Chapter 10


When Stacey and Susie got to Jen’s room, they walked in as Susie says, “What do you mean IF you go back?”

Stacey stood there waiting for an answer with her arms crossed over her chest.

Jen turns from her wardrobe looking at them as she says, “Omi asked me to stay after the mission.”

Jen was smiling from ear to ear, Stacey started to chuckle as she says, “I thought that may have been what was going on.”

“So why is that so funny Stac?” Jen asks.

“Because Ken and Yohji asked me and Susie the same thing, and so did Aya to Chris.” Stacey told her. Jen started to get all bouncy and excited as she grabs Stacey and Susie’s arms pulling them to her bed.

Jen plops down on it pulling them down with her as she asks, “So what are you guys going to do?”

“Wait until Christine gets back.” Susie says.

Jen smiles as she replies, “That’s what I told Omi. I want to see what CC is going to do. If she stays I told Omi I would stay, but that was the only way I would stay here.”

“So Omi did not say anything about going to the states with you?” Susie asks.

Jen shakes her head saying, “No just about me staying and why I would not.”

Stacey and Susie look at one another as Stacey says,“He may not want to go to the states then.”

“What are you talking about Stac? Did Yohji and Ken say something about them going home with us?” Jen asks her.

“Well in the last couple of days there has been talk of staying and going and we all have decided to wait until Chris gets back so we all can sit and talk about this.” Stacey tells her.

Jen bounces where she sat as she says, “That would be cool if they would come home with us. I think I would like that a lot better.”

Susie stands chuckling putting her hand on top of Jen’s head rubbing it she says, “We all would…” Susie turns walking from the room back to her work.

Stacey gets up from the bed looking at Jen as she tells her, “Bring it up to Omi today while you guys are out and see what he has to say about it.”

“Should I tell him about you guys as well?” Jen asks.

“I would see where his heart really stands first. Bring it up to him with just him going and see what he says. If he is willing to leave here for you like you were willing to leave home for him, then his feelings are true for you, but if he is not then it might be best to let him stay here.” Stacey says.

“But if Yohji and Ken are going to the states with you guys and CC and Aya stay here…” Stacey cut Jen off as she tells her.

“Right now the only thing we know about Chris and Aya is that Aya said he would follow Chris to the states if that is what she wanted.”

“So no one knows what they are doing yet?” Jen asks.

Stacey shakes her head as she turns walking away, she says, “That is why we are going to wait and all of us have a seat and talk about what is going on. We all want to stay together and so far, three of the four guys are willing to go to the states with us. Now if Omi says he does not want to go I do not know what will happen. So just talk to him and see what he has to say, but remember to not tell him about the others wanting to go unless he says something about it or he says he will go for you.”

Stacey places her hand on the doorframe of Jen’s room turning and looking at her. “I think he will go for you.” Stacey walks from the room so Jen can get ready for Omi’s arrival.


As the day ticked on Stacey and Susie were sitting in the living room watching some TV and munching on some popcorn. When the movie ended, Susie got up to change it to a new one. Just then, a knock came at the front door.

Susie turns looking at Stacey as she says, “Were we expecting company?”

Stacey gets up walking to the door, as she says, “Not until later tonight.” Stacey opens the door seeing Aya standing on the other side.

“Aya?! What are you doing here?” Stacey asks him as she invites him in.

“I wanted to know what Chris had to say when she called you. So I thought I would come over instead of calling just incase you still might be on the phone with her.” Aya says walking in the house.

Stacey looks at the clock exclaiming, “WOW where did the time go. I cannot believe it is that time already.”

Aya turns looking at Stacey a little disappointed as he says, “I guess she has not called yet?”

“No not yet, but we still have 30 minutes before we need to panic and not only that, I am almost certain Chris has not talked to Sebastian yet. This is only her first day back she will approach this vigilantly. She does not want a hit put out on us; she likes life too much to want to die.” Stacey says chuckling.

“She is in the wrong line of work then if she likes to live.” Aya says.

“So far so good…” Susie says knocking on the wood table in front of her.

Aya chuckles as he asks, “Well… You do not mind if I hang out with you guys until after the call do you?”

“No not at all Aya. Your always welcome here you should know that by now.” Susie says.

“Of course you can Aya,” Stacey says walking toward the kitchen with her glass she turns looking at Aya just before she walks in the kitchen door, “Would you like a glass of ice tea?”

“That would be great Stacey, Thank you.” Aya says Stacey disappears into the kitchen.

The whole time Aya was there with them he kept looking at the clock every 5 minutes Susie reaches over and touches his leg when he looked at the clock for the last time as she says, “She will call Aya do not worry she is fine.”

Aya looks at Susie with an uneasy smile, as he says, “I hope so…”

Stacey starts to chuckle as she says, “I see you are not use to something like this?” Aya shakes his head with the same uneasy smile still on his face.

“Its cool we understand. This is something we got use to really quick with Christine she was always running off to talk to someone that could get us into trouble.” Susie tells him chuckling.

“Why does she do this?” Aya asks.

“For information or to get more help if she knows we are over our heads in a mission. Aya you would not believe how many missions Schwartz as helped us out in.” Stacey replies.

“Schwartz has helped you guys out in the past… and this was before they turned?!” Aya questioned.

“Well yeah Brad looks out for Christine and if she needs his help he is there no matter what and so are the others pretty much and little Nagi… you better look out for him. He looks at Christine like his own sister, if anyone and I mean anyone tries to hurt her in anyway he will not hastate to kill them.” Susie tells Aya.

“I would have thought Fararello would be that way instead of Nagi.” Aya says.

“Well they all are pretty protective of all of us, but more so over Chris, since they have known her the longest, but yeah Nagi will not hastate to kill someone that messes with her even one of us. She is all that boy has known since he lost his parents and he was very young back then.” Stacey tells Aya.

“Wow so Nagi would even take one of his own over Chris?” Aya replies. Stacey and Susie nod as the phone rings.

Stacey gets up walking over to it she picks it up saying, “Hello…”

“Hey Stac what’s up?” Christine asks her.

“You would not believe it if I told you, but it is nothing pressing so we can talk about that when you get back like we planed. What’s going on back home?” Stacey asks her.

Christine starts to laugh as she replies, “You’re not going to believe this, even if I had it recorded. You would not believe it.”

“What’s going on?” Stacey says with a touch of concern in her tone. Stacey walks back over with the others as she takes a seat in her chair again. Aya and Susie look at Stacey with worry written in their eyes.

“Well where do you want me to start?” Christine asks.

“From the top usually works Chris.” Stacey says.

Christine chuckles some more as she says, “Alright then…”

“At 3 this morning Scotty called me woke me from a dead sleep and this is what he proceeded to tell me. He was wondering why I came home. Me of all people came home. If it would have been Thumper or Scorpio, he could have understood it better, but me to leave in the middle of an assignment. Something must be really bothering me. He asks me if Weiss got to me that bad.”

Stacey’s eyes widen as she replied, “You’re joking right?”

“Oh there is more just wait till you hear it.” Christine says. “I told him Weiss had nothing to do with this and he then said, well after all we have been spending a lot of time with them since we arrived in Japan and we all have met. I told him you think you are so cleaver. How long did it take you to figure that one out? He told me, not long after I pulled Schwartz into my little plans.” Christine told Stacey.

Stacey dropped her head down into her hand. “So he now knows about everything?” Stacey said in a worried tone.

The look on Aya and Susie’s face went blank as Stacey heard Christine say, “I laughed at him and told him, I did not know who is feeding him all this BS, but if I was him I would fire them and quick, because they do not know what they are talking about. He then proceeded to tell me, he knows I have something up my sleeve, it is over Sacred Hearts, and he will tell me now. If I can get this to work and bring Sacred Hearts down, he will back what ever we are doing with Weiss a 100%, but if it fails he will send Terminal after us and Sebastian will know nothing of it and if I tell one person of this conversation he will deny every word of it.”

“So he knows that we are going after Sacred Hearts as well?!” Stacey asks.

“Calm down Stacey it is not that bad.” Christine tells her.

“Yeah ok what ever you say.” Stacey says with a touch of sarcasm. “What else was said?”

“After all that I then told him we needed a pilot. He said, so you come to get Bastian, I told him yes… he said he would turn a blind eye when Sebastian followed me to Japan, but he warned me again, who ever I pull into this little plan of ours… If it fails, they too will be hunted just as Dragonfly, Weiss, and Schwartz.”

“Chris do you think this is a good idea now that Scotty knows and will he really keep his word?” Stacey asks her.

“Stacey Scotty is an Asshole, but when it comes to his word he will do what he says you know that.” Christine tells her.

“I know that Chris, but that is not the part that worries me; do you really want to be hunted by Terminal?” Stacey asks her.

“Stacey you forget who we are, just like I told Scotty he had nothing to worry about The Best Never Fail.” Christine tells her. “He then told me he will see me after Sacred Hearts is brought to an end.”

“Well I am still in either way if Scotty will keep his word or not, but after this news the others might have second thoughts in sticking around.” Stacey tells Christine.

“Scotty will keep his word to us and remember it is just not us we have 8 others that are the best at what they do that are going along with us and the top Terminal guy as well. I know I will be happy to have him along in this mission. This is going to be a no Fail mission Stacey. We are The Best and THE BEST NEVER FAIL.”

“So have you talked to Sebastian yet?” Stacey asks.

“No I have not, but he is coming over for dinner tonight. Scotty has made this so simple for me all I have to do is ask him. I will not have to beat around the bush and hang out here until Wednesday. So I can be home in the next day or two.” Christine says.

“That’s true, so you will be coming home sooner, that is great, but are you sure Sebastian is going to join us in the fight?” Stacey asks.

“Yeah I am sure he will he wants Sacred Hearts out of the way as bad as we do. If you want to tell the others about what I told you go for it, but do not leave anything out.” Christine tells her.

Stacey looks up at Aya and Susie as she says, “I think I will let you do that. I will tell the two sitting here that are in fear for their lives right now, but you can tell the others.” Stacey chuckles.

“The two… You mean Jen and Susie?” Christine asks.

“No Susie and Aya…” Stacey replies.

“Ran is there… Let me talk to him.” Christine says slightly excited.

Stacey removes the phone from he ear and hands it to Aya, as she says, “She wants to talk to you.”

“Hello… Chris…” Aya says.

“Ran it is so good to hear your voice, I have missed you.” Christine tells him.

“I have missed you to. What is going on?” Aya asks her.

“Stacey will fill you in on that and do not worry it is not as bad as she made it sound.” Christine tells him.

“Well that is good because she really has me worried.” Aya says.

“Everything will be fine Ran and I will be home in the next day or two, because of this.” Christine replies.

“That’s great I cannot wait.” Aya says sounding worried.

“Ran stop worrying Stacey has got some news I think you will like… as a matter of fact I know you will like it and if you want to tell the guys what she tells you, you can I have no problem with that.” Christine tells him.

“Well that is good, some good news with the bad that always helps, but as far as telling the others I think I will wait and hear what she has to say first I may wait until you get back and you can tell them.” Aya says.

Christine chuckles, “I understand Ran it does not matter to me.” Christine tells him.

“That’s good…” Aya says chuckling a little uneasy.

“Well I need to get off here Sebastian is coming over for dinner tonight so we can talk and I have no food in my house so to speak of, so I need to go the store for food before it gets any later here.” Christine tells Aya.

“All right then. I will see you in a day or two. I love you and be careful.” Aya says.

“I love you to Ran and you do the same.” Christine replies.


Aya hands the phone back to Stacey as he asks, “What did she tell you Stacey?”

“Yeah what did she tell you that freaked you out so much?” Susie asks.

Stacey looks at them as she says, “I will tell you the same thing she told me… Your not going to believe it if I had recorded it. You’re not going to believe it.”

Stacey proceeded to tell Aya and Susie what Christine had told her.

Susie sat there after Stacey had finished, she falls back into the couch crossing her arms as she exclaims, “You mean to tell me that little sawed off SOB knew everything and has known everything that has been going on this whole time? I wonder how much more he knows about us.”

Stacey shrugs her shoulders as she says, “Not sure Sus, but I am sure since he knows this he knows everything Dragonfly has done and everyone we know.”

“Then if that is so why are you girls still around?” Aya asks.

“Because the little short shit needs us and he knows it. We are the best thing that has happened to ESAT. There is not one other Assassin team that can top us not even his precious Terminal team can top us. Sebastian is the only one that is better then we are and the rest of them are a joke.” Susie says.

“That is why Sebastian is trying so hard to get Chris on Terminal, he knows if she will join him we will follow.” Stacey says.

“But Jen is too young for Terminal.” Susie says, “She has to be in her twenties to be on the Terminal team.”

“I know that and so does Chris, why do you think she never join Sebastian.” Stacey replies.

“So the Killer of Killers is a 5 man team.” Aya asks.

“It is as big or as small as the leader deems it to be. Although it cannot exceed 8 people total.” Stacey says.

“Why so big?” Aya asks.

“Well the Terminal team we have…” Stacey pauses as she looks at Susie.

Susie’s eyes widen as she says, “If we tell you it can go no farther then this room. Sebastian was not even supposed to tell us.”

Aya nods as Stacey says, “Well we are Assassin’s… Terminal is not only used to kill the Assassin’s that get out of line, but they are used to dispose of the politician that do not want to work within the laws of our country or if they get to big for their britches.”

“So you guys also kill your leaders.” Aya says.

“Well yeah how else are we supposed to keep things running smoothly… I mean GEES… some of the people that are put into office… I think the people that vote them in need their heads examined.” Susie says.

Aya and Stacey laugh as Aya says, “I fully understand Susie, there are a few here I would like to do away with.”

They sat there and talked a while longer talking about their new found information.


As the hours ticked away, Stacey finally looks up at the clock as she quickly gets to her feet exclaiming, “Oh great Yohji is going to be here to get me in a little while and I am not even ready.”

Susie chuckles as she says, “See you should have just invited him over to the house for the night. Then you would not have to worry about getting all fancied up for tonight.”

“Why so we can hang out with the two horn dogs. No thanks we will pass… Anyway Yohji wanted to take me out to dinner tonight.” Stacey says heading to her room.

Aya looks toward Stacey confused as he asks, “The two horn dogs and who are they Stacey?”

Stacey was heading down the hall as her words trailed behind her she said, “Ken and Susie…”

Aya looks at Susie as she smiled she says, “What can I say we really like one another.”

Aya shakes his head as he says, “I cannot believe how the guys have changed and you girls are the ones that have changed them. Ken is a horn dog now…” Aya pauses as he laughs, “Yohji yeah I can see that, but Ken… and Yohji is acting like a total gentlemen WOW! What Stacey did to him is beyond me, but I do have to say I like the change, and Omi is… well… That boy has always had a level head and now since Jen came around… if he remembered his name right now I would be amazed.”

“Well Aya my daddy always told me all it takes is the right woman to get a man to change.” Susie tells him.

“Well from what I have seen in the last month that has to be a true statement.” Aya says.

“Well of course it is true, because from what Ken has told me about you Christine must have really changed you, because you use to be really cold and never let anyone get close to you, a real hard ass from what I heard. Ken said you use to say, ‘I do not deserve to be loved’…” Susie says in a gruff tone like a man, “and that is BS sure we are assassins, but we still need and want to be loved, just like everyone else in the world we are no different we still need that special someone in our lives.” Susie says.

Aya nods saying, “Christine has taught me a lot in the last month.”

“I do have to say I am shocked that you and Christine get along so great you’re both a lot a like in some ways I was afraid you two were really going to clash with one another. However, I have seen you two complement one another as a couple and you look cute together. I do have to say I have seen a change in Christine as well and as you said about Yohji, I like what I see.” Susie says smiling.

“She completes me, before I met Chris I never felt like a whole person and now…” Aya pauses as he looks at Susie, “She is the best thing that has ever happened to me.”

“You say that so sweet Aya and I hope for the best for you and Christine. I know you two can do it as long as ESAT and Kritiker stay out of it.” Susie says.

“Do you think Scotty will keep his word like he says?” Aya asks Susie.

Susie shakes her head with a touch of uncertainty as she says, “I do not know… Christine and Stacey know him best and Stacey still not all that well, but better then Jen and I. Scotty is an Asshole to no end, but I can say he has never in the time I have known him gone back on his word to us.” Susie tells him.

“That is good to know.” Aya pauses, “You know I will be so glad when this is all behind us and we can all move on with our lives.”

Susie nods as she watches Aya stand stretching he turns looking at her as he says, “Well I guess I am going to get out of here since Ken will be here soon. I know you two horn dogs are going to want to be alone.”

Susie lets out a, “HAHA Aya.”

Aya starts to walk away to the front door as he says, “Hey you are the one that did not deny it when it was said.”

“I can probably say safely that you and Christine are no better when you two are together.” Susie replies.

“Well Susie I am sorry to say I am not the kind of guy that kisses and tells, but if you must know in all reality I would not know what Chris is like, because I have not had the chance to be with her yet.” Aya tells her.

Susie picks up a pillow from the couch as she throws it at Aya, Susie laughs as she says, “Liar… Liar pants on fire.”

Aya dodges the pillow laughing as he picks it up and tossing it back to her as a huge smile comes across his face he says, “Later Susie... Have fun.”

“Later Aya... and we will.” Susie says as she watches the door close behind Aya.

Susie falls back lying on the couch looking at the ceiling as she holds the pillow to her chest; Susie thinks to herself, “I hope Scotty does not go back on his word to Christine, because if he does I am afraid of what she might do. Scotty does not know the half of what Dragonfly is capable of doing and Christine will show no mercy to him or anyone he sends after us all.” Susie laid there still thinking as she hears.

“What do you think?”

Susie bends her head back looking back at Stacey as Susie was looking at Stacey upside down. Stacey is standing there in a strapless short blue dress. Susie rolls off the couch onto the floor and onto her hands and knees as Susie says, “Wow Stacey you look GREAT! Yohji is going to love it.”

“Thanks Susie… I hope he does.” Stacey says walking over to her chair and taking a seat.

Stacey starts putting on her shoes as she says, “You know I was thinking about Scotty and him keeping his word to Chris. Do you think he will?”

“I was thinking about the same thing when you walked in.” Susie says climbing back up on the couch, “You know if he renigs on this what will happen don’t you?”

“Yeah and there will be no saving him Chris will take him apart and kill anyone that gets in her way.” Stacey replies.

“I know… it has me worried and not for Scotty either.” Susie says shaking her head. Stacey starts to chuckle as she stands looking at Susie.

“You look great Stacey. Now if we could just get Christine to start dressing like that we would have it made.” Susie says.

“She use to dress like this a long time back. She still has all her dresses in the back of her closet.” Stacey says.

“NO WAY!! What happen?” Susie asks.

“I am not sure one day she just stopped, maybe with Aya in her life now she might start again.” Stacey says.

“Maybe, but you never know with Christine.” Susie says.

“That is for sure.” Stacey says chuckling.

Just then, a knock came at the door as Susie says in a playful way, “Your man is here.”

Stacey starts to straighten her dress as Susie says, “You look great he is going to love it… Go get the door.”

“We will soon see.” Stacey says walking to the door to answer it.
