Easy Baked Alaska

1 pint ice cream
3 egg whites
1/8 cup sugar
6 hard cookies

Directions:

Lay cookies 2-3 inches apart on a tray.
Place one scoop of icecream on each cookie.
Put the tray in freezer until ice cream is very firm. (do this first thing in the morning and it will be ready by afternoon)
When ice cream is firm, pre heat your oven to 450 F.
Prepare the meringue by beating the egg whites wuntil they peak.
Gradually add sugar while continuing to beat egg whites.
Remove the ice cream cookies from freezer.
Place them on an ungreased oookie sheet. and cover them with a thick layer of meringue.
Be sure to over the ice cream and cookie compleatly, forming a seal with the cookie sheet.
Bake the ice ream in the oven for 2 to 3 minutes, just until the meringue turns light brown.
Serve immediately.
