Hello to all you Boondockers out there in this beautiful land we call the U.S.A.
I have made a few changes on this page for Trip 2008, with the help of my daughter,Terry.
We have taken so many lovley photos on our "Adventures" over the years that I thought this is a way to show them off. Also I will keep putting info in every so often telling you about what Cwit has gotten me into. He sure has showed me plenty over the years.
The weather here in the desert has been in the 80's. Windy at times but Oh! how nice it is to set around in those things called shorts. Plus have a nice cool drink in one hand and somthing else in the other.
The Harris antelope ground squirrels are out and around , a few doves in the morning and evening, and lots of birds to view , plus the Humming birds just now and then. Enjoy them all.
The Drags are back on. Whopee!!! Love to watch them. They just had a run in Phoenix yesterday. Of course my favorite is Tony Schumacher. He runs a top fuel dragster. Dixion happen to win in that division.
NHRA has some 80,000 members and more than 35,000 licensed competitors. NHRA has be came the largest promoter of professional drag racing in the world. They offers drag racing opportunities for hot rod enthusiasts of all levels.
Some of the other "Escapees" are at the site off Ogelby Rd. near Yuma. Bob Brewer and Dick Marek were by the other day to ride their "off road bikers" with Cwit. Bob and Dick are Escapees also.
Will I must call an ending to this posting as Cwit is getting our lunch ready.
Hope you all enjoy life as much as I do out in this desert. "Kitfoxgal"
Our Trip To Mexico In 2008
We started our adventure into Mexico on this bright and sunning day.
Spent a night near Ajo,Az., off of Darby Wells. Rd.
We went by the Oregon Pipe Cactus National Monument near Why, Az. on highway 85.
Then we went across the border at Lukeville,AZ., into Mexico on Highway 2. Got all our permits at the border. The motorhome permit is good for 10 years even if we sale it. Which we are as soon as we get back to the Sacramento area.
Took Rod's advise and stayed at a RV Patk in Santa Ana,Mexico. Edgar, the manger-owner, and Anna, his wife were exalt hostes. Edgar told us of a boondocking site in San Carlos, Mexico.
Kino Bay here we come.
You have to pass throw the town Hermosillo. There is evan a WalMart Store there. Hermosillo is the capital of the state of Sonora.
Made it to the RV Park in Kino Bay, Mexico. Its name is Kunkak RV Park. The best part its near the ocean. The site has everything a boondocker needs. They have a Cabanna with patio and coverin at all sites, a shed for storing supplies, a dump, water, power, showers, and garbage cans. Also you are not close to the next camper site because of the way it was laid out. They did a neat job of laying it out.
Kino Bay consists of Kino Viejo and Kino Nuevo. The older part of town is where the bulk of the Mexicans live and the fishing boat launch. New Kino Bay has public beach access. At the end of the Mar de Cortez Road that parallels the beach is a big planned housing development going in and plans for a new marina. It is coming up in this world as a good vacation site.
Next stop San Carols, Mexico. Edgar did tell us of a very good boondocking site there. It is back of some cond's called Plier just off the Highway 2, going into San Carlos. We enjoyed the ocean, the lagon, that was right behind us. There was plenty of sea birds in the area to view. Of course we enjoyed watching the grounds keepers play Soccer at their lunch time.
San Carlos is a beachfront subdivision within the port city of Guaymas. It lies on the body of water known as the Gulf of California or Sea of Cortez.
There are around 7,000 inhabitants, there is a number of RV parks, resorts and stores. There is a very large and active diving community. Its about a 6 hour drive from the states.
There are many Americans and Canadians that live in San Carlos during the winter. The Summer months are very hot. There is fish, dive, and of course the beautiful the beach's.
We stayed at our boondocking site 10 days.

"GLORIOUS NEW MOTORHOME"
Hello to all you sweet people out in thie beautiful country. It been some time sence I have posted any new info on this. Cwit really has been keeping me busy as ever. By the way Cwit is going by DesertDale now.
First of all we got us a new motorhome. Its a Vactioner by Monaco Coach Corp. We had a time of getting it but thanks to Randy, the first owner, we have it now. DesertDale seen it on the Internet when we were in Bouse,AZ. and it was all the way up north close near Clear Lake. Made arrangement to go and pick it up. Sure had a time with the Credit Union to get even though Desertdale was preapproved for it. Finally got everything settled then we are off and moving down that road, where ever it goes.
What a beautiful ride on Hwy.20 going thru Clear Lake.
The Motorhome was in A1 shape. It is 34 feet long, a diesel pusher,(so the gass is highwer, who cares) DesertDale made a good choice.
I can not see anything wrong with it even though it like the disel.

It is the 5th year for the BUB Motorcycle Speed Trails.
The Salt Flats is a place where world records have been broken. The men are part of a of a group who have pushed their motorcycles to their limits.
The Land Speed Racing is very dangerous. We did see one very bad wreck of Streamliner Number 7070 were the drive was killed .
The prize money was as follow:$5,000 for Top Time of the meet. $5,000 for Top Time-Sit on Motorcyle. $5,000 for Top Time-Open Motorcycle and $500.00 for Top Time Antique Motrcycle, and many others prizes, too may to list.
The Bonneville Salt Flats stretching over 30,000 acres. It is located along I-80 near the Utah-Nevada border. Wendover is only about 10 miles away. It has a few top class casinos, and hotels.
It is used by thousands of visitors, commercial filmmakers, and of course, high speed auto racers.
The Bonneville Salt Flats is administered by the Bureau of Land Management for public use and enjoyment. So stay on the existing roads and designated for the vehicles. As much of the area is a thin salt crust over soft mud. Be careful when driving in the area as the salt water is highly corrosive and can screw up your electrical system in your vehicle.
The temperatures can go hifher then 100 and very cold in the winter. There are no facilties of any type on the flats. They do bring in temporary facilites on race days. Over night stay on the slat flats is not allowed. It is allowed in the surrounding areas.
DesertDale raced on the flats in 1960's and 1970's. He raced cars and motorcycles. He di set a record on his motorcycle of 127 in 1971. I will change that if its not right.
The Bonneville Salt Flats is one of the most unique natural features in Utah. Stretching over 30,000 acres, the Bonneville Salt Flats is a fragile resource administered by the Bureau of Land Management. It is located along I-80 near the Utah-Nevada border. Wendover is the closest city.
Thousands of visitors, commercial filmmakers, and of course, high speed auto racers, make the Bonneville Salt Flats a world famous destination. I hope you enjoy your visit to the Salt Flats as much as we did. There are many wonders to see near by be sides the Flats.
Almost forgot to say anything about the photo. The StreamLiner did do a speed of 331 at the meet in 2006. DesertDale took the photo in the pits.
This is one beautfull site in the early eveny hours to have a picnic at the park, like DesertDale(Cwit)and I did at the Ocean to Ocean Bridge in Yuma, Ca.
In 1850 to 1870's the steamboats transported passengers and good to the mines, military outpost and also served the different ports that was located on the Colorado River. At the same time the stagecoaches was also used.
Then in 1870 Southern Pacific Railroad put a Bridge across the Colorado. Yuma then became the main stop over.
The Ocean to Ocean Bridge was then built. It was the first vehicle bridge to cross the river.
Other ways to cross was the use of ferries. Not far from the Ocean to Ocean Bridge is the Territoral Prison. Plus the Yuma Crossing Historic Park. It is one fantastic place to a family gathering. As you can see by the photo. It is one fantastic place to take a few photos.
We are at the Imperial National Wildlife Refuge in AZ. Dawn and dusk are the best times to go and view wildlife. The winter months is the best as that is when the wild life are on the move. Just observe the and leave the little ones alone. As I am sure their parents ar not far.
Use a long lens or binoculars for a closer views.
If you set very quielly in one location you are apt to view even more.
Look for the signs of the different type of animals. Also be sure to take water to drink as you may stay longer then you expect to. Which is very easy to do.
There are som than 25,000 acres of the Imperial National Wildlife refuge. It's protected to insure that nature is primary in fluence of the area. Ducks, geese, shorebirds and other waterbirds go to the refuge to speand the winter's there.
The Visitor Center is open from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. From November 15 to March 31, also open Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Enjoy the exhibits, native plant garden, and watch a wildlife video.
Here is their web site:http://www.fws.gov/southwest/refuges/arizona/imperial.html
Enjoy it.
