Get-Together at Jim and Carolyn Youngs
Sept. 21, 2002
I really have to thank the Youngs for hoasting one of our best get-togethers yet.  We had about 20 people in attendance with 10 replicas/kit cars parked throughout their driveway.  Through the afternoon, cars kept coming in and gathering crowds to discuss the new arrival.  In these pictures, you should be able to pick out:
Jim's '34 Highboy, his Chevy-powered Cobra replica, and inside the garage was his Jovi Lebaron.
- Carolyn Youngs Rodster.
- Bill Lynches '56 T-Bird replica.
- Jeff Prices Porsche Speedster
- My (Chris Guenther) Fiberfab Aztec 7
- Al Bockmans (Silver & Black) Cobra
- Norm Joseph's Lamborghini
- Rocco Chiaro's Fiberfab Avenger.
We had a great time checking out each other's cars. Some cars we've seen before, but we always enjoy seeing them again.  I never got a good look at Jeff Prices Speedster at VW's On the Green, so I was really glad I had some time to get a close look at it.  Nice job Jeff!
Most of us hear of old kit cars that are in some form of restoration, but when was the last time you've seen a 34 year old kit that's been in the completed stage for that many years!  Rocco (Rocky) Chiaro pulled up in his purple Avenger, and even though I've seen pictures of his car, I still didn't recognize it!  He's the original owner, and tells us he used it for a daily driver for most of those years.
I'm also glad I got to see Norm Josephs Fiero based Countach replica again, and the paint job on Carolyn's Rodster was still amazing to see in the fall sun.

Later in the afternoon, Jim and carolyn served up burgers and dogs on their patio and we were treated to the wonderful view from their home.  Rocco kept us entertained and frustrated with his brass logic puzzeles he builds and sells.  We were also entertained with stories from Telfon Kouremenos about his Lamborghini replica he's building. I can't wait to see his car!
For those interested in classic cars from Detroit, Al Wolin brought his '72 Olds Cutlass convertable, and Gary Reese brought his '71 Roadrunner:
