Biography

At the conclusion of the King of Iron Fist Tournament 3, Heihachi’s team of scientists and biotechnicians collected what little remains of Toshin there were, and began testing the samples immediately. Heihachi was coming to the realization that his life was going to end soon, and was determined to find a way to combine his genes with the Toshin’s in order to create a new life form and somehow fend off Death. Unfortunately for him, the tests came back inconclusive – since he lacked the Devil Gene, the combination would never work.

The only carriers of the Devil Gene were his son Kazuya – whom he killed at the conclusion of the second Iron Fist two decades ago – Kazama Jin – who had vanished after transformation – and Kitsune – the lone female carrier. Without knowledge of Jin’s whereabouts, Heihachi continually tried to persuade Kitsune to undergo the tests, but she adamantly refused, having lost faith and respect in her ojiisan after he told her of her true past.

Infuriated, Heihachi continued to test the remains; one night after another failure, he noticed a headline in a United States newspaper about the revival of an Asian man. Heihachi traveled to the G Corporation laboratories with a hunch that the man was Kazuya, but after the scientists refused him, decided to take a militaristic approach, and ordered his Tekkenshu to invade the offices and search for information. This plan quickly backfired when Kazuya retaliated, cementing Heihachi’s theories.

Knowing that Kazuya still wanted him dead, Heihachi devised a plan to hold the King of Iron Fist 4, in order to lure the carriers of the Devil Gene back to Japan, and put up the Zaibatsu itself as the champion’s prize.
