“Curse or God Sent” Chapter 4
‘When Two Worlds Collide’


Nori turns looking at Sanzo as she shakes her head walking toward him; Sanzo giving her a dirty look.

“We can do this one of two ways…” Nori started to say being cut off by Sanzo.

"WE will not be doing anything I can do it myself.” Sanzo tells her in a cold tone.

“Fine do it yourself then.” Nori says in a hateful tone picking up the bandages and sitting them on the bed next to him, she takes a seat in the floor with her tiles. Sanzo pushes himself up in his bed again as Nori watches from the floor. She starts to feel sorry for him and the pain she has caused him. As she goes to move to help him she causes herself pain as well and the thought of feeling sorry for Sanzo is gone. She glares at him from her seat on the floor.

“Why are you sitting on the floor? There is a table right over there you can sit at.” Sanzo tells her irritated giving her his cold eyes.

“Well if you must know I am more comfortable on the floor, and I can sit here and bug you as well, because now I know you do not want me to sit here.” Nori says smiling as she moves cringing.

She dared not grab her side to let Sanzo know she is hurting. Sanzo starts to unwrap his bandages as she sits in the floor setting up her game. She glances up at Sanzo every once in a while when he was not looking to see how he was coming along with his bandages, as Sanzo glances at her as well when she was not looking at him.

“The White Dragon’s” Nori looks up at Sanzo he is sits messing with his bandages, she huffs and goes back to her game picking up the two White Dragons. As she continues to play her game she hears.

“The Cherrie Blossoms, then the North’s.” She looks back up at Sanzo.

“Did I ask you for your help…?” Sanzo went to speak as Nori blurted out,

“NO I DID NOT, so just take care of your wound and leave me and my game alone.” Nori went back to her tiles. She felt something bump her foot she looked and seen it was Sanzo’s bandages. She goes back to her game paying no mind to him or the bandages. She could hear Sanzo mumble something under his breath, she looks up at him.

“What was that Sanzo?” Nori asks him.

“Nothing…” Sanzo replies.

“Oh ok I thought you might have been talking to me.” Nori says going back to her game again.

All of a sudden Sanzo says in a quite but highly angered tone, “Will you hand me the bandages that fell down there.” Nori looks at the bandages next to her foot as she reaches for them picking them up.

“You mean this…” she says holding them up for him to see.

“Yes that…” Sanzo says from behind gritted teeth.

“Oh but I thought you could do it on your own Sanzo?” Nori asks him.

“I can if you will just give me the bandages that fell onto the floor.” He said still though gritted teeth.

“But Sanzo if you can do it yourself then you should be able to get the bandages that hit the floor as well.” Nori tells him smiling a devious smile at him.

“WILL YOU JUST HAND ME THE DAMN BANADGES!!” Sanzo yells at her. Nori’s eyes widen as she stares at him she gets up from the floor. A sharp pain shoots through her side; she grabs her side while she is trying to stand on her feet.

“What the hell is wrong with you?” Sanzo asks her. She turns and losses all composure toward him.

“You are what is wrong with me, you think you’re the only one that got hurt here… well you’re wrong!!” Nori exclaims. Sanzo looks at her as a devilish grin comes across his face.

“So you’re saying I shot you?” Sanzo says still smiling. Nori gives him a look that burns right through him.

“You’re lying.” Sanzo says to her as his eyes turn colder.

“You think I am lying to you… FINE, you are such an ass.” Nori storms out of the room leaving the door open to Sanzo’s room going to her and Laney’s room. Sanzo hears the door slam to their room as she walks back into their room slamming that door as well. She throws something at Sanzo as it hits him in the chest and lands in his lap.

“Here is the bullet I dug out of my side last night you can have it back I sure the hell do not want it.” Nori says in an ice cold tone.

Sanzo picks up the bullet in his lap as he looks at it. Nori sits at the foot of Gojyo’s bed as she falls back looking at the ceiling, she hears Sanzo groan in pain she sighs she gets to her feet and walks over to him,

“Look Sanzo I know what I did was wrong and I am…”

Sanzo interrupts her, “Go way Nori I do not need your help.”

Nori growls under her breath as she touches Sanzo’s shoulder next to his neck he tries to move away from her as she applies slight pressure and Sanzo passes out hunching forward.

Nori shakes her head and whispers into the silence of the room as she kneels at the side of the bed, “Why do you have to be so cold Sanzo, I can see you have a good heart you just refuse to show it.” Nori starts to finish his bandaging as she lays him back into his bed she removes the padding over the one wound she lays her hand over the wound as she closes her eyes,

“There is where you are getting all your pain.” She says opening her eyes she looks at Sanzo and smiles, “I will stop you’re pain and I am sorry I never wanted us to be enemies.” She says touching the side of his face moving his hair.

She places her hands over his wound as a blue glow rises from Sanzo’s body. After a few minutes Nori falls back sitting down on her legs she sits there as the sharp pains stabs her in her side again she reaches for it. She feels wetness beneath her hand as she pulls it away seeing blood on her hand and soaking her shirt, Nori smiles and gives a slight chuckle.

“That took more from me then I thought it would.” She tries to stand but at that moment she could not. She sits back to rest for a few minutes while she is sitting there she thinks to herself, “He is very handsome…” Nori’s eyes search his body as she looks at his tan bare muscular chest she smiles, “And a nice body too boot… very fit.”

Sanzo starts to move, she looks up shocked. Sanzo turns his head looking at her as she quickly places her hand over her side so he could not see she was bleeding. He looks down on his wound as he notices the constant pain he was having had subsided, he sits up in his bed looking down on Nori wondering if she was the one that stopped the pain he was feeling in his side.

He extends his hand out to her saying, “Are you all right Nori?” Nori looks at him confused wondering what happen to him he was being too nice all of a sudden, Sanzo he could see she was hurting.

“I will be fine thank you, just feeling a little weak right now.” Nori tells him turning and looking away from him.

“Take my hand I will help you up.” Sanzo tells her. She looked back at him as his hand is still extended out to her, she sighs reaching for his hand as he pulls her up to the bed and he sits her next to him. She casts her eyes down seeing his right side where she had pierced the skin when their encounter first started,

“This looks good… it is healing quite well.” She says as she touches Sanzo’s side. He moves from her touch as she pulls back her hand.

She looks him in the eyes saying, “I am sorry Sanzo I should not have stabbed you.” Sanzo could see that Nori was sincere in her words. She goes to move as she holds her side tighter as she stands, Sanzo watches her he sees she has blood soaking her shirt under her hand.

She kneels in front of him and takes the bandages and starts to cover his wounds again, the room was silent the whole time, Sanzo looks down on her as she doctors him he thinks to himself, “Did she take this pain from me that I was feeling, I know she is one of The Last Children I know she has healing powers and other capabilities, I also know she is dangerous, but for some reason she seems different. I do not feel danger from her nor have I ever.”

Sanzo reaches to her touching her cheek and chin lifting her head to look at him, she looks up at him as they look into each others eyes. They smile at one another, Nori starts to feel like she had swallowed butterflies as she quickly looks away from Sanzo,

“Ok all done.” Nori says as she goes to stand and then slowly lowers herself back down to the floor, “I think I will sit here a little longer.” She says as she chuckles.

“No you need to get cleaned up and medical attention yourself.” Sanzo tells her as he firmly places both hands on her shoulders and lifts her to the bed.

She tells Sanzo as he helps her up, “I will be fine really; it just took a little more from me then I thought it would when I went to heal yo…” Nori stops when she sees Sanzo looking into her eyes again.

“When you went to heal me?” Sanzo asks her. Nori looks into his eyes as her stomach starts to feel like she had swallowed butterflies again, she gets quickly to her feet even though the pain is greatly hurting her she walks toward the door saying.

“I… I will go to my room and get cleaned up; I will be right back Sanzo.” She exits the room closing the door behind her.

She goes to her and Laney’s room as she walks in closing and locking the door behind her, she falls to her hands and knees. She starts to cry from the pain as it starts to take over her body. She holds her side as she grits her teeth saying in low angered tone,

“NO… I WILL NOT LET YOU DEFEAT ME, YOU HAVE NOT WON NOT NOW, NOT EVER.” Nori clinches her fist as she pushes herself up to her knees then she starts to stand as she grits her teeth clinching her fist tighter. She comes to a full stand as she closes her eyes and tilts back her head she growls under her breath as she lets out a blood curdling scream.


Laney and the others were in the village shopping when Laney heard Nori scream the guys look at one another, “What was that?” Goku says,

“NO…NORI YOU CANNOT !!” Laney says to herself running from the store. Everyone watched Laney run out of the shop.

“Where is she off to in such a hurry?” Gojyo says.

Hakkai and Goku look at one another running toward the door of the store. “Nori… Sanzo!!” They both say Gojyo runs out after them, they see Laney running toward the Inn taking off after her. When they get up to the room’s they see Sanzo pounding on Laney and Nori’s room door.

“Nori are you all right, Nori open the door, Nori… NORI!!” Sanzo yells. They were shocked to see Sanzo standing in the hall worried about Nori.

“What is going on?” Hakkai asks Sanzo. Sanzo looks at Hakkai with a confused look on his face.

“I am not sure.” Sanzo tells him, they all look at Laney. Laney looks at the guy’s and walks to the door and opens it with her key.

“Wait here please I will make sure she is all right.” Laney tells them.

“I do not think so…” Sanzo says pushing his way into the room, “She is hurt because of me. I want to know if she is alright.” Laney puts her hand in the center of Sanzo’s chest stopping him.

“I will tell you how she is doing once I come from the room. Believe me Sanzo you do not want to see her right now… she is not safe to be around.” Laney says as she walks into the room and relocks the door.

Laney stands in front of the door as she sees Nori’s blood on the floor, she hears water running and looks toward the bathroom Laney walks toward the bathroom and slowly pushes the door open.

“Nori… Nori are you all right?” Laney walks slowly into the bathroom; knowing that Nori is unstable at this time, she knows she can stop Nori if she goes to attack her but releasing the demon within herself is something Laney dose not like to do. Laney walks to the shower and slides the curtain slowly to reveal Nori cowered down in the corner of it, blood circles around her feet in the water.

“Nori…” Laney whispers to her. Nori jerks her head up looking up at Laney her eyes glowed a heart stabbing ice blue.

“Nori are you all right?”

“Go away and leave me alone Laney.” Nori growled at her.

“Why did you try and heal yourself Nori?” Laney asks her.

“Sanzo…” was all Nori said.

“What about Sanzo?” Laney asks her, Laney then realized what Nori tried to do when she remembers Sanzo in the hall as if he had never been hurt, “You healed Sanzo…” Laney sighed as she lowered herself to the floor sitting down.


Later on still out in the hall the guys stand talking, “What happened to Nori Sanzo?” Goku asks him.

Sanzo looks at Goku, “I am not sure she left the room to clean her self up and then she was screaming.”

“So why are you up running to her aid?” Gojyo asks him sarcastically.

“Yeah Sanzo you act as if you were never hurt?” Goku asks him.

“Nori healed me.” Sanzo said quietly.

“Nori did what?” Hakkai asks him in a shocked tone.

Sanzo looked at Hakkai, “I said she healed me.” He said in a slightly irritated tone.

Goku looks at Hakkai with a worried look, “What is it Goku?” Hakkai asks him.

“Well… I thought there were some powers Nori could not use because they slowly kill her.” Goku said.

Hakkai looks at Sanzo, “Tell me what happened before Nori screamed Sanzo.” Sanzo starts to tell Hakkai the details of what happen.

Meanwhile back in the girl’s room Laney is still sitting in the floor of the bathroom. Nori looks up at Laney as she sees her with her legs drawn up to her chest and her chin resting on her knees looking straight at her. Nori smiles at her and says,

“I did it again, huh?”

“Yes but you are bleeding this time, what happen?” Laney told her pointing at her side.

“EH!!” Nori says looking down. She pulls up her shirt and looks at the wound, “HA, it healed some.” Nori says.

“Nori what happen?!” Laney exclaims.

“Remember Sanzo gave this to me the other night when we got into it.” Nori tells her getting up from the floor of the shower stall she pulls the curtain.

“I know Sanzo shot you that night, I want to know what happen just now.” Laney says.

Nori starts to undress as she hands Laney her cloths and rinses the remaining blood from her body. “I healed Sanzo.” Nori told Laney.

“So you did heal Sanzo.” Laney says.

“You saw that huh.” Nori says chuckling.

“Yes he was standing in the hall banging on the door calling to you.” Laney said Nori poked her head out from behind the shower curtain.

“Sanzo was worried about me?!” Nori exclaims.

“Why did you heal him when you were hurt yourself? You know what happens every time you use that power and you did it while being hurt, THEN you come over here and HEAL yourself you’re looking for this curse to kill you.” Laney says.

Nori turns the shower off poking her head out and said, “Look Laney I have not done anything like this in along time… Hand me a towel please…” Laney hands Nori a towel, “Thank you… Sanzo was hurting and… well… you told me to start getting along with him plus I did not want to see him hurt any more, anyway I did not have it in me to totally heal him I was only able to partially heal him.”

“So you took his pain away and healed him?” Laney says shaking her head as Nori slides the curtain looking at her. “You have fallen for him haven’t you? ALL READY!!” Laney says with her arms crossed over her chest looking straight at Nori.

“WHAT… NOOO… Laney I just meet him, you’re talking crazy.” Nori tells her as she walks into the other room.

“Nori stop playing, you know that I know you can see into a persons heart. We both know that when you fall for a guy, even though you have only fallen for two guys in your life time, it is because of what you have found in their heart and I do believe Sanzo has a good heart, he just does not show it as much.” Laney says. Nori laughs and shakes her head at Laney, “Ok… well maybe a little I have fallen for him. He does have a good heart Laney, but I seen…” Nori stops,

“A lot of pain?” Laney says.

“No… I saw anger at what he was…” Nori says turning her back to Laney.

“Well I cannot say I blame him look what his kind has done to people?! People like us… if it was not for his kind and casting that curse on us we wouldn’t be here right now. We need to know where to find Yukihiko!” Laney exclaims in an angered tone. Nori laughs looking at Laney.

“Ok, Ok give me the next few days and I will give you details, just be careful what you say to Hakkai or the others because they do not even know what they were. I think Goku is the only one that truly knows what he is.” Nori says Laney stands there in shock as Nori’s words circle around confusing her.

Nori laughs, “Do not worry Laney I will find out what we need to know from Sanzo.”

“Fine I will trust you on this.” Laney says.

“That’s a first…” Nori says laughing as she is getting dressed. Laney turns walking toward the door, “I am going to let the guys know you are all right. Hurry and dress and come over to their room.” Laney tells her Nori nods as she watches her leave the room.


When the door to their room opens the guys look straight at Laney she sees them leaning up against the wall on the other side of the hall.

“Is Nori all right Laney?” Goku asks first as he quickly walked up to her. The others follow him.

“Yes Goku Nori is fine now.” Laney tells him.

“And her wound?” Hakkai asks Laney.

“She healed it the best she could with what strength she had left from trying to heal Sanzo.” Laney said.

“Is that why she screamed was because she tried to heal herself?” Goku asks.

Laney smiles at Goku, “No… Nori draws on the Chi of objects and people around her when she is hurt or angry or her Chi itself is weak. When she felt the curse draining what Chi she had left she called upon the Chi of the things around her, this causes great pain for her but helps her fight off the curse.”

Goku looks at Laney with a sad look on his face. Sanzo turns walking back into their room leaving the door open. Laney and the others stand out in the hall longer talking about Nori. Sanzo can hear everything they are saying to one another.

“Laney does Nori know when the curse will kill her?” Goku asks her.

“No… but she does know when it is trying to kill her, when she goes and does things like what she did today it drains her Chi... Well that is when the curse attacks her it knows when her Chi is weak that is why she must not use certain powers, it takes too much from her, I do believe if she would not have been hurt and tried to help Sanzo she would have been fine.” Laney tells them.

“So if Nori’s Chi is strong and her health good the curse is at a stand still and cannot harm her? Is that what you are saying Laney?” Gojyo asks her.

“Yes Nori’s health and Chi has been at it’s highest for sometime now and she has had no problems with the curse, I am not sure how bad that wound was on her that Sanzo gave her but it must have been bad to drain her like this.” Laney says.

“Laney let me ask you something?” Hakkai says Laney nods as Hakkai contains, “The curse of the Last Children, how evil of a curse is it?”

“I am not sure why do you ask Hakkai?” Laney says.

“The gun Nori was shot with…”

“Was a banishing gun…” Nori says as she walks from the room interrupting Hakkai, they all look in Nori’s direction as she walks toward them with a smile on her face.

Sanzo picks up the bullet from the bed table that Nori had thrown at him earlier looking at it.

“I cleaned up the mess in front of the door as well Laney.” Nori tells her when she stops next to her.

“Are you all right Nori?” Laney asks her.

“I am fine now, why do you ask?” Nori says.

“Are you sure…” Laney prodded; Laney steps closer to Nori and looks at her eyes.

“WHAT…” Nori says blinking her eyes.

“Your eyes are not as blue as they usually are, it has me worried.” Laney says.

“She is right Nori they are really pale.” Gojyo says.

“I am fine, stop it!” Nori says as she walks in to the guy’s room. She sees Sanzo sitting on the edge of his bed with his gun sitting on the bed table next to him.

She sighs and walks toward him, “You should be in bed still I know you feel better, but you are not completely healed yet.” Nori tells him stopping next to his bed looking down at him.

“What was that you said in the hall, ‘I am fine’?” Sanzo tells her in a deep tone.

She shakes her head, “Sorry that is not going to work for you, in bed now.” Nori tells him. The others stand in the doorway looking in to see what was going to happen as they go unnoticed to either Sanzo or Nori.

Sanzo sighs and looks up at Nori, “Fine…” Sanzo says as he slides back into his bed.

“Good… now if you would like I will bring a table over here and we can play some cards or…”

Sanzo cut Nori off, “Mah Jong… Please I would rather play Mah Jong.” He tells Nori with a smile.

She smiles back at him saying, “That is fine if that is what you would like to play then Mah Jong it is, but let me warn you I am good.” Nori tells him.

Sanzo laughs saying, “Good at least I will have some competition instead of the losers I have been playing.” Sanzo says.

Gojyo goes to step into the room by what Sanzo said as Hakkai and Laney grab him pulling him back into the hall and quietly closing the door to leave them alone.

Nori slid the table over to the side of the bed so she and Sanzo could play Mah Jong as she picks up the tiles from the floor where she left them placing them on the table. Sanzo sets them up so they could get their tiles once Nori sat down. Nori sets the last few tiles down as she starts to help Sanzo set them up. Nori goes to get herself a chair as she packs it over to the table and sits it down and takes a seat.

Sanzo looks at her and says, “Ready to get your butt kicked?”

Nori laughs and shakes her head, “Bring it on Sanzo.”

They both smile at one another and start their game playing well into the night.
