well!" Rin says and runs off after Jaken.


"It's just like I remembered... minus the people that is." Cecile sighs. She walks around the now empty village and sighs once more.

"Yeah I remember this place all too well." Inuyasha says. "It's sad to see a place once so alive so empty now. Let’s go over to my house... I want to look at it once more."

They light a fire and sit around it not saying a word until Inuyasha gets annoyed. "So Cecile… when do you plan on calling on Sesshomaru exactly... I'm ready when you are you know..."

"I was hoping we could try tomorrow. Right now, I am worn out and need some rest... I'm sure you could say the same eh Inuyasha?" She says in a mocking tone.

"Yeah sure... alright." He yawns. "Tomorrow it is then..." and he falls fast asleep.

As soon as she is sure that he is fully asleep, she gets up. "I’m sorry Inuyasha... its just... if Sesshomaru does get mad... I do not want either you or him to get hurt. I’m willing to pay the consequences if necessary."

She walks out silently so to not wake Inuyasha. She heads off towards the nearby forest area in the village and stops as soon as she sees him standing there.

"I knew you'd already be here waiting." She says as she walks up to him.

"What did you do to me? Why do I feel the need to come to you whenever you sing Cecile? Is that damn spell still working?" Sesshomaru says in a low tone.

"Yes it is in fact... pretty obvious no?" she laughs.

"Why did you call me here?" Sesshomaru asks her.

"To see you Sesshomaru, so that I could see you once more and talk to you." Cecile tells him.

"Why is that Cecile?" He says stepping closer to her. "I do not like being under the control of anyone and I especially don't like being called upon and being forced to come like some filthy mongrel."

At this Cecile only laughs. "You’re still the same way I remember you. Only your eyes are not as cold as before. Is it because of the human child you picked up?" She taunts. “I always knew you had a soft side to you."

“I’d appreciate it if you mined your own business and refrain from taunting me. I do not especially like being likened as to having ‘emotions’."

"You don't like a lot of things, but I was wondering if you still had the slightest bit of feels left for me?" Cecile asks him.

Sesshomaru steps closer to Cecile as he says, “Why would you care? If I remember correctly, you were the one that left so many years ago. Maybe I should be asking you that question.”

Cecile shakes her head as she says, “I did not leave on my own accord Sesshomaru and you know that.”

“Yes I do, my half breed brother thought it would be better for you to be away from me.” Sesshomaru tells her.

Cecile chuckles saying, “Well you cannot blame him for doing so after all you did threaten to kill me Sesshomaru.”

“If I wanted you dead I would have killed you when I killed your father.” Sesshomaru tells her.

Cecile hangs her head as the fight between her father and Sesshomaru flashes in her mind tears begin to sting her eyes as she feels Sesshomaru grab her arm and jerks her to attention to look at him. Startled she quickly looks up into his eyes, she saw Sesshomaru was angered as his eyes locked with hers, but soon becoming soft like she remembered so long ago when they were younger. Sesshomaru releases Cecile and quickly turns his back to her.

“Leave me alone Cecile… never call upon me again. What was between us a 100 years ago is dead and buried never to live again.” Sesshomaru says walking away from her. Cecile quickly walks toward him catching his kimono sleeve Sesshomaru turns angered that she has stopped him as he hears her say,

“You lie Sesshomaru. I saw it in your eyes… you do still care. Why are you afraid of me?”

Sesshomaru reaches for the Tokijin pulling it from the sheath raising it above Cecile’s head. Cecile watches him looking into his eyes she says,

“Do it My Lord… bring your blade crashing down upon me and take me from this world. A world without your love is no world I wish to live in.” Cecile releases him, closing her eyes and hangs her head waiting for the blow from his sword. Sesshomaru turns re-sheathing the Tokijin as he walks away from Cecile she hears him says,

“If I see you again Cecile I will not hastate to kill you. Consider yourself warned.” Sesshomaru tells her disappearing into the forest. Cecile falls to her knees sobbing into her hands she remains there for a few minutes when she hears a child’s voice call out to her,

“Are you alright Ma’am?” Cecile looks up seeing a young girl walking toward her smiling a cheerful childish grin. Cecile wipes away her tears as she says, “I will be fine thank you.” Cecile looks around for her mother and father as she asks her, “Are you alone little girl?”

“Oh no, M’Lord is around here somewhere he told us to wait for him and I came upon you crying here.” Rin tells her.

“Your lord?” Cecile asks her.

“Yes Lord Sesshomaru.” Rin tells her. Cecile gets a shocked looked on her face as she thinks, “This is the young child that travels with Sesshomaru.”

Just then Inuyasha comes crashing through the trees with the Tensaiga pulled as he is yelling, “CECILE YOU IDIOT!!”

Miroku, Sango, and Shippo coming running toward them as Cecile hears Miroku saying, “OH now that was discreet Inuyasha, what happen to not rushing in just in case Sesshomaru had a hold of her?”

Inuyasha turns growling at Miroku as he says scornfully, “I thought you were too tired to call Sesshomaru tonight?” Inuyasha turns back looking at Cecile as he sees Rin standing next to Cecile Inuyasha says, “What are you babysitting the brat now?” Inuyasha glares at Rin.

“Inuyasha please do not call her a brat that is very rude of you.” Cecile tells him.

“Well then what is she doing here and where is that worthless brother of mine?” Inuyasha asks.

“What makes you think Sesshomaru is or even was here Inuyasha?” Cecile asks him.

Inuyasha looks around sniffing the air as he says, “Because I can smell him all over the place.” Inuyasha walks up to Cecile and sniffs her, Cecile gets an annoyed look on her face as she pushes Inuyasha away from her.

“His scent is too strong to be coming only from her.” Inuyasha says pointing at Rin. Rin steps behind Cecile as she grabs a hold of her kimono.

Cecile looks down at Rin as she says, “Inuyasha’s bark is much worse then his bit sweetie he will not hurt you.”

“WHAT!!” Inuyasha exclaims. Sango and the others chuckle as Inuyasha growls under his breath.

“I know Cecile… I know Inuyasha, Miroku, Sango, and Shippo. Where is Kagome by the way?” Rin asks looking at Sango and the others.

“She went back home she should be back in a few more days.” Shippo says.

“ENOUGH!!” Inuyasha exclaims, “I want to know where my brother is and why you came to meet him alone after what I told you?”

Cecile looks at Inuyasha, as she was getting ready to answer him as they hear, “Rin come here!”

They turn looking at Sesshomaru as he and Jaken come walking through the trees,

“Rin there you are why do you have to be such a brat. You need to stop running off like that.” Jaken tells her.

Rin stands there watching them walk toward them as Sesshomaru says again, “Come here Rin!”

Cecile looks down at Rin and smiles as Rin runs off toward Lord Sesshomaru, “It was nice meeting you Cecile.” Rin calls back to her.

“It was nice meeting you as well Rin.” Cecile says.

Sesshomaru stops as Rin runs up to him she tells him, “M’Lord I did not know you knew such nice ladies as Miss Cecile, why do you never speak of her?” Sesshomaru looks down on Rin giving her a look of disapproval as Jaken chimes in saying, “That is M’Lord’s business none of yours Rin. Now leave him alone and let him do what he needs to do.” Jaken herds Rin behind Sesshomaru as Sesshomaru pulls the Tokijin from its sheath.

Inuyasha steps between Cecile and Sesshomaru with the Tetsusaiga still pulled as he says, “I will not let you have her Sesshomaru not as long as I live and breath.”

“Well then this should be easy enough.” Sesshomaru tells Inuyasha. Inuyasha growls running toward Sesshomaru as Sesshomaru steps quickly toward him.

Cecile yells, “NO!!” She holds up her hands as a burst of energy flies from her causing a shield to erect between the two brothers. Inuyasha and Sesshomaru both hit the wall with great force sending them both back to the ground.

Cecile holds the shield in place as she tells Miroku, “Go get Inuyasha.” Miroku nods running toward Inuyasha helping him from the ground.

Inuyasha grumbles and groans as he walks back toward Cecile and the others as he exclaims, “What the hell do you think you are doing Cecile? I could have had him and you go and do something like that.”

Sesshomaru picks his self up from the ground as Jaken and Rin run out to him, Sesshomaru does not take his eyes from Cecile as she hears him say, “You were wise to do that Cecile for I would have killed Inuyasha.”

“WHAT EVER YOU ARROGANT BASTARD!!” Inuyasha yells back at him still stunned from hitting the shield Cecile erected.

“Leave Sesshomaru you have what you came for.” Cecile tells him.

“You mean you do not want me to stay Cecile?” Sesshomaru asks her.

“I wish you to leave for now we will finish this another time.” Cecile says in an annoyed tone.

Sesshomaru turns walking away as they hear him says, “Yes we will Cecile and when we do things will be my way from then on.”

Cecile watches them walk back into the forest before she drops the shield. Cecile turns sees Inuyasha against a tree still trying to get his bearings and Sango, Miroku, and Shippo standing around him asking him if he was all right.

Cecile walks past them as she says, “Go home Inuyasha, I no longer need your help.”

Inuyasha stands up from the tree as he goes after Cecile stumbling every step of the way. Inuyasha finally catches up with her as he grabs her arm spinning her around to look at him he exclaims, “You’re a fool if you think I am leaving now after what he just told you.”

“You have no business here this is between Lord Sesshomaru and I and I will handle it from here on out.” Cecile pulls away from Inuyasha turning and walking away from him.

Sango, Miroku, and Shippo walk up to Inuyasha as Miroku says, “She is very strong to put up a shield that stopped you and Lord Sesshomaru.”

Inuyasha looks at Miroku irritated walking off he says, “That is not the point here. Sesshomaru knows she can stop him she is stronger then her father is and she was stronger then her father back when Sesshomaru killed him. Sesshomaru knows this so if and when he goes to kill her he will do it while her back is turned or she is asleep that is the only chance he will ever get to do it.” Inuyasha walks away from them going off to be alone.
