Biography

While defending his mother from the wrath of Toshin, Jin was knocked unconscious; he awakened to find his cabin in flames and his mother’s broken corpse. With Jun’s final wish for them to find their grandfather Heihachi, Jin and Kitsune—his cousin and closest friend—lived and trained in Tokyo, Japan. Jin became deeply depressed when Kitsune moved to Korea, and threw himself into his studies; it was around this time that Heihachi began sensing the same dark aura that had possessed his own son, Kazuya.

Jin met up with Hwoarang when he and Heihachi visited Korea after hearing about the death of Kitsune’s sensei, and battled the young man to a draw; he took an immediate dislike to the ‘punk,’ as Jin called him. The devilish aura grows stronger within him as the Iron Fist commences, even causing him to strike out at Kitsune, and Heihachi watches the cousins with a wary eye, knowing the power they both possess.

Kazama Jin as the world knew him before was dead. In his place was a somber, angry young man who hated himself, and hated what he had become. His own grandfather had shot him dead; when he had been revived by the Devil within himself, Jin tried to rape his own cousin, coming close to murdering both her and Hwoarang on the night of the Devil’s Moon. He has worked hard to unlearn the Mishima Style fighting that Heihachi had taught him, picking up on traditional karate instead while improving on his Kazama-Ryu that Jun had taught him and Kitsune before her death.

The dreams still haunt him though, and so does Devil. Unaware of his true relation to Kitsune, and blinded by regret and rage, Jin enters the fourth Iron Fist after finding out that his father has been brought back to life. Believing that he can finally lay his guilt to rest by reuniting with Kitsune, not to mention the belief that the Devil’s hold over him might be broken by Kazuya’s death, the young man trains in a small Australian dojo, waiting for the perfect time.
