Carmela was a stray mom who lived in a parking lot in Queens. She was fed regularly for two years by a quintet of ladies who work in the office building across the street, but a bitter winter cold snap combined with the sudden appearance of three kittens finally convinced the feeders they needed to trap her for good.
Luckily, Carmela was so friendly anyone could pet her and pick her up. Not so lucky: her three kits were less-than-friendly little mites (translation: itsy furballs from hell). Don't let those innocent pictures fool you!
On the other hand, who can resist a teeny ball of fluff (all the kits were longhair) even if it's tossing a hissy (or in this case, hissing) fit?
Caught with their mom and named for the actors on the hit show C.S.I., George, Jorja and Gary were adopted within a week of capture (hopefully their loving new homes helped improve their attitudes!), and their sweet, gentle mom found a home with a nice elderly lady about a week after that - and she had a waiting list of people wanting her, too! |
