“Hunter or The Hunted”
Chapter 6


Aya moves his hands up Christine’s arms and then to her shoulders he starts to rub her shoulders and neck as he says, “You are so tight Christine I know what we do is stressful, but you have to find away to relax.”

Aya rubs harder going for a deep rub on her shoulders. Christine started to relax and enjoy Aya rubbing her shoulders as Aya hit a knot on one of her muscles Christine started to lower herself from Aya’s touch as she exclaims, “OU…OU…OU…OU, Stop Ran that hurts.”

Aya keeps rubbing as he chuckles saying, “That knot needs to be worked out Christine, stand still.”

Christine turns quickly to get him to let go of her as she turns she finds herself face to face with Aya, their eyes lock on one another Aya touches her shoulders and moves his hands down her arms smiling at her as he says softly, “Big baby.”

“You know maybe later you can give her a whole body massages Aya.” Schuldich says walking into the kitchen. “But I would not let Brad find out you might find you will have your hands full.”

The look in Aya’s eyes changed from a soft look to a cold glare as he turns around. Christine grabs his arm stopping him from walking toward Schuldich as she says, “Stop it you have to learn to get along if we are going to be working together. I cannot be worrying about you 8 wanting to take one another’s heads off in a mission we are all on.” Christine looks at Schuldich and then back at Aya.

“I was only giving the boy a few ideas for later when he is alone with you.” Schuldich says smiling.

“You were being a smartass.” Aya says in a hateful tone.

Schuldich shrugs his shoulders as he walks toward them saying, “Maybe… and maybe not, after all Chris has not had a guys hands on her like that in over… Oh gees Chris when did you stop seeing Bastian?”

Christine gives Schuldich a dirty look as she says, “How did you know about Sebastian?” Schuldich cocks his head and gives Christine a wide-eyed look.

“I cannot believe you asked me that Chris.”

Christine gives Schuldich a worried look as Schuldich says, “Oh do not worry sweetie Brad does not know and will never find out…” Schuldich picks up a carrot stick from the table he looks back at Christine, “Unless you or Bastian tell him.”

Schuldich turns and walks from the kitchen as Aya and Christine watch him walk out Schuldich turns quickly as he says, “Do not worry I will not tell Brad how you and Aya feel for one another either.”

Aya becomes angered as he starts to walk toward Schuldich. Christine grabs Aya’s arms as she says, “Let it go Ran. He is only trying to piss you off. Schuldich is good at that he loves to play mind games.”

Aya turns looking at Christine as he says, “I do not know if I can do this Christine.”

“Yes you can Ran.” Christine says taking his hand in hers she squeezes it lightly and smiles, “Schuldich is the only one that can read minds all you have to remember when he is around is to clear your mind of everything.”

Aya hangs his head shaking it as he says, “And what about Nagi?”

“Nagi cannot read minds he is a telekinesis, not a telepath.” Christine tells him.

“And Brad and Fararello?” Aya asks.

“Brad can see glimpses of the future and Faf he is… well he is…”

“Crazy… Demented.” Aya says cutting her off.

Christine turns walking away from Aya upset at his choice of words Aya walks up behind her placing his hand on her shoulder as he says,“I am sorry Christine I just call it as I see it, and I know these guys mean a lot to you as friends, but Weiss has seen them only one way.”

“I know they are far from angel’s Ran, but they have good hearts.” Christine turns looking at Aya. “I promise you once you get to know them you will see that and they will have your back when push comes to shove.”

Aya smiles as he says, “I do not know why Christine, but I believe you… for some odd unforeseen reason… I believe you.” Christine smiles at Aya.


Just then, Omi comes charging in the kitchen; he says in a frantic tone, “We got trouble…” Christine and Aya look at him as Aya says, “What’s wrong Omi?”

“It is Schwartz, Yohji, and Ken.”

Christine, Aya, and Omi run out the back kitchen door as Christine hears them in the dojo she heads for the dojo Aya and Omi behind her. They step inside as they saw Ken and Yohji on one side of the mat and Brad, Schuldich, Fararello and Nagi on the other Nagi had Christine’s training blades floating around him pointed right at Ken and Yohji.

“STOP IT NAGI!!” Christine yells at him, “Brad… Schuldich… Fararello back down now!!” Christine exclaims.

“They need to be taught a lesson Christine.” Brad says.

“And I guess you think you can do it.” Ken growls at them.

Christine saw Yohji pull his wire as she says in a highly enraged tone, “If one person makes one move toward anyone in this dojo I promise that you will deal with me.” Christine pulls a katana from the wall as she pulls it from the sheath dropping the sheath to her waist and raising the katana above her head in a fighting stance. Christine’s eyes narrowed at them and went from a warm glow to a cold as ice glare.

“You guys pissed her off if you do not want to get hurt I suggest you stop this bull shit.” Stacey says.

“Stop it Ken… Yohji put away your weapon.” Aya says. Yohji and Ken look at Aya with bewildered looks on their face.

Ken was getting ready to say something as Aya cut him off saying, “We are all part of a team now fighting for the same thing; it is time to let bygones be bygones.”

“That’s right it is time to forgive and forget.” Omi says.

“I can never forget what they have done.” Ken says.

“Then make your move Ken and when you do I will cut you down.” Christine tells him. Ken growls as he charges toward Schwartz. Before Ken knew it he was on the floor with Christine over him her foot in his chest and the point of the katana at his throat.

“Want to push your luck farther Ken.” Yohji went for them next as Christine spun hitting Yohji in the chest with the broad side of the sheath knocking him to the floor as well she spun back so quick Ken did not have a chance to move as he found the katana back at his throat.

Christine glared down at Yohji and Ken as she says, “I know that no one in the Schwartz group is one of your favorite people right now, but in time you will learn just as they will. That we are all good people here, no matter our past and what we have done… None of us in this room is any better then the other. WE ARE ALL KILLERS!!”

Christine moves away from Ken and Yohji as she re-sheaths the katana and hangs it back on the wall walking from the dojo leaving everyone there in silence.


Christine goes to her room as she sits on her bed falling back on to it she stares at the fan turning above her.

“What am I doing… Is this going to work or are they going to kill one another before we even get out on a mission together. I know with the 12 of us we can finally bring Sacred Hearts down but it is going to take all of us… How am I going to get them to see this before it is too late?” Christine says thinking aloud she laid there lost in the turning of the fan as she thought of the mess she has gotten them into, and what she was going to do if Weiss and Schwartz could not finally start getting along as a team.

About 45 minutes later a knock came to her bedroom door Christine so lost in her thoughts did not hear the knock, it came again and then again when finally the person walked into her room.

Christine still laid there not paying them any mind as Jen walks up to her and touches Christine’s leg saying in a soft tone, “CC…” Christine finally comes back to the real world as she looks over at Jen seeing Stacey and Susie standing there as well.

Christine pushes herself up on the bed setting on the edge of it she asks, “What do you all want?”

“Weiss and Schwartz want to talk to you.” Susie tells her.

“What do they want?” Christine asks.

“We do not know… After you walked out, they started yelling and arguing at each other, we left them there.” Stacey says.

“Yeah we thought if they wanted to kill each other that bad then they could go for it. We would just clean up the mess after they were done.” Jen says.

Christine chuckles saying, “Well I guess they are still alive since you told me they want to talk to me.”

The girls nod as Christine stands she says, “I guess they are going to tell me this is not going to work between them.”

“We do not know Chris you are as in the dark as we are. All I know is they stood in the dojo yelling for about 45 minutes the last 15 we were sure they were all dead it got really quiet and then they walked in the house and told us to come get you they wanted to talk to you.” Stacey tells her.

Christine shakes her head as she walks toward the door she opens it as she says, “Let’s get this over with… if I have to fine two more teams to take their place I have to get this over with now. I do not have time to play games any longer with them.”

The girls follow Christine out to the living room where Weiss and Schwartz were waiting for Christine to show. When Christine gets to the living room, she looked around the room at the guys as the rest of Dragonflies walked around her going and taking seats.

She set her hands on her hips as she says, “What did you want?”

Aya and Brad walk toward her as they looked at one another they both stopped right in front of her as Brad says, “We are sorry Christine.”

“Yes we are acting like a bunch of children that are not getting their way.” Aya says.

Christine nods as Brad says, “We are forgetting why we are all here and the main reason for this mission and…”

Aya cut Brad off as he says, “You wanted Schwartz and Weiss for a very clear reasons… and we… Weiss and Schwartz,” Aya says looking at the guys in the room.

“We have decided to set our differences aside and help you bring Sacred Hearts down once and for all.” Brad says.

“They are the true enemy here and we had lost sight of that because of the past Schwartz and Weiss share.” Schuldich says. Christine looks over at Schuldich as she hears.

“We need to stop Sacred Hearts before more innocents die.” Omi says.

“I am sorry Christine.” Ken says.

“Yeah sorry.” Yohji replies.

Christine looks at Fararello and Nagi as Nagi says, “Sorry sis I did not mean for that to happen earlier.”

Christine nods looking at Fararello knowing that there was no way he was going to apologize for anything, Christine smiles at Fararello as she hears him says, “I will only apologize to you for this because this is your home and what we did was wrong.”

Christine’s smile grew as she says, “I can live with that Faf.”

Christine looks around the room at everyone, “I do not know about the rest of you, but I am starved and I want food. So what do you say we all get food come in here take a seat around the living room and I start filling you in on Sacred Hearts and what we are in for in the next couple of months?” Everyone nods as they make their way to the kitchen to get food and then back into the living room.


After a few minutes and everyone, getting settled in and eating Aya asks, “Christine tell me why you have not been able to bring Sacred Hearts down? I know you have been on mission after mission to get them and all of them were successful. So what is the problem why are you having such a hard time at this?”

Christine looks at Aya as she says, “Sacred Heart so far is one on the largest organization that we have gone after. They have three main guys and one woman running them and they are never all together at the same time and they have been able to keep their wear bouts hidden to us…” Christine smiles as she looks at Nagi, “Until now…”

Aya and the rest of Weiss look over at Nagi as Ken asks, “So what were you able to fine that ESAT could not?”

“Everything they were able to hide from the people that were looking for them I got my hands on.” Nagi tells them.

“Yeah and how were you able to do that?” Yohji asks.

“Let's just say our reputation succeeds us..” Nagi says with a smile.

“So you are saying because you are Schwartz this organization Sacred Hearts came looking for you?” Omi asks.

Nagi nods as he says, “They wanted Schwartz to help them out in their compound.”

“Compound?” Yohji exclaims.

Christine nods as she says, “I will tell you all about Sacred Hearts so as we go along when we tell you something you will know what we are talking about.”

Christine looks at everyone in Weiss as she says, “Sacred Hearts is an organization that cons people into believing they are an elite group of followers of God having followers and believers of God join their organization. When in reality they are joining a cult. Sacred Hearts then gets the people that are following them to give them their entire worldly possession, Jewelry, Stocks, and Bonds, their bank accounts, their cars, their homes. The only thing these people have when they finally join Sacred Hearts is the clothing on their backs. They then place the followers behind tall fences and 24 hour guards giving the followers a since of safety from the evil of our world. Once they have done this they train them in the field of survival making them think the training is for the end of days when God will come and take the earth back.”

“Like Armageddon?” Omi asks.

Christine nods continuing, “They brain wash these people and make them believe the outside world is evil and will do them harm so they will not try to leave or contact anyone out side of the compound. I am sure some of them know what is going on and have tried to get away from them.”

“So what besides them taking everything these people own make them so awful Christine?” Yohji asks her.

“Sacred Hearts sends their followers out to be hunted by rich men and women that are looking to entertain their dull and drab lives.” Christine tells Weiss.

The room fell silent as Brad says, “They have a reserve they use. They tell the people that they need them to volunteer to be missionaries to go out and spread the word of God and tell them they need so many of them to step up and go help the less fortunate in finding God.”

Schuldich then chimes in saying, “Men, woman, and children alike are then taken to this reserve and dropped off. They then tell them that the place they need to go they have to walk to, because neither chopper nor jeep will make it to the village. The people of course believe them and head out to find these poor lost souls.”

“As they head to the nonexistent village Sacred Hearts then brings in around 8 hunters. That have paid a handsome price to hunt these people and they hunt the missionary group until every one of them are dead.” Nagi tells them.

“EVEN THE KIDS?!” Omi yells.

“The youngest child involved that was killed, we found out was 4.” Susie says.

“FOUR YEARS OLD THEY HUNTED AND KILLED A FOUR YEAR OLD CHILD?!” Ken yells.

“Yes and more will die if we do not stop them Ken.” Christine tells him.

“When do you want to do this Christine?” Aya asks as they can see the anger building up inside of him.

“With what Nagi has given me they are going to have a new hunt in 2 months. Now from what I have read and found so far the leaders of Sacred Hearts goes on these hunts as well. They have a new hunt every two to three months and the next one is right around the corner.”

“So the four of them will be on this hunt in 2 months? What kind of information do you have on them and where is this reserve at?” Aya asks.

“We do not know where the reserve is located, but we have everything on the leaders and where the compound is located. We have everything on the people that work on the inside of the compound. They have over 50 men and women working inside the compound and they have at least 150 innocents, children included.” Nagi tells him.

“So how are we going to find out where the reserve is located?” Ken asks.

Christine smiles as she looks at Schwartz she says, “Schwartz is going in and joining them.”

“Do you think that is a good idea?” Aya asks.

“Why would it not be Ran, Schwartz is still known to the criminals of Japan as Schwartz and nothing else there is no trail to lead them anywhere, but to themselves.” Christine tells him.

“Kritiker employed us as double agents to play both sides.” Brad says.

“That’s what worries me…” Aya says.

Christine looks at Aya slightly upset as she says, “Schwartz is not going to turn on us Ran. They will be true to Dragonfly and Weiss and bring Sacred Hearts down.”

Aya looks at Schwartz and then back at Christine as he says, “I will trust your word on this.”

“So Schwartz is going in undercover and will feed us information on them until the hunt comes around.” Yohji asks.

“Yes and no Yohji.” Christine says.

“What do you mean yes and no?” Ken exclaims.

“Schwartz is going in yes, but we will not see them until we move on the compound.” Christine tells him.

“And when are we going to move on the compound?” Omi asks.

“As soon as they take the group out to the reserve, we will move on it then.” Christine replies.

“Why then Christine?” Aya asks.

“I do not want anyone knowing what is going on I want this to be a surprise attack.” Christine tells them.

“But what if the reserve is a few hours away by the time we get to it everyone maybe dead and the others gone.” Yohji says.

“I have that covered with the eight of us we can move on the compound shutting it down and then we will have a chopper that will be taking us to the reserve.” Christine says.

“So you will have a ride for us to the reserve?” Aya asks.

Christine nods as she hears Brad reply, “You’re bringing Bastian in on this. Do you think that is wise?” Christine looks at Brad and nods as she hears.

“Who is Bastian and why would it not be wise?” Aya asks.

“Bastian is a guy that is in love with Christine and he is also part of ESAT he is a killer of killers he is part of the Terminal Assassin team.” Schuldich replies.

“Killer of killers?!” Ken exclaims.

“He hunts Assassins that have strayed from ESAT or have become too much for ESAT to handle any longer.” Christine says.

“And he can be trusted?” Aya says.

“All Christine has to do is bat her blue eyes at him and he will be putty in her hands, but I am afraid when he finds out who else is involved he may turn on us.” Brad says.

“Then why him Christine?” Aya asks.

“Because I know I can trust him and I know he will help us on this. Sebastian may not be too happy when he finds Weiss and Schwartz are involved, but I know he wants Sacred Hearts brought down just as bad as the rest of us.” Christine tells him.

“If he does turn on us you know we all will be hunted by Terminal and the Crushers… Both sides will hunt us and try to stop us.” Brad replies.

Christine nods as she replies, “I take the Crushers are the Assassins of Assassins over here in Kritiker?”

Aya nods as he says, “I am friends with one of them.”

“Aya worked with the Crushers for a while when Weiss broke up a while back.” Omi says.

Aya gives a quick glance at Omi as he says, “Yes a long time ago I was a killer of killers.”

“Well then Ran maybe I am missing something here about you.” Christine says, “Because if you are an Assassin that hunts Assassins you should be up there in skill like Sebastian…”

“Meaning?” Yohji asks.

“Ran is hiding his true skills from me.” Christine says looking right into Aya’s eyes.

“They are there when I need them they do not need to be used all the time.” Aya tells her.

“You will have to fight with everything you are and everything you know Ran to defeat Sacred Hearts. They will not submit easily to us I promise you that.” Christine tells him.

“When the time comes I will not let any of them walk away. They all will know the wrath of my blade.” Aya replies. Christine nods in approval to his statement.

As the night, rolls on they sit there and cover the rest of the information on Sacred Hearts covering everything down to the smallest detail about their new enemy.

When they finished Christine and Aya talk about getting Weiss and Dragonfly together to train so they will know how one another fight and what to expect from one another on a mission. Weiss and Schwartz finally leave after helping clean up the mess of the night and the girls finally turn in drained from the day’s activities.
